Switzerland: UN Demands Yuman Rites for Muslims, But Not For Native Swiss

The comments by the Geneva-based UN Human Rights Committee were made in conclusions on Swiss progress in implementing the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), which is monitored by the body of experts.
Switzerland should “strenuously ensure respect of freedom of religion and firmly combat incitement to discrimination, hostility and violence”, the committee declared.
Among other recommendations, they said the Federal Commission against Racism should be strengthened to investigate all cases of racial discrimination and incitement to national, racial or religious hatred. Otherwise, an independent mechanism able to initiate legal action should be set up.
The committee said it was also preoccupied by reports of police brutality against people arrested or detained, in particular against asylum-seekers and migrants.
It said all cantons should create an independent mechanism to investigate complaints against the police. Ethnic minorities should also be better represented in Swiss police forces, it added.
While recognising the Swiss authorities’ “sustained attention” to human rights and measures undertaken since the last progress report in 2001, the body urged Switzerland to lift its remaining reservations concerning the treaty, to ratify the Optional Protocol – which establishes complaint and inquiry mechanisms – and to create a national human rights institution.
Other specific recommendations focused on better protection and support for asylum seekers, firearms, assisted suicide, combating violence against women, and compensation or reparations for forcible castrations and sterilisations conducted between 1960 and 1987.

The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), and the UN Human Rights Committee (UNHRC) which monitors compliance with it, function as islamist front organizations. This is because none of the following muslim countries have signed or ratified the ICCPR: Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Malaysia or United Arab Emirates.

The UNHRC lectures Switzerland on freedom of religion. Meanwhile, the Saudis prohibit Christianity, Jews, Buddhists, churches, temples, priests, bibles and crosses etc. (No Jew is allowed to travel or work in Arabia/ed) They also torture and murder anyone who preaches or converts to other religions. The Malaysians treat non-muslims as second class citizens by making them pay a “non-muslim” tax.

So the UNHRC fights for the freedom of Islam to spread into other countries, while allowing Islamic countries to go scot-free as they brutally persecute other religions and shut them out. It’s hypocritical BULLSHIT, and the UNHRC members should be egged and shouted down the next time they appear in public.

The Muslim community in Rheinfelden/Germany got approval to build a mosque with a minaret on condition that no loudspeakers be attached and that no amplified call to prayer would annoy  nearby residents. As soon as the building was completed, the muezzin started to wail and howl over 3 powerful loudspeakers and annoyed the hell out of the neighborhood. Now, because of the upcoming referendum in nearby Switzerland (a citizens initiative has already collected over 120.000 signatures against mosques and minarets) some think the muslims gave away the game to soon….

So, according to the latest news from Jihad Watch Germany,  the soldiers of Allah removed the loudspeakers (for now) since it was “childish and  thoughtless”. Lets see what they say after the Swiss had their referendum.

Georg Kreis, the president of the Federal Commission Against Racism (EKR) explained in an interview with 20 minuten, why the posters inciting hatred against Muslims and anonymous contributors weaken the Swiss democracy the most.

20 minuten: The EKR declared that the minaret posters endanger the Swiss public peace. What’s so bad about the subject?

Georg Kreis: The poster vilified Muslims in the worst way and projects very aggressive imagery. The rocket-minarets are no coincidence, but a pure agitation targeted against an ethnic group. The burqa is mere populism – because in Switzerland there are virtually no burqa-wearing Muslim women. The poster calls for hatred against the Muslims and thus disturbs the peace of Switzerland. We need to protect Switzerland against such a defamatory and inflammatory categorization. At the moment it’s the Swiss People’s Party campaign, not Islam that threatens Switzerland. Read it all

Basel city authorities have banned as racist a poster which the rightwing People’s Party planned to use in its anti-minaret campaign.

The poster shows a woman in a burka and a Swiss flag pierced by minarets springing up out of the ground.

An initiative to forbid the construction of minarets in Switzerland comes to a nationwide vote on November 29.

Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi is set to ask the United Nations to ‘abolish’ Switzerland and share the land among its neighbouring countries.

The eccentric dictator has filed a motion with the U.N. saying the Alpine state should be wiped off the map and split among France, Italy and Germany.

Gaddafi is set to present his bizarre plan when Libya takes over the year-long presidency of the U.N. general Assembly on September 15.

He first mentioned his idea at the G8 summit in Italy in July. ‘Switzerland is a world mafia and not a state,’ he said.

‘It is formed of an Italian community that should return to Italy, another German community that should return to Germany, and a third French community that should return to France.’

The Swiss Foreign Ministry described it as a single-minded campaign against Swiss interests.

