Twitter Locks the Accounts of James O’Keefe and Project Veritas

Social media platform Twitter has locked the accounts of both Project Veritas and James O’Keefe following a recent report relating to Facebook’s VP of Integrity, Guy Rosen. The platform claims the report violates its policy on “posting private information,” and as a result, both O’Keefe’s personal account and the official account of Project Veritas have been locked, preventing them from posting.

Former ABC presenter vigorously defends ABC’s ‘Invasion Day’ headline

Former ABC presenter Quentin Dempster has defended the broadcaster’s ‘Invasion Day’ headline in a heated conversation with Sky News host Rowan Dean, saying the ABC is “statutorily required to be biased against racism”. It comes after the ABC removed the headline following bipartisan backlash over an article referring to ‘Australia Day’ being interchangeable with ‘Invasion Day’. The article listed events which will take place in capital cities across Australia on Tuesday. The ABC has now changed the headline and reconfirmed its public policy is to use the term Australia Day. Mr Dempster said it was not a “directive” for the terms to be interchangeable, but simply a “heading on an online piece which some News Corporation journalist got a hold of”. “I think the ABC changed the headline to drop the ‘Invasion Day’ to make it abundantly clear that the terms aren’t interchangeable,” he said. “I think the ABC is statutorily required to be biased against racism.” Mr Dempster dismissed the synonymous usage of the terms as “shorthand on a news item showing all the activities going on on Australia Day”. “It’s fair and objective journalism.”

Cruz: Impeachment ‘a Lot of Moralizing, Venting ‘Hatred for Donald Trump’

During an appearance on the Fox News Channel on Tuesday,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) gave a critical take of the impeachment proceedings earlier in the day for both the Trump defense team and the House Democrat impeachment managers.

The Texas Republican lawmaker signified there was room for improvement for Trump’s defense but decried House managers’ impeachment effort as “moralizing” and venting of “hatred for Donald Trump.

PARIS — French far-right leader Marine Le Pen goes on trial Wednesday on charges she broke hate speech laws by tweeting pictures of Islamic State atrocities, a case she has slammed as a violation of free speech.

The trial comes as opinion polls show Le Pen will likely face off again against Emmanuel Macron in next year’s presidential contest, after her National Rally made its strongest showing ever in the 2017 vote.

Le Pen shared the gruesome images in December 2015, a few weeks after Islamic State group jihadists killed 130 people in attacks in Paris, in response to a journalist who drew a comparison between IS and her party.
