 Shop bans head scarves and hijabs

Shoppers wearing head scarves have been banned from a shop because the owner said they cannot be properly identified.

The ruling at Whitegate Wines off-licence and Convenience Store, Padiham Road, Padiham, includes those wearing the hijab – the traditional Muslim head wear.

A sign on the door states: ‘Due to CCTV coverage all headwear must be removed before entering the shop’.

Unlike the veil, where the only the eyes are visible – the full face of the hijab wearer is visible as the scarf simply covers the hair of the wearer.

Hijab-wearers are welcome in banks, through airport security and even the passport office accepts pictures of Muslim women with the hijab

* The hijab, or burka as we can see in this pic from the US, is convenient for robbing banks, shop-lifting and escaping to other countries after engaging in assassinations or terrorist attacks in the bilad-al-kuffr.

He said: “She returned empty-handed. I then went in with my wife and she was told she would not get served.

“First we tried to explain that unlike a hoodie or a hat, Muslim women wear the hijab for religious reasons.

“Then we tried to explain that if a bank accepts customers wearing a headscarf then shouldn’t that mean this shop should too?

“But the staff were having none of it.”

“I think they are simply taking the headwear rule to its extreme.”

Owner Tom White said security was the overriding concern.

“The police told us that a person is more identifiable if all the headgear is removed.

“So we have decided to implement the policy across the board so as not to favour anyone.

“I have also been told I am perfectly within my rights to do this.

“As you may understand shops such as ours are targeted by shoplifters and security is therefore a major concern for us.

“The policy has been in place for about a year and a half.

“In that that time shoplifting has gone down.”

When asked if any Hijab wearing women had committed any shoplifting in the past Mr White said, ‘No’.

Another customer added, “I know some people might say #What’s a Muslim doing going into an off-licence?’

“But almost all shops and supermarkets everywhere sell alcohol. Should we stop going in them too?

“Many shops have security concerns but banning the hijab is not right at all.”

A GOLD Coast man threatened to kill his daughter and himself if she denounced Islam for Christianity, a court was told yesterday.

The Southport Magistrate’s Court heard accused murderer Kaihana Tahsseen Hussain told police her father had once threatened to kill her if she abandoned the Muslim faith.

Hussain has been charged with murdering her mother, Shaheda.

A forensic officer told Hussain’s committal hearing yesterday that police also told her the defendant had alleged that her mother had tried to strangle her during an argument three months before the October 2006 tragedy.

Anne-Louise Swain said the teenager’s injuries were consistent with her claims that her father Muhammad killed his wife and tried to kill her before turning the knife on himself.

However, Dr Swain could not say categorically whether the teenager’s injuries were sustained fending off an attack or from performing the attack.

Hussain is accused of her mother’s murder and the attempted murder of her father, allegedly over their opposition to her desire to change religions, just days after the family had moved to the Gold Coast.

Dr Swain said she examined Hussain on the night of October 9, observing injuries including scratches, bruises and bite marks on the then 17-year-old.

The girl, who was at that stage not being treated as a suspect in the killing, said her father had killed her mother, tried to strangle her and then slammed her fingers in a door as she tried to escape the murder scene.

She also had dried blood on her hands, but when Dr Swain removed it there were no injuries underneath.

Rodney Benson, a paramedic who treated Muhammad Hussain at the Smith St unit complex, said the former Bangladesh and Adelaide doctor asked police to arrest his daughter because “she stabbed me and my wife”.

The hearing continues today.

The mother of Princess Diana called her a ‘whore’ for dating Muslim men, her inquest has heard.
Frances Shand Kydd made the ‘disgraceful’ comment when she discovered her daughter was in a serious relationship with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan.
The pair did not speak again before Diana died two months later, according to her butler Paul Burrell.

The sensational revelation came on the day that he told how:

Mr Burrell told the High Court that the princess had held up the phone as they sat together on the sofa of her Kensington Palace apartment so that he could hear her mother’s rant.

The Tolerance of Islamic Checkout Clerks

A MUSLIM store worker refused to serve a customer buying a children’s book on Christianity because she said it was “unclean”.

Shopper Sally Friday felt publicly humiliated at a branch of Marks & Spencer when she tried to pay for First Bible Stories as a gift for her young grandson.

When she put the book on the check-out counter, the young assistant refused to touch it, declared it was unclean and summoned another member of staff to serve instead.

Mrs Friday said she was so upset that she has now complained to the store’s management.

Last night politicians and religious leaders supported her in condemning the high street giant and reigniting the debate over religious beliefs in the workplace.

Conservative MP Philip Davies said the refusal to serve Mrs Friday, 69, was “unacceptable” and “damaging” to community relations.

Inayat Bunglawala, assistant secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, described the assistant’s comments as “offensive” and called for Marks & Spencer to carry out a thorough investigation.

Mrs Friday said her trip to the sales in Reading, Berks, with her daughter had been ruined.

“I went to the till and heard the girl say it was unclean and then she got someone else to serve me,” said Mrs Friday.

“At first I wasn’t sure what was going on and then I realised she was wearing a headdress and I clicked that the title of the book had Bible in it. I felt very humiliated and immediately left the store.”

Vienna – Remarks by a right-wing politician denouncing Islam and accusing the Prophet Mohammed of having been a paedophile provoked widespread outrage in Austria on Monday, with authorities investigating whether they constituted hate speech.

Susanne Winter, a candidate for the Freedom Party in local elections in Graz in south-eastern Austria, said on Sunday that Mohammed’s marriage to a 6-year-old girl would make the prophet a ‘paedophile in today’s system.’

