Update on the Olympic threat. Counter-terrorism expert Walid Phares examines the so-called “ethnic” conflict between the Uighurs and Chinese, concluding that it’s simply good ol’ jihad fi sabil Allah. “China discovers al Qaeda in its backyard,” by Walid Phares for Counter Terrorism Blog, August 7:

Interestingly the Associated Press runs to frame the Terrorists to a local ethnic conflict in one of China’s Western provinces. AP wrote: “Chinese forces have for years been battling a low-intensity separatist movement among Xinjiang’s Uighurs, a Turkic Muslim people who are culturally and ethnically distinct from China’s Han majority.” The news agency has tried to set the agenda of the debate by scoring three points for the “radicals.” They are separatists, they are representative of a local ethnicity and they are Muslim. In addition the description of the struggle is informative: Chinese forces versus a Uighur movement. In a way a parallel to Kosovo, Chechnya and Kashmir with two projected effects. As framed by AP, the struggle of these “Terrorists” is indeed legitimate even though the means are violent. But is it the case?

Catholics protest against Manila’s Muslim deal

MANILA, Aug 2 (Reuters) – Catholic officials from two cities in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao are calling for protests next week against a government deal that increases the size of an autonomous region for Muslims. 

The agreement between Manila and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), which has taken more than 10 years to negotiate, gives more land to minority Muslims in the largely Catholic state and also gives them broader political and economic powers. 

“This is treason,” Maria Isabel Climaco, a member of the lower house of Congress representing Zamboanga City, told reporters.

Glenn L. Carle “was a member of the CIA’s Clandestine Service for 23 years and retired in March 2007 as deputy national intelligence officer for transnational threats.” In “Overstating Our Fears” in the Washington Post, July 13, he says this:

We do not face a global jihadist “movement” but a series of disparate ethnic and religious conflicts involving Muslim populations, each of which remains fundamentally regional in nature and almost all of which long predate the existence of al-Qaeda.

In a circulating e-mail, LTC Joseph Myers, who has served at the Defense Intelligence Agency as the Chief of the South America Division and Senior Military Analyst for Colombia from 1997-2000, responds:

This helps explain to me why we have strategically failed in the current war to identify the enemy and understand and template his threat doctrine and why seven years into the “global war on terror,” we don’t have a global threat model for it.It is because, apparently, key CIA leadership responsible for “global threat” analysis has concluded that we have no “global” threat:

We do not face a global jihadist “movement” but a series of disparate ethnic and religious conflicts involving Muslim populations, each of which remains fundamentally regional in nature and almost all of which long predate the existence of al-Qaeda.

So the underlying conditions of regional, ethnic and internecine struggles within the Muslim community are the problems we face. And the CIA theory for the war on terror is that we do not face a “global jihadist ‘movement.'”

Norway Jihad: Mullah Krekar sez “Islam will win…”

This documentary shows one of Norway’s fake Muslim refugees scamming the system while plotting the demise of the west and his host nation.

If you speak out against the Islamic invasion in PC infested Scandinavia you will be called ‘racist’ and ‘Islamophobic’ – you will be vilified and dragged through the courts for being a ‘xenophobe’ who incites hatred.

But Mullah Krekar doesn’t beat around the bush: He is one of the few ‘honest Muslims’ who won’t use kitman and taqiyya to obscure and deflect or lie outright about the ultimate goals of the ‘Religion of Peace’.

The question is: Is anybody listening and will somebody somewhere do anything about it?

Norway’s most controversial refugee, Mullah Krekar, told an Oslo newspaper on Monday that there’s a war going on between “the West” and Islam. He said he’s sure that Islam will win, and he also had praise for suspected terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

“We’re the ones who will change you,” Krekar told Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet in his first interview since an uproar broke out over cartoons deemed offensive to Muslims.

“Just look at the development within Europe, where the number of Muslims is expanding like mosquitoes,” Krekar said. “Every western woman in the EU is producing an average of 1.4 children. Every Muslim woman in the same countries are producing 3.5 children.

“By 2050, 30 percent of the population in Europe will be Muslim.”

He claimed that “our way of thinking… will prove more powerful than yours.” He loosely defined “western thinking” as formed by the values held by leaders of western or non-islamic nations. Its “materialism, egoism and wildness” has altered Christianity, he claimed.

Krekar, who’s been supported by the Norwegian government since arriving as a refugee from northern Iraq in the early 1990s, now faces deportation after violating the terms of his refugee status and being deemed a threat to national security.

Bin Laden ‘a good man’
Krekar told Dagbladet that he favours Islamic rule where political and religious leaders are one and the same. One such leader he respects, he said, is Osama bin Laden.

“Osama bin Laden is a good person,” Krekar said. He claimed Osama bin Laden is considered a terrorist simply because he lacks his own state.

“Those who say Osama bin Laden is a terrorist are themselves killing our women and children,” Krekar said.

Attempts to “spread democracy,” he claimed, are merely a ruse to wage war against Islam, adding that “the West destroyed the Taliban regime in Afghanistan” because “it feared the Islamic state.
