This makes the migrants the responsibility of the EU, which should protect its own borders, but that is no longer the case. The Eastern European states in the Visegrad group (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia) have no need comparable to that of Cyprus here to go hat in hand to the EU to ask for help in providing for Muslim economic migrants.
