In light of the recent police raids and subsequent media attention,  the ICV reminds all community members to be vigiliant in reporting any  harrassment, assult or abuse which may result.

Past experience has shown that such events can often lead to a rise in  Islamaphobia extending to attacks on the Muslim community. While it is hoped that such events are a thing of the past, we would remind the community that such threats may still exist.

Please do not hesitate to report to Victoria Police and ICV any  incidents that may arise.

Berhan Ahmed’s Concern About Children and the “Media’s Duty to Report Responsibly”

Berhan Ahmed:

“These media actions could lead to attacks on the innocent, including children.”

Its interesting to note that Berhan Ahmed is concerned about Muslim children. It would be even more interesting to know what Ahmed had to say about Beslan or the bombings of schools, buses and kindergartens in Israel or elsewhere.

Ahmed offers no evidence that Muslim children or  have ever been attacked  in this country previously. Why is he suggesting this could happen now?

He goes on “The world now knows that this complex situation has to be fixed. And it also has to fix the problem of disaffected Somali youth feeling that their needs and those of their ancestral country have been ignored. The raids across Melbourne yesterday will not solve these problems.”  Err, why not?

Now it’s up to “the world” to fix Islam’s problems. No thank you, I ain’t buying any.

In this country, Muslims are responsible for the terror brought by their own people.

And no, its not “our” fault, if we are ignoring the poor young disaffected Islamic youth. Shape up or ship out.

It is a widely-held belief, and so it is stated in one authoritative publication after another, that Islam experienced a Golden Age in the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth centuries. During this period, it is held, Muslim scholars contemplated the mysteries of the universe: they mapped the earth and the stars; they evolved new mathematical systems; they wrote advanced treatises on subjects as diverse as medicine and philosophy; and they raised architectural masterpieces, palaces and places of worship that had no peer in the savage world of contemporary Europe.

Presiding over this flowering of science and arts were semi-legendary Caliphs such as Harun al-Rashid (for whom was composed Scheherazade’sThousand and One Nights) in a vast and fabulously wealthy Baghdad, then the home to an estimated one million souls. Contemporary Cordoba, the capital of Al-Andalus, was said to compare with Baghdad in terms of wealth, and was home, apparently, to half a million. No city of Christian Europe, it is said, had at that time more than 50,000 people.

Indeed, it was to Islam and the Islamic world, we are told, that the benighted peoples of Europe owed the revival of their own civilization: For it was Islamic scholars who, displaying a respect for learning entirely absent amongst Europeans, preserved the masterpieces of the Classical world, and had subsequently transmitted them again to Europe as soon as the natives of that continent were willing or able to appreciate and value them. And, so the story goes, Islam remained culturally and materially superior to Europe until the whole edifice was destroyed by the barbarians of Europe (Crusaders) and the barbarians of Central Asia, the Mongols.

There is scarcely a single non-Muslim inhabitant of England, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Spain, or any other country in Western Europe who, knowing what he now knows, or perceives, would not, if he could rewind the clock, undo the policy of permitting large-scale — or even small-scale — immigration by Muslims, and almost all, if not all, of such inhabitants would gladly, if they could, have halted all Muslim immigration altogether.

It has become a permanent security nightmare, and a permanent threat to the legal and political institutions, and social arrangements, everywhere accepted in the Western world. That large-scale Muslim presence has required tens of billions of dollars to be spent, now and forevermore, on monitoring of Muslim populations and guarding airports, train stations, subway stations, bus terminals, airplanes and trains and busses, ports, government buildings, churches and synagogues, all identifiably Jewish institutions including day-schools, all the most important Christian sites (such as the Vatican), museums (whose contents offend Muslim sensibilities) and much more.

Every country in the West has developed institutions, laws, has permitted the free inquiry that permits the enterprisee of science, has created conditions for the creation of works of art, none of which, and not for one minute, could have been created by Muslims or under Islamic rule.

And everywhere in the Lands of the Infidels thelarge-scale presence of Muslims has created a situation of much greater unpleasantness, expense, and physical insecurity than would exist without such a presence. That no one in Western Europe now denies; the quarrel is over what can or should be done about that.

Stop, for god’s sake stop, importing trouble—and Muslim immigrants, as a whole, necessarily mean trouble, in all lands where the political and legal institutions, and social arrangements, are flatly contradicted by the Shari’a. Muslims are obligated to change or tear down those institutions, in order to remove all “obstacles to Islam.” It is not special or individual malice that prompts that attitude. That is their duty, a central duty. Why not come to fully and soberly understand that duty, and out of a minimal sense of self-preservation, cease to import those into our lands (America, Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Australia, and every other place that has so generously admitted, under a twisted definitiion of “refugees,” people who do not, and can not, wish our ways or institutions or constitutions well.
