There are two differences: In 1000 AD, no one would have tolerated liberal quislings in positions of authority siding with the Muslims, or Western Civilization would have ceased to exist centuries ago, just as many great civilizations in the Middle East ceased to exist when they fell to this barbarous cult. Also, in 1000 AD, Muslims weren’t in the process of acquiring nuclear weapons.

The usual: imam Rauf presents himself as a “moderate”, and if he doesn’t get his mosque, the worlds a.5 gazillion muslims will come to kill us all. Anyhow, muslims are now ‘part of the fabric of this country, they are ‘here to stay’ and you filthy kafirs just gotta deal with it, or else…..

Fresh clashes hit Indian Kashmir

Classic jihad. After driving out all Hindus, Sikhs, Animists, the few Christians the Himalaya valley is  (still) not Islamic enough. Islam is not a half-assed effort…..

Once Erdogan’s ‘reforms’ are completed, the learned anal-ysts in the state department, the lame stream media and our political elites  will  be  caught with their pants down, just like they were back when the Ayatollah Khomeini deposed the shah of Iran and started the ‘Islamic Revolution’.

Erdogan advances his agenda in the name of democracy. The European Union, still eying Turkey as an eventual member, may applaud “democratic reforms” for their own sake, without a thought to how they may be misused to the detriment of Turkey and to Europe, and by those with an agenda to advance the Islamization of both. In other words, Ergodan is advancing the appearance of democracy because it is a useful tool for the moment, and good public relations.

After all, democracies are only as good as the values that inform their participants, who may choose to vote all manner of tyrannies upon themselves, including Sharia. This notion, of course, is most often obscured by two politically correct dogmas: first, that we all ultimately share the same values and vision for the world’s future, the West and the Muslim world alike. Second, there is the article of faith among Western elites that Islam is peaceful and tolerant, so more Islam can only be good for a peaceful, tolerant society… as long as it’s that true, “moderate” Islam we keep hearing so much about.

From those, one is supposed to conclude that democracy in Turkey will simply unblock a universal impulse to coexist in peace and equality, and in an advanced, tolerant, and pluralistic society. That assumption, after all, was fundamental to the game plan in Iraq and Afghanistan. But it’ll fix up Turkey straightaway, right?

No, there is a far more fundamental question of values and priorities that informs Turkey’s character and eligibility to join the EU. An update on this story. “Turkey backs constitutional changes,” from BBC News, September 12/JW

9/11 remembrance: Spitting on their graves

Because everyone knows it was actually da Joooos (or Hymies as Jackson refers to them) that carried out 9/11. And yes, he really said “it’s morally right to let Islamists” build next to Ground Zero…

(The Hill)– Rev. Jesse Jackson said Saturday that allowing the mosque project near Ground Zero was a test of tolerance that the U.S. would pass, stressing that associating Islam with the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks was “unsound.”

“Many immediately associated that with Islam, which is just unfounded, untrue,” Jackson said on Al-Jazeera. “Muslims were killed and Christians and Jews, black white and brown in the attack 9/11.”

To group one religion with the attack “is just fundamentally wrong, it is unsound,” Jackson said.

“And so we argue that the cultural center should exist in downtown New York if that’s the choice of Islamists because that’s a constitutional right, it’s morally right,” he added.

Jackson was asked whether the controversy was an “acid test” of whether the U.S. had become less tolerant.

“It’s an acid test but we’ll pass the test,” the civil rights activist and two-time presidential hopeful said.
