Another Australian senator has stepped up to oppose the political class’s embrace of COVID-19 powers as if they were permanent, unbridled, and unlimited.

Last week, South Australian Senator Alex Antic (LNP) joined the ranks of dissenters telling Real America’s Voice host, Steve Bannon:

“…we’ve given away a lot of our liberties and freedoms to our unelected bureaucrats. I’ve been a strong opponent of that, particularly for the last six months.”

Who Will Be Held Responsible for this Devastation?

If the pandemic policy response had taken the form of mere advice, we would not be in the midst of this social, economic, cultural, political disaster. What caused the wreckage was the application of political force that was baked into the pandemic response this time in a way that has no precedent in human history. 

The response relied on compulsion imposed by all levels of government. The policies in turn energized a populist movement, Covid Red Guard that became a civilian enforcement arm. They policed the grocery aisles to upbraid the maskless. Drones swarmed the skies looking for parties to rat out and shut down. A blood lust against non compliers came to be unleashed at all levels of society. 

Lockdowns granted some people meaning and purpose, the way war does for some people. The compulsion to bludgeon others trickled down from government to the people. Madness overtook rationality. Once this took place, there was no longer a question of “Two weeks to flatten the curve.” The mania to suppress the virus by ending person-to-person contact extended to two years.

Confirmed coronavirus cases linked to a previously reported outbreak on a party boat cruise on Sydney Harbour on December 3 attended the club, authorities said.

NSW Health has classified anyone who was at Finnegan’s Hotel from 6.30pm Friday to 2.30am on Saturday as a close contact, directing them to get tested and isolate for a week.

“This venue was visited by confirmed cases of COVID-19,” the department said, in a statement on Monday night.

“It is likely some of these cases have the Omicron variant of concern.”

Newcastle recorded its first Omicron case on Sunday, a female traveller who had returned from the United Kingdom.

She is isolating at home.

 

It is no secret that Shrillary has a rather twisted concept of democracy. But then again, there are many countries that call themselves ‘democratic’ that are nothing but totalitarian hell holes. Obamunism ruined America, let’s not forget that.

Hillary Clinton said if President Trump wins in 2024, it ‘could be the end of our democracy.’ Our democracy was saved the two times the American people rejected her at the ballot box.

Vaccines and Power

• Given Germany’s notorious history of brutally stigmatizing various minority populations, it is shocking and outrageous that a German “research institute” and the Hamburg-based weekly news magazine would sink to such sleazy malice.

• The U.S. Constitution is not “waived” due to disease or natural disaster. We must beware of politicians and other officials who seek to exercise power through “mandates” without a single vote or the active exercise of informed consent.

• COVID-19 is a serious disease, but it bears constant repeating that the recovery rate now is between 97% and 99.75%.

• We must resist authoritarian impulses and exercises by various officials seeking to consolidate power and impose their will over the constitutional processes and guarantees we enjoy. Our Constitution was designed and ratified for exactly such challenges and it has endured 231 years through a myriad of challenges far more grave than a virus.

COVID-19 is a serious disease that can have deadly consequences. The good news is that now the recovery rate is between 97% and 99.75%. As the world approaches its second full year grappling with the ever-mutating virus and the public health response, some serious public policy and political questions require attention:

More than 1,000 carrying signs and flags gathered outside Melbourne’s state parliament before walking down Bourke Street to Carlton Gardens.

Protesters were shouting “sack Dan Andrews”, “free Victoria” and “my body, my choice” as they walked in protest of the vaccine mandates.

There was chaotic scenes in the Melbourne CBD as the protest clashed with the Melbourne marathon with both events causing road closures.

“These mandates need to stop, they need to let people get back to work,” a woman at the protest told ABC News.

In Victoria vaccines are required for entry into most venues and workplaces with the latest data from Victoria Health says 92 per cent of Victorians aged 12 and over are now fully vaccinated.

In Sydney, protestors turned out in Hyde Park in opposition of vaccine mandates for the entertainment, creative arts and healthcare industries.

Protestors were beating drums and blowing whistles as they marched from Hyde Park to Prince Alfred Park where a stage was set up with speakers and live music.

Mohammedans are gaslighting us

Ideologues whip up intolerant fury and then pretend to care about the victims.

Two sentiments always emerge whenever IslamistsMohammedans try to regulate speech through murder, as in the horrific killing of Samuel Paty in a Parisian suburb last Friday. We’re told the killer does not in any way represent Islam or Muslims. Yet in the same breath, we are told that the perceived insult against Islam for which the act was committed is deeply hurtful to ‘the Muslim community’ or was a gratuitous ‘abuse’ of free speech. This line always comes with the perfunctory preface ‘nothing justifies murder, but…’.

This now familiar sleight of hand has been used routinely since the fatwa against Salman Rushdie in 1989. It shifts scrutiny away from the attacker and focuses it on the victim. What did Samuel Paty do to put himself in such obvious danger? How could he have acted differently? More sensitively? What sensible, safe, more civilised middle ground did he callously stride away from to his predictable doom? This reflexive victim-blaming is practised by people who think they are engaging in an enlightened act of inclusiveness and understanding towards Muslims.
