Australia’s prime minister accused senior Muslim community leaders on Wednesday of “continuing down a path of denial” after they refused an invitation to a meeting to discuss the threat posed by Islamic extremists.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s tweeted response to the Islamic leaders’ request for a postponement of Thursday’s meeting adds to friction with the Muslim world sparked by his proposal last month to move the Australian embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Morrison has denied a widely held view that the Jerusalem proposal was aimed at domestic political gain amid a debate over levels of Muslim immigration.

“The meeting is going ahead with those who want to deal with this issue seriously rather than look the other way,” Morrison said.

“Some have chosen to publicly boycott this meeting. Continuing down a path of denial only lets their communities down,” he added.

Brothers Ertunc and Samed Eriklioglu and another man, Hanifi Halis, were arrested in Melbourne yesterday.

It is alleged the men had recently made moves to access a high-powered rifle, and had been communicating on an encrypted messaging app similar to WhatsApp.

Stripped of citizenship: PM unveils tough new terror laws

Scott Morrison will push for anyone convicted of a terrorism offence to be stripped of citizenship no matter how long they have been sentenced. The Prime Minister will introduce legislation in the next sitting fortnight of parliament to remove citizenship on any terrorism offence, as well as new temporary exclusion orders for overseas fighters.

Championing the cause of the poor, Pope Francis on Sunday lamented that “the wealthy few” enjoy what, “in justice, belongs to all” and said Christians cannot remain indifferent to the growing cries of the exploited and the indigent, including migrants.

The word “migrants” is now used to describe people of one country who invade another to help themselves to its wealth like locusts.

Francis said the poor were weeping “while the wealthy few feast on what, in justice, belongs to all. Injustice is the perverse root of poverty.”

Only by a grotesque misconception of justice does wealth belong equally to those who create it and those who don’t. This contradicts the Bible.

It is true that injustice is the root of poverty. When property rights are not respected, this injustice invariably leads to poverty; the greatest wealth is produced when property rights are upheld.

The antipode of poverty is wealth, not moonbattery.

Rolling Stones Announce 2019 U.S. Tour

NEW YORK (AP) — The Rolling Stones will be rolling through the United States next year.

The band says it’s adding a 13-show leg to its No Filter tour in spring 2019 that will hit Florida, Texas, Arizona, California, Washington, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Illinois and Washington, D.C. The tour kicks off in Miami on April 20.

For the past few years the legendary band has mostly played in Europe. Lead singer Mick Jagger says in a statement: “It’s a thrill when we play stadiums in the States.”

ISIS Supporters Encourage ‘Easier Ways’ for Fellow Jihadists, Like ‘Butchering and Bayonet’

Lone jihadists are encouraged to pick “deadly and easier ways” of attacks in new tips circulated online among ISIS supporters, with an image depicting a woman walking on the Palais de Chaillot framed in crosshairs.

The crudely photoshopped image, with the Eiffel Tower in the background, also depicts three victims on the ground at the popular tourist spot as a terrorist sporting a black T-shirt and face mask wields a bloody knife.

“Lone wolves” are advised to “prepare a plan and study it correctly,” and “if the plan is prepared, trust in Allah.”

Police raiding the home of Ertunc Eriklioglu, 30, in Dallas, in Melbourne’s north west, told the woman three times to move her car from the front of the property.

Yet, she continued to block other residents and workmen inside the block of units throughout the morning.

Police were raiding the home as part of their operation which led to three Australian Muslim men of Turkish background being arrested on Tuesday.