Swiss MP Christa Markwalder, told the Swiss TV news programme 10 vor 10 this week: ‘We are concerned that Libya will attempt to use its year-long presidency of the U.N. General Assembly to damage Switzerland’s reputation.’

Relations between Switzerland and Libya crumbled after Gaddafi’s son Hannibal, 33, and his pregnant wife were arrested in Geneva a year ago accused of assaulting a hotel chamber maid.

Due to its location on the shore of Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee), within sight of Mount Pilatus and Rigi in the Swiss Alps, Lucerne is traditionally considered first and foremost as a tourist destination. One of the city’s famous landmarks is Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), a wooden bridge first built in the 14th century.

In the mid seventies Sheik Yer’mami had the great pleasure to spend a  bit of time in this great city and therefore  fondly remembers the awesome, wooden structure and the magnificent paintings. Naturally, the religious nature of the images aggravated  an itinerant  soldier of Allah, who felt it was his religious duty to please Allah by burning the bridge.

The tourist guide won’t tell you that.

The  Kapellbruecke is 203 meters long and it dates back to the year 1333. The bridge is covered by a wooden roof under which 111 paintings were added in the 17th century. Unfortunately a fire destroyed 86 of these paintings in 1993,and they had to be replaced by replicas.

Switzerland: Islam-wary Swiss may ban minarets

The trade with Arab countries is at stake! Can’t have that!  We can’t alienate the Arabs, what to do, what to do?

On Radio DRS  the Swiss Foreign Minister and Ahmadinejad-hussy Calmy-Rey spoke  against the anti-minaret initiative. The proposed ban on minarets infringes on freedom of religion and was also a danger for the economy and security in Switzerland. “It is as if we would ban church towers,” she said. (well, Calmy Rey already contradicts herself in the next sentence, because banning church towers is unlikely to result in terrorism/ed)

Another critical point was the backlash  in the Muslim world against  Switzerland, which the adoption of the initiative could trigger. With reference to the impact of the cartoon controversy in Denmark  the anti-minaret initiative  was also dangerous for the foreign policy and relations between Switzerland and other countries. Above all, trade with Arab countries is at stake and Switzerland can’t alienate the Arabs.

The SVP and a small ultra-conservative Christian party launched a campaign last year to have the building of minarets banned in Switzerland.

The far-right parties claim that a minaret is not necessary for worship but is rather a symbol of Islamic law supremacy  and conquest which is incompatible with Switzerland’s legal system.

Switzerland Federal Council Decides in Favor of Minarets

                            

The trouble with this decision is that once again politicians ride roughshod over the concerns of  115 000  citizens who signed this petition against minarets. What is more disturbing is that once again  “Human Rights” are invoked and used to further the Islamization of the the Dar al Harb. There is no reciprocity in Islamic countries, where our concept of human rights is derided and replaced by the sharia, which doesn’t respect human rights at all. Some Islamic countries are signatories to  human rights agreements, but don’t plan to abide by them anytime soon.

The popular initiative against the construction of minarets has been submitted in accordance with the applicable regulations, but infringes guaranteed international human rights and contradicts the core values of the Swiss Federal Constitution. On 27 August 2008, the Swiss Federal Council recommended that the Swiss parliament reject the initiative without making a counter-proposal. If the initiative does not “infringe upon the core human rights that are recognised by all states and must be upheld by all”, in the view of the Federal Council, it is nonetheless irreconcilable with the various human rights that are guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and by the UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (UN Covenant II).   • violates religious freedom and the discrimination ban
  • contradicts the core values of the Federal Constitution
  • ineffective in the fight against extremism, and
  • endangers peace between religions; hinders integration

The inititive has been a source of concern and indignation in Switzerland and abroad. The Federal Council acknowledged the initiative on 8 July, 2008, when it was submitted with almost 115’000 signatures, but, in a unusual move, had immediatekly voiced its opposition:  the “Federal Council will naturally be recommending that parliament and the electorate vote against the initiative”.

A Swiss professor has stirred up a hornet’s nest by suggesting that certain elements of Sharia, the Muslim legal system, should be introduced in Switzerland.

Christian Giordano told swissinfo that current Swiss legislation was “too narrow” for minorities and he put a case for introducing legal pluralism.

His position echoes that of Anglican Church head, the Archbishop of Canterbury, who last year caused a storm of protest in Britain after suggesting a partial adoption of Sharia law there.

“Touching simple-mindedness” was the reaction of the NZZ am Sonntag newspaper to Giordano’s proposal, saying it wasn’t clear what problems this would solve.

“There’s no place for Sharia in Switzerland,” it said. “Special rights for people, apart from in courts of arbitration or associations, have been abolished.”
