Robert Spencer in PJ Media: UN Human Rights Chief: ‘Legal Obligation to Stop Hate Speech’

Jordanian Islamo agitprop Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein holds the position of High Commissioner at the OIC controlled United Nations.  He demands that our GOD-given right to freedom of speech  is subjected to Islamic law, the shari’a. In that case Muslims get to decide what our “special duties and responsibilities” are.

The jihad against free speech continues, and virtually no one is paying attention to how rapidly it is advancing. Robert Spencer’s latest in PJ Media:

United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein declared last week that the nations of the world “have a legal obligation to stop hate speech and hate crimes.” This comes just as Muslim countries are planning to demand that the UN explore “legal options” to stamp out “blasphemy” on social media.

And so the jihad against the freedom of speech is looking to heat up considerably in the near future.

Al Hussein lamented:

[A]cross the world, the politics of division and the rhetoric of intolerance are targeting racial, ethnic, linguistic and religious minorities, and migrants and refugees.

Channeling Hunter S. Thompson, he added:

Words of fear and loathing can, and do, have real consequences.

To forestall those consequences, he demands governments must take action:

States have no excuse for allowing racism and xenophobia to fester, much less flourish. They have the legal obligation to prohibit and eliminate racial discrimination, to guarantee the right of everyone, no matter their race, color, national or ethnic origin, to equality before the law.

Al Hussein insisted that criminalizing “hate speech” was not an assault on the freedom of speech:

It is not an attack on free speech or the silencing of controversial ideas or criticism, but a recognition that the right to freedom of expression carries with it special duties and responsibilities.

His denial is hollow. What he is describing is precisely an attack on free speech and the silencing of controversial ideas or criticism. Al Hussein is likely well aware of that fact.

This has been a years-long chess game: first came the charge — ridiculous on its face but relentlessly and indefatigably repeated — that to speak honestly about how jihad terrorists use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and make recruits among peaceful Muslims constituted “hate.” Then came the likewise specious charge that “hate speech” was not “free speech,” and was capable of being identified by neutral, impartial observers, and that it did not deserve the protection that various governments gave to the freedom of speech.

None of that is true. In reality, hate speech is a subjective judgment based on the political perspectives of the one doing the evaluating.

Freedom of speech protections were first instituted in order to ensure that speech that was hated by the party in power could still be aired. The freedom of speech is our fundamental bulwark against tyranny, and prevents tyrants from declaring opposition to their will to be “hate speech” and thereby outlawing it.

But I never was any good at chess, and now Facebook and Twitter have blocked 90% of their daily referrals from Jihad Watch, my news and commentary site tracking jihad activity in all its forms, and both domestically and internationally. The site is also blocked by many Internet service providers in the UK and Europe.

This represents one fulfillment of Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein’s demand, which other members of the political elites, particularly among the EU, have made previously. These clampdowns are a manifestation of those elites’ growing anxiety in the face of the populist movement that caught them unaware in the UK with Brexit and in the U.S. with Trump, and that threatens to overturn their hegemony in Europe in the near future. They’re doing everything they can to make sure that as few people as possible wake up to how they’ve destroyed Europe with their disastrous Muslim migrant policies, and now threaten to destroy North America as well….

Italy: Muslim Mother Shaves Head of Daughter Who Refused to Wear Veil

A Muslim mother has shaved the head of her 14-year-old daughter in Bologna, Italy, on learning that the child was taking off her headscarf as soon as she would leave the house.

The eighth-grade girl would reportedly put her headscarf back on just before returning to the family home, but her deception was eventually caught by her mother on Wednesday, who summarily cut off all her hair.

Toronto Kuwaiti-born Imam, Ahmed Shehab, a former President of Um-Al-Qurra Islamic School who was a candidate for Mayor of Toronto in 2003, published a full-page ad commending Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau for building a close and strong relationship with the Muslim community.

