Scandalous and absurd.  Instead of protecting  him from the Muslim assassins and going after them it is he,  the truth-teller, who has to flee. How long can this go on?

Considering that he’s not just another critic of Islam, but an ex-Muslim, an apostate, who, according to sharia, must be put to death, this, of course, is only to be expected. But that he taught at Sunni Islam’s most prestigious school and was an imam only to turn around and criticize Islam, also gives him that much more authority (and his foes that much more reason to want to slay him).

Mark A. Gabriel, ex-Muslim and Islam-critic has gotten death threats and must cancel speaking appointments in the Netherlands. 

The American terrorism fighting unit, the FBI, advised Gabriel to drop all public appearances in the Europe due to these death threats. He was escorted to the Schiphol airport by his contact person in the Netherlands, Jewish-Christian pastor Ben Kok. Gabriel had planned to be in the Netherlands till April 25.

Gabriel (51), his pseudonym for years, grew up as a Muslim in Egypt. He was a teacher at Al-Azhar University and an imam as well, but was disappointed with Islam, in particular due to its violent character. When he crossed over to Christianity, he had to flee. He now has asylum in the US.

U.N.: Ahmadinejad’s Durban II speech was an edited version of the original

 A couple of kids in clown suits  started demonstrating in the aisles in front of Ahmadinejad.  It seemed surreal.  (I later learned they were members of a European Jewish delegation.)  Everyone in my room appeared amazed, even pleased, but the clowns were unceremoniously escorted from the hall and Ahmadinejad resumed his speech.  I thought this was some minor interruption of the sort one frequently sees in the US, but in what seemed like seconds, a number of national delegates were standing up in their seats in front of Ahmadinejad and walking out in his face. These included France, Belgium, the Czech Republic, the UK, etc… all countries that, I knew, had made a big deal about attending the conference, not the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Poland, Germany and the Netherlands – that honor roll of countries with the sense to realize what a fiasco this was in front and refused to participate (how good they look now!).

 Recently a group of English patriots applied for a permit to organize a parade in Luton on April 23rd — St. George’s Day, English National Day — but their application was denied, ostensibly because they had failed to file far enough in advance. This refusal resulted in an unofficial outpouring of anger as shown inthe video I posted last night.

Cologne CathedralA similar repression is at work in Cologne. As you may remember, thePro-Köln movement will hold an Anti-Islamization Congress for May 9th, and it was originally scheduled to take place in the square in front of Cologne Cathedral.

This location is significant — the cathedral is the heart of the city, and the true symbol of its traditional Christian culture, which is what Pro-Köln is intent on defending against the Muslim encroachment as represented by the proposed mega-mosque in Cologne-Ehrenfeld.

But now it seems that the Pro-movement will be denied the right to gather in front of Cologne Cathedral. Notice the rationale that is at work here: because anarchists, “anti-fascists”, and Muslims are expected to react violently, a peaceful citizens’ group is denied the right to gather in a public place.

This is just the latest of many examples of the suppression of free speech — others include the self-imposed censorship of any publication of the Motoons, and the ban against Geert Wilders’ appearance in the UK — because of a fear of violence on the part of those who disagree with what other citizens have to say.

The organizers of the Anti-Islamization Congress, however, are ready with alternate plans. Our Flemish correspondent VH has compiled an account of the latest from Cologne, based on various German-language sources:

This is how the exaggerated lists of Muslim inventions get started — someone just makes it up. But don’t laugh: consider for a moment how the myth of a tolerant, pluralistic Muslim Spain has entered the popular consciousness.

Note that underneath the bluster of the claim in the press release’s headline (below) is the Islamic dogma that everyone is born a Muslim. By such means Muslims can claim anyone’saccomplishments. But the assertion that the abolition of slavery is in the Qur’an is false. The Qur’an takes slavery for granted, and it is no accident that there has never been a Muslim Wilberforce or Garrison.

Nor does the Qur’an teach equality of any kind between the Muslims, “the best of people” (3:110) and the unbelievers, “the most vile of created beings” (98:6).

Jews had never proclaimed they were going to conquer Europe and subjugate non-Jews under the rule of Jewish law. Many, many Muslims have proclaimed that the Islamic conquest of Europe is imminent. To speak out against that, and in favor of freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, the equality of rights of all people before the law, and the non-establishment of religion in society is not to call for anyone to be killed.

Another KRudd Initiative: Australia re-educating 'radical' Muslims

The Australian government has announced plans to re-educate ‘radical Muslims’ who have been convicted of terrorist offences.

How are they planning to do this?
By getting ‘moderate Muslims’ to help re-educate ‘radical Muslims‘ and convicted terrorists.
A taskforce has been established at the request of federal Attorney General Robert McClelland. The aim of the project is to convert the radicals to “moderate Islam” through a ‘hearts and minds’ campaign.
Some questions…
  • Who are the ‘moderate’ Muslims that government plans to use in the program?
  • How are they planning to do this?
  • Who is on the taskforce?
+ The government and taskforce are “consulting Islamic countries”. Indonesia, for example, is apparently said to be working on de-radicalisation strategies – see here.
The UK recently launched a new counter terrorism strategy working on countering radicalisation. Click here for details.
+ Victoria’s Corrective Services deputy commissioner Rod Wise is on the taskforce. He says means are limited but they plan to use Muslim chaplains in the prisons!

Asharq Al-Awsat slams Ahmadinejad speech

Israel Radio reported on Tuesday morning that an editorial in the London-based pan-Arabic daily Asharq Al-Awsat slammed Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s speech on Monday to the UN-sponsored hatefest in Geneva.

No, not because it was a racist anti-Semitic diatribe.

Asharq slammed Ahmadinejad because all he accomplished was to unify other countries in support of Israel.

Asharq taunted Ahmadinejad, asking how many Iranians had died in wars against Israel and what Iran had ever done to recover Arab land.

It said that the Arabs need deeds and not words, and all Ahmadinejad did was add more words that harm the Arab cause.

Heh.
