Gaddafi calls for jihad against Switzerland over minaret ban

Of course. Because resisting Islam causes wars and infidels are responsible for them.

Because Muhammad said, “I have been ordered to fight against people until they say that “there is no god but Allah”, that “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah”, they pray, and pay zakat (religious taxes.)  If they do that, their lives and property are safe.”

Not to worry: every enlightened progressive knows that jihad  means peaceful inner struggle. Nothing to worry, right?

BENGAZI: Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi turned up the heat in his country’s dispute with Switzerland on Thursday, calling for jihad against it over a ban adopted last year on the construction of minarets, reports AFP.

“It is against unbelieving and apostate Switzerland that jihad (holy war) ought to be proclaimed by all means,” Kadhafi said in a speech in the Mediterranean coastal city of Bengazi to mark the birthday of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed.

“Apostate” Switzerland because Islam teaches that all people were originally Muslim.

“Jihad against Switzerland, against Zionism, against foreign aggression is not terrorism,” Kadhafi said.

“Any Muslim around the world who has dealings with Switzerland is an infidel (and is) against Islam, against Mohammed, against God, against the Koran,” the leader told a crowd of thousands in a speech broadcast live on television.

But hey, not to worry: deep down they all want peace. Anyway, isn’t a caliph needed to call a jihad?  Think we can pacify him with another 5 billion jiziya?

This is from a BBC interview with Shaykh al-Qaradawi, which was published on BBC Arabic on 6 Feb, entitled “Al-Qaradawi to BBC: Freedom Is Produced by the Application of the Shari’ah.” I saw bits and pieces of this translated to English on other news sites, but I never found the entire article, so here you go. I found the last two paragraphs to be the most interesting, where on one hand he compares the lack of freedom of religion in the Hijaz to the fact that the Vatican doesn’t allow proselyting in its territory, but then on the other hand he goes on to say that there should be no proselyting of other faiths at all among Muslims. So why even waste the time with the Vatican comparison, if there’s no freedom of religion in Islam at all?

The Presbyterian Church in the United States (PCUSA) is about to release a report which denounces Israel as a “racist” nation which has absolutely no historical, covenantal, or theological right to the Holy Land. The report calls for the United States to withhold financial and military aid to Israel and for boycotts and sanctions against Israel. That’s not all. The report also endorses a Palestinian “right of return” and “apologizes to Palestinians for even conceding that Israel has a right to exist.” According to the press release, it also states that Israel’s history begins only with the Holocaust and that Israel is “a nation mistakenly created by Western powers at the expense of the Palestinian people to solve the ‘Jewish problem’.” Phyllis Chesler

I have to wonder though, why now? Liberals always spin the real deal with their politically correct appeasement rhetoric  until the truth bites them in the ass and their forced to admit the truth.  This is one of those examples.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has become the first Obama Administration official to publicly describe last year’s deadly shootings at Ft. Hood, Tex., as a terrorist act, according to a search of news clips and transcripts.

“Violent Islamic terrorism … was part and parcel of the Ft. Hood killings,” Napolitano told the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday morning. “There is violent Islamic terrorism, be it Al Qaeda in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen or anywhere else, [and] that is indeed a major focus of this department and its efforts.”

I pretty much said what I had to say about the Fort Hood massacre in the first couple of weeks, because it was perfectly obvious within about 48 hours that 14 people (including an unborn child) had died so that “diversity” might live. As is the way, the official version is taking longer to catch up to what anyone not marinated in brain-eating PC mush could see from the get-go. The Boston Globe has a story on a new army report, unfortunately completed too late for last month’s whitewash:

Greg Sheridan says Kevin Rudd’s new white paper on counter terrorism is much better than its many critics claim:

For example, have you heard Hezbollah terror groups are operating in Australia? It’s in the white paper, but not the media.

Have you heard the government has declared the level of terror threat a society faces depends on the size and composition of its Muslim minority? It’s in the white paper but not the media….

For example, the white paper states of violent jihadism: “The scale of the problem will continue to depend on factors such as the size and make-up of local Muslim populations, including their ethnic and-or migrant origins, their geographical distribution and the success or otherwise of their integration into their host society.”

This is a statement of the obvious but it is normally not allowed to be said. It begs the question: is it necessary for a liberal Western society to encourage immigration from predominantly Muslim countries with histories of significant minority support for extremism, when it is obvious such immigration will lead to big problems?

So far I’m with Sheridan. But I can’t quite buy his defence to the most obvious criticism – that a paper which announces the real threat now comes from within the Muslim community in Australia prompts measures almost entirely aimed at stopping boat people and visiting jihadists instead.

First, Sheridan caricatures the argument, and draws a false analogy with a country facing a far bigger and more entrenched Muslim minority, drawn from a more radicalised part of the globe, and brought into a country without our strong immigrant tradition:

Two chief lines of criticism of the government have emerged. One is that because the white paper and Kevin Rudd’s remarks concentrate on the growing home-grown terror threat, he should have announced millions of dollars for domestic counter-radicalisation programs, as is done in Britain. This would be a catastrophe… Britain’s anti-radicalisation program is a cross between a fiasco and a disaster. It has empowered extremists, defined extremely conservative Islam as mainstream and demoralised moderates.

And he draws also a false distinction between Australia’s society and Britain’s in suggesting an alternative solution:

The best counter-radicalisation program is a good, open decent society. Our settlement model is infinitely better than Britain’s.

Liverpool rapists scream abuse at victim after being jailed at Liverpool Crown Court

TWO rapists were wrestled to the cells as violent scenes erupted when were put behind bars for a total of 17 years.

Sadiq Hussein, 20, and Abdillahi Adan, 18, hurled vicious abuse at their victim as they were each locked up for eight-and-a-half years. Hussein, of Chatsworth Drive, Edge Hill, and Adan, of Daniel Davies Drive, Toxteth, both denied rape, but were convicted by a jury.

The pair tried to jump from the dock and had to be restrained by security guards and police officers as they screamed threats and insults at their 18-year-old victim.

Liverpool Crown Court heard they had “preyed upon” their vulnerable victim and led her into Princes Park, Toxteth, after she asked for directions.

Judge David Aubrey QC said: “While you both raped her, one after the other, she was distressed, she was crying, she was crying for help and she was crying for you to stop.

“Her fear, anxiety, apprehension, trepidation is in my judgement immeasurable.

“But notwithstanding her cries for you to stop and her cries for help neither of you desisted.”

Catholic News (February 24, 2010)- Pakistani politicians and Church leaders are appealing for calm after a Muslim mob in Karachi attacked two churches and a Christian community.

About 150 armed Muslims raided a Christian colony in the Pahar Ganj area of Karachi on Feb. 21. They shot at houses, beat Christians, vandalized vehicles and destroyed shops, UCA News reports.

Four motorcycles were burnt and two auto rickshaws and several shops destroyedduring the two-hour attack.
