Nearly two-thirds of ‘child’ refugees who were questioned about their real age after coming to Britain were found to be adults, an official report has found.

In one year, 65 per cent of asylum seekers assessed after claiming to be juveniles were judged to be over 18.

The report, by immigration watchdog David Bolt, revealed that the Home Office received 2,952 asylum applications from unaccompanied children in the year to June last year.

Out of these there were 705 age disputes – around a quarter of the total – where officials suspected the individual was lying about their age. Of these, 618 cases were resolved and 402 – or 65 per cent – were found to be adults.

If these asylum seekers had been treated as children it would have left councils and local taxpayers facing a care bill of millions of pounds a year.

Hungary’s conservative-populist premier Viktor Orbán has won a third term in office in a landslide election victory.

With the votes counted, Europe Elects is sharing stats which show Fidesz, the party founded by Prime Minister Orbán while he was a young anti-Communist dissident, has won not merely a decisive majority but an outright super-majority, along with minor allied parties — allowing changes to the national constitution.

Far-right nationalist party Jobbik came in second place, but leader Gábor Vona has resigned from the party which he has headed since 2006, having promised to do so if he failed to achieve a breakthrough. He is expected to remain active in frontline politics, however.

France: 60 Per Cent Rise in Extremism Jihad Terror Since Bataclan Terror Attack 

At the time of the November 2015 coordinated assaults at the French national stadium and the Bataclan theatre, the FSPRT contained 11,400 cases. Less than two years later, the file contains 18,550 cases with Le Figaro commenting: “The file is constantly growing.”

Sociologist Olivier Galland has slammed many of his fellow academics for having a myopic view of radicalisation in France, saying that the effect of Islam is more important than social factors like poverty.

After the Bataclan attacks in 2015, Galland launched a survey of high school pupils on the subject of radicalism and found that Muslim students, in particular, were the most tolerant of violence committed in the name of religion Libération reports.

The results of the study, which were published earlier this week, showed that Muslim pupils were often much more illiberal than their non-Muslim counterparts and Galland has claimed that it is the effect of the religion of Islam, rather than simply social factors that drive radicalisation among them.

Labour-controlled Hackney Borough Council is sending uniformed ‘Enforcement Officers’ to mosques to encourage them to report “hate crimes”.

“Our enforcement officers are visiting mosques today to speak to residents about hate crime concerns,” the London municipal authority announced on its Twitter feed.

“If you face anti-Muslim hate, report it to @TellMamaUK and always dial 999 in an emergency,” it added, concluding on a ‘#WeStandTogether’ hashtag.

Tell MAMA is a controversial organisation which has received significant government funding — three payments all topping £45,000 in 2015 — and has previously denied any connection between Muslim communities and grooming gangs, and claimed “events such as the EU referendum and popular debates around immigration and terrorism play into mainstream xenophobic, racist and anti-Muslim sentiment”.

Salafism — the radical Islamic ideology to which international terror groups such as Islamic State and al-Qaeda are usually said to subscribe — has grown rapidly in recent years, according to security statistics reported by Tagesspiegel.

Terrorism is a method of warfare. It is silly to proclaim a “war on terrorism” when Islam is the ideology that causes it.

Leumeah High School in Sydney’s south-west is asking Society and Culture students to deliver a five-minute oral presentation on the ‘social exclusion faced by people of Muslim faith in Australia’.

The Year 12 Higher School Certificate students are also required to explain ‘the barriers’ Muslims face in ‘accessing socially-valued resources’ in a YouTube video.