The ad, which appears on the Canadian newspaper in Arabic Al Watan (Issue 244, June 24, 2016) features a joint picture of Trudeau and the Imam Shehab, pictures of Trudeau praying in a mosque and breaking the fast with Muslims accompanied with the following text (originally in Arabic):

“Sticking to his tradition to join Muslims in their holidays, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau broke the [Ramadan] fast with a group of Muslims in Canadian capital Ottawa in the first day of the month of Ramadan. 

“On his Facebook page he posted a video clip featuring himself having dinner with senior Muslim members of his [Liberal] Party. This video was liked by millions. 

“The Canadian Prime Minister is known of his strong relationship with Muslims [already] before assuming power in Canada. A video showed him vising a mosque and praying the evening prayer with Muslims during the month of Ramadan in 2013, two years before being elected [to Prime Minister]. 

In addition, we’d like to commend [Liberal] MP Mark Holland for fasting the entire month of Ramadan as he did last year, even though he is not Muslim.”

An imam given space for his worshipers to pray at a Perth Anglican church has justified the killing of ex-Muslims under Islamic law and suggested Jews are behind a gay agenda.

Feizel Chothia has published a Facebook post titled, ‘The Islamic Punishment for Apostasy’, only days after Daily Mail Australia captured the leader of a fundamentalist Islamist group calling for the death of former Muslims.

The imam has also made the declaration only weeks after he appeared on ABC television hailing his friendship with Anglican Reverend Peter Humphries.

Imam Chothia compared the killing of ex-Muslims for apostasy to Western nations executing citizens for treason, but he did not explicitly call for them to be executed.

He compared the killing of apostates, those who leave Islam, to punishment for treason

‘Just as states such as Britain or the United States consider high treason a major crime, so Islam prescribes capital punishment for apostates,’ he said on Wednesday.

‘Certainly, the protection of society is the underlying principle in the punishment for apostasy in the legal system of Islam.’

His sentiments comes only four days after Daily Mail Australia exclusively recorded Hizb ut-Tahrir spokesman Uthman Badar at a public forum in south-west Sydney explaining how he supported the death penalty for ex-Muslims.

‘The ruling for apostates as such in Islam is clear, that apostates attract capital punishment and we don’t shy away from that,’ Mr Badar said in the presence of children at Bankstown library.

 Last month, Imam Chothia appeared on ABC News 24 with Anglican Reverend Peter Humphries, who has offered Muslims adjoining land for a mosque.

Anne Aly has for years been an Islamic supremacist foe of free discourse. In August 2014 I wrote here about her false claims that Islam doesn’t sanction beheading and grants equality of rights to women. Instead of responding on substance, which I understand that she could not really do since I had produced numerous Qur’an verses that rather directly showed her to be lying. So instead she claimed that she had received “hate mail” from Jihad Watch readers; six months later that claim had morphed into death threats. Predictably, that became the story, as dubious as her claims were, not her deceptions.

Now, if she gets her way in Australia, she could just have me arrested — not for the alleged hate mail or death threats, but for my initial post exposing her deceptions. This proposed law clearly would establish Muslims as a protected class, beyond all criticism, which would have the effect of allowing the jihad to advance unimpeded and unopposed.

An Australian MP has called for tougher speech laws so that it is illegal to offend Muslims because of their religion.

Anne Aly, Australia’s first female Muslim MP (pictured), said that race discrimination laws should be expanded to cover insults based on religion as well.

Restrictive speech laws Down Under have banned people from saying anything which could “offend or insult” people because of their race.

As Heat Street has previously reported, the Australian government is mounting a push to rewrite the legislation so that words must “harass or intimidate” before they become a matter for the courts.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said the legislation in question – Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act – has “lost its credibility” and needs to change.

However, Aly proposes doing the opposite – keeping the lower standard for the law, and adding “religion” to the current list of “race, colour or national or ethnic origin”.

Speaking to The Australian, she said: “I find it a little bit strange that someone can call you a ‘dirty Arab’ and that be covered under the bill, but if they called you a dirty Muslim you’re not covered.”…
