The Police Directorate has decided that it will be permitted to wear hijab with the Norwegian police uniform. Police Director Ingelin Killengreen says the move is part of a desire to secure broad recruitmet.

Killengren points to the fact that among new immigrants there is a large number of women who for religious reasons wear hijab.

– By refusing to allow these to wear their headdress, we would in reality exclude in particular these groups from serving in the police force, the Police Director says.

More than 30 people have been killed and dozens injured in a bomb attack on a religious procession in Pakistan’s Punjab province, officials say.

The attack targeted Shia worshippers in the town of Dera Ghazi Khan.

* Sunni Muslims view Shiites as ”rafidite dogs & kuffars”- the attack must be seen as a blessing and a mercy to the infidel Shiites, who will repent and convert to the right kind of Islam, which is peaceful…

They were leaving a mosque when the bomb went off. It is not clear who carried the attack or whether it was the work of a suicide bomber.

Released Gitmo inmates up the jihadi rhetoric

Strangely, the New York Times has failed to report the whole story three times.

The proof of that assertion is: Robert F. Worth wrote of Susan Elbaneh’s fugitive cousin last March; he mentioned her death, name, and hometown last September while reporting on the bombing of our embassy in Yemen yet made no mention of Jaber Elbaneh; and their names and the latter’s connection to the Lackawanna Six were missing from his reports last week about two former Guantanamo detainees reuniting with al Qaeda in Yemen and their being suspected in that same attack upon our embassy.

American girl Susan Elbaneh was murdered by al Qaeda and reporters from in and near her hometown actually began doing their jobs back as far as September 18, 2008:

A Lackawanna High School student who traveled to Yemen to be married last month was one of the victims of a terrorist bombing Wednesday at the U. S. Embassy in Yemen, the woman’s school principal said. Attackers armed with automatic weapons, rocket-propelled grenades and at least one suicide car bomb assaulted the compound in the Yemeni capital of Sana. Officials listed the 16 people killed as six assailants, six guards and four civilians. Susan Elbaneh, 18, was killed, along with her Yemeni husband, as they stood outside the embassy, family members said Wednesday.

They were apparently there to do paperwork for the husband’s move to the U. S. when the attackers struck, said Elbaneh’s brother, Ahmed.

Seven Years Later, Daniel Pearl's Father Still Doesn't Get It

Daniel Pearl’s father Judea Pearl is shocked–shocked!–that Muslims around the world actually do what they’ve done for centuries and what their sheikhs tell them to do at mosques and on Islamic law shows on Al-Jazeera. Debbie Schlussel rips him a new A-sole over his kumbayah puff piece in the Wall Street Journal:

Seven years ago, this week, Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was murdered by Islamic terrorists.

His slaughter was brutal. He was beheaded, and his limbs were cut off like chicken parts. Before that, he was forced by Islamic terrorists to talk about being a Jew.

We all remember this (though the mainstream media sanitized what Islamic murderers actually did to him), and it is a tragedy. But there is at least one man who still doesn’t get it: Daniel Pearl’s father, Judea Pearl.

For some reason, Daniel Pearl’s murder has been elevated above those of 3,000 Americans murdered on 9/11, even though the 3,000 were innocent victims on American soil minding their own business. Pearl, on the other hand, was an extremely left-wing, nominal Jew whose reporting repeatedly gave exposure to and legitimization of Islamic terrorists.

* But Judea Pearl is not the only one who barks up the wrong tree and goes chasing his own tail. Nick Bergs father is far worse: he doesn’t blame the terrorists who beheaded his (liberal) son, he blames George W. Bush and sues Donald Rumsfeld! Which only proves that liberalism is a mental disorder from which few recover:

In an interview, Professor Shalom Rosenberg from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem was asked by the interviewer about the proportionality whereby only few Israelis were killed and the hundreds of Gazans that were killed; he replied in “sweetness language”: “Hamas itself set this proportion. If Hamas demands to free 1000 terrorists incarcerated in Israeli jails for one Israeli soldier — Gilad Shalit — then they themselves set the “worth rate” that the life of one Israel equals to one thousand Gazans. If so, this proportionality dictates that in order to defend one Israeli soldier, we (Israel) have to attack terrorists despite the risk of killing hundreds of citizens.”

A Saudi government spokesman says 11 of the Saudis on its recently issued most wanted list are former Guantanamo detainees.

                    

Gen. Mansour al-Turki of the Saudi Interior Ministry told The Associated Press on Wednesday that among the 85 people listed by the government, 11 had been released from the U.S. detention facility in Cuba and passed through government-sponsored rehabilitation programs.

It appears Obama is going to implement the new lexicon of “sensitive” words introduced by various U.S. governmental agencies. However, not only will he most likely drop words such as “Islamic terrorism,” “radical Islam,” “jihadists,” and so forth; the all but generic term, “war on terror,” also appears to be on its way out. Obama’s logic? “Words matter in this situation because one of the ways we’re going to win this struggle is through the battle of hearts and minds.” More on the “words matter” debate.
