The full extent of the police and criminal prosecution powers that the European Union has over British citizens can be revealed today.

A Mail on Sunday investigation has uncovered an alarming array of new EU controls over justice and home affairs for which no one has voted, and most are unknown to the public.

These include:

• Europol, the £60 million-a-year European criminal intelligence agency, whose officers have diplomatic immunity.
• An 800-strong paramilitary police force called the European Gendarmerie Force.
• The European Arrest Warrant, which now allows British citizens to be seized in the UK and sent without appeal to foreign jails for months or years without bail while awaiting trial.

Europol now has more than 650 officials at its headquarters in The Hague, from where it directs investigations across Europe.

When its Euro police officers are operating in the UK they have diplomatic immunity and cannot be touched by the British judiciary.

Europol’s director is Rob Wainwright, 43, a Welsh-speaking former British civil servant who joined Europol last year. He and his officials will move into a new £8.5 million building next year.

Helping Muslims to properly understand the meaning of “kill the unbelievers wherever you find them”- how good is that?

On the face of it, the Australian Government becoming involved in the accreditation of Islamic schools in Indonesia sounds about as unlikely as Madonna giving dancing lessons to the Pope.

However it’s not as implausible as it sounds, and it is about to happen as part of a new partnership agreement that aims to foster development in Indonesia and promote a strong and binding relationship with Australia.

The partnership will focus on a $500 million education program to be managed by AusAid that will see Australian experts involved in school construction, school and district management and Islamic school accreditation.

AusAid has called for tenders from qualified parties to oversee and monitor the program, which will include the building of around 2000 new junior secondary schools, and direct support to 1500 private Islamic schools to reach accreditation against national education standards.

Whoopi Goldberg on Tuesday demonstrated an absolutely staggering ignorance concerning a variety of subjects.

Appearing on Fox News’s “O’Reilly Factor,” Goldberg admitted not knowing what a madrasa is, said it wasn’t the Japanese that attacked America at Pearl Harbor, and claimed Muslims in America are more persecuted than Jews (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Feel safe? This little boy has been strip-searched for your protection

This video has already gone around the world and back, but it is worth posting here to emphasize that this whole absurd TSA controversy has come about because of the government’s refusal to admit the nature of the threat. If the TSA, and the DHS, and the State Department, and all the rest of them, acknowledged the reality of the Islamic jihad against the U.S. instead of ignoring and denying it, it would be possible to formulate some sensible screening policies. That is the easy solution to this problem, and one that will never be adopted.

As I wrote here, the TSA wastes “huge amounts of time, money, and resources by pretending that everyone is an equal threat to launch a terror attack — Baptist grandmothers in wheelchairs just as much as young Pakistani Muslim males. The only answer at this point, and even it is not perfect, would be to institute Israeli-style profiling of air passengers. The Israelis have run an efficient and terror-attack-free air service for years, without all these invasive security measures. But to emulate them, of course, would mean to recognize in an official way that Muslims are a greater risk to commit terror attacks than Methodists or Mennonites. And in today’s politically correct environment, the Obama Administration and the TSA would rather see another jihad mass-murder of American citizens on the scale of 9/11 or worse than do anything to suggest that.”

Huckabee Slams ‘Unconstitutional Strip Searches’

Fox News host Mike Huckabee slammed President Barack Obama’s defense of the Transportation Security Administration’s new intrusive pat-down screening measures at airport security checkpoints. On his website Monday, the former governor of Arkansas and potential 2012 GOP presidential candidate wrote that he disagreed with Obama’s assessment that “there isn’t a choice about the federal fondling and groping of the private parts of totally law-abiding citizens by government agents.”

Huckabee issued a challenge to Obama to submit his family to the same “humiliating and unconstitutional electronic strip searches by machines that are making its manufacturers filthy rich and the flying public hopping mad.” He wrote: “If you don’t find anything wrong with these practices that presume the guilt of an American before he or she proves innocence, then I ask you to take your wife, your two daughters, and your mother-in-law to Reagan National Airport and have them go through the full body scanner, and then be subjected to the same and full body grabbing grope by the government agents that you authorized to do it. Do it in public where all can see.

“When you do that,” Huckabee added, “maybe some of the rest of us won’t be as angry as watching our wives, daughters, and mothers humiliated and degraded like criminals just in order to fly on a plane.”

Mike Tyson is in talks with businessman Moshe Malamud to launch a high-end restaurant chain, a source said. The two talked shop at Malamud’s favorite kosher eatery, Solo, on Madison Avenue, where Tyson dined with his pregnant wife, Lakiha Spicer, on mushroom soup and mixed vegetables. Tyson, who announced his decision to follow a strict vegan diet last spring, is said to have interest in breaking into the kosher-food business. “They discussed the concept as well as the name, but nothing was finalized,” a rep for Solo said. Tyson’s rep had no comment.
