After four decades of being wrong, U.S. finally admits Israel has a right to build West Bank settlements anywhere in Israel

The move of the embassy to Jerusalem was largely symbolic, although the symbolism was important.

In a substantive policy sense, this is a lot more important:

Pompeo said U.S. statements about the settlements on the West Bank, which Israel captured in 1967, had been inconsistent, saying Democratic President Jimmy Carter found they were not consistent with international law and Republican President Ronald Reagan said he did not view them as inherently illegal.

A visit to the bustling square on Friday showed the green Christmas tree-shaped blocks deployed to protect the stalls from terrorist attacks. Security around Christmas markets has been tightened ever since the attack on Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz event in 2016, which claimed the lives of 12 people.

In a document circulated to EU governments, France said the process of EU enlargement should be more “gradual,” terms of accession more “stringent” and the process “reversible.” Eventual accession should only be possible “in the long term,” and only after the bloc has been “reformed,” according to the memo seen by Bloomberg.

Two EU diplomats in Brussels said the French proposals amount to an effective halt on EU enlargement, making accession a moving target for western Balkan countries. EU ministers will discuss the matter on Tuesday, just weeks after Paris torpedoed the start of accession negotiations with Albania and the Republic of North Macedonia.

The word kuffar/kafir shows the common political treatment of Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, animist, atheist and humanist.
It should be used instead of ‘unbeliever,’ a neutral term. The Koran defines the kafir and kafir is not a neutral word.

Aussie taxpayers to pay for asylum seeker’s botched penis enlargement

An Iranian asylum seeker who tried to enlarge his penis using palm oil while in detention in Papua New Guinea will receive expensive treatment in Australia after he botched the procedure.

The man injected the oil into himself in an effort to enlarge his penis but when he developed swelling, discomfort and limited function, a doctor ordered that he be flown to Australia for corrective treatment, reports the Daily Telegraph.

The transfer was mandated by the medevac laws which passed through the Australian parliament earlier this year, supported by Labor and independent crossbenchers.