Speaking at a rally, Winter demanded that Islam should be ‘thrown back where it came from, beyond the Mediterranean Sea.’

Winter later justified her attacks. ‘There is widespread child abuse by Muslim men,’ she was quoted as saying by the newspaper Oesterreich.

‘Why can’t I say this? That has nothing to do with hate speech. We want neither Austrian nor foreign paedophiles. I did not want to incite hatred, or offend a religious community,’ she said.

The verdict was exceptionally harsh financially, nor do individuals with families have the money to spare for such a thing. According to the directive, I am to keep my web pages permanently closed. During the trial, I was left with the feeling that everything had already been judged beforehand. I believe that I explained my case and my position in a reasonable and acceptable manner, for which I was slapped with a verdict based on such a weak charge, just because I dared to have a different opinion by bringing the stark realism of multiculturalism for all to see.

But my case has now become just one of these “example cases” by which the voice of truth is silenced.

Web blogger faces ‘racial incitement’ arrest

Police are threatening to arrest an internet ‘web blogger’ for incitement to racial hatred the minute he returns to Britain.

Paul Ray, who ‘blogs’ as ‘Lionheart’, left Britain for an undisclosed location in the Middle East two years ago.

He claims he was receiving death threats which made it impossible to stay in his home town of Luton.

Since leaving Britain, he has regularly updated his blog with news and opinions on subjects such as the heroin trade, Islamic fundamentalism and police corruption.

On January 3, Mr Ray received an email from Bedfordshire Police which he has since posted on his website.

From Hate Crime officer Ian Holden, it read: ‘The offence that I need to arrest you for is ‘Stir up Racial Hatred by displaying written material’ contrary to sections 18(1) and 27(3) of the Public Order Act 1986.

‘You will be arrested on SUSPICION of the offence. You would only be charged following a full investigation based on all the relevant facts and CPS consent.

‘Paul I will see you on the 19/02/08 when I will tell you everything that you need to know.

‘Due to being out of the office for six weeks I will not have access to my email as of tomorrow 04/01/08.’

A spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said: “We are aware of this particular internet site and we are taking action.”

Husain:  Among Muslims we have an extremism problem. We Muslims need to be transparent and accept that significant numbers of our youth hold, and sometimes act out, conclusions based on extremist Islamist discourse. The vast majority of Britain’s Muslims are a bulwark against extremism and terrror, an asset to the fight against fanaticism. It is British Muslims who will pioneer Western Islam, liberated from the political baggage of the Muslim East. But this requires the creation of a public space free from Islamist interference, free for the emergence of a genuinely Western Islam.

Qur’an 4:34 tells men to beat their disobedient wives after first warning them and then sending them to sleep in separate beds. It is worth noting how several translators render the key part of this verse, وَاضْرِبُوهُنَّ, waidriboohunna.

Call to stop ‘male Islamic violence’

MUSLIM leaders want to enlist the federal Government to a campaign to tackle men in their community who distort Islamic culture to justify bashing their wives and children.

Female Muslim leader Aziza Abdel-Halim, who accused Islamic clerics of hushing up abuse to protect male members of their mosques, is planning a coalition of men and women to raise awareness of domestic violence.

Community leaders yesterday warned that victims were being held captives in their own homes by abusive husbands and in some cases reporting to Islamic social services with broken arms, cuts and bruises.

Sister Abdel-Halim, a senior member of the Howard government’s Muslim advisory board and president of the Muslim Women’s National Network Australia, said the coalition would be set up this year to lobby the Government for assistance.

“There’s wife beating, there’s children beating,” she said.

“Some of them go to the extent of forbidding the woman to leave the house.

“It is a real problem. And as long as people keep hushing it up and sweeping it under the carpet … nobody knows about it, nobody is prepared to do anything about it, even the imams.”

Sydney psychiatrist Tanveer Ahmed said some victims felt helpless because when they sought the advice of their imam, rather than social services, the cleric often sided with the abuser. “Very rarely would you get the imam trying to punish the man,” he said. “They’ll see it more as, if not culturally appropriate, then culturally understandable.”

* Dhimmi Damage Control: “Domestic violence affects all communities,”

The Victorian executive officer of the Immigrant Women’s Domestic Violence Service, Diana Orlanda, said there was no evidence Muslim women were at greater risk than other Australians. “Domestic violence affects all communities,” she said. “However, in non-English-speaking background communities, they experience greater barriers to intervention and help because of language difficulties.”

Dr Ahmed said the main distinguishing factor of domestic violence within the Muslim community was that the abusers were not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Instead they were driven by a cultural belief of upholding their honour.*

“They view wives and daughters as an extension of their honour and when they deviate from what they would view as accepted … they see it as an undermining of their own status,” he said.

Iran’s Ayatollah: “West Abuses Women, Islam Honors Them”

CNSNews.com) – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who rules over a nation where men are allowed to have four permanent wives and as many “temporary” wives as they like, declared in a recent lecture to Iranian students that Iran honors women, while the West abuses them.

The ayatollah said one indication of this is that women in Iran are forced to wear the hijab — clothing that covers much or all of a woman’s head, face and body — while women in the West are not forced to wear it.

In the West’s “sensationalism concerning women’s affairs, they blame us by saying: You have made hijab compulsory,” the ayatollah said in a January 3 lecture to a conference of Iranian students. “They themselves have made lack of hijab compulsory.”
