Here we go again: Australian Muslims Whine About "Backlash"

“They’re picking on us poor Muslims” –  “You made us do it..!”

The usual song and dance after each terrorist attack. Now they’re circling the wagons over yesterdays foiled terrorist plot and tell us about “our responsibilities”-  because Muslims have none:

Berhan Ahmed in the Age: The media also have a responsibility to treat these events with care.  We must beware of overreaction to the problem here in Australia. Terrorism thrives when it is able to provoke authorities and communities to overreact and behave unjustly. The media have a particular duty to behave responsibly. African-Australians fear reprisals, just as they reject extremism and terrorism and fully support yesterday’s raids.

These young people are living with us and we have to ask the question as to why they are not satisfied with our systems. No we don’t. “it’s now time not for non-Muslims to reassure Muslims that they mean no harm” – No we don’t.

And so on and so on. Well Ahmed, let me call you a lying POS and the  f*kcwits from the AGE who print your garbage are no better. Those who are “not satisfied with our systems” can get the f*kc out and back to Somalia or Sudan. We don’t want them here. Shape up or ship out!

Questions for the Department of Immigration: Please explain why we take in as refugees people who actually feel safe enough to return to Somalia, allegedly for weapons training and to collect fatwas for a jihad? Explain why we take in people who have so little respect for our institutions that they refuse to stand for a magistrate in court?

Sally Neighbour suggests that simply screening Muslim refugees more carefully is not the answer:

Studies worldwide have shown that second and third generation members of migrant diasporas, uprooted from their homelands and native cultures, are ripe for recruitment.

Australia’s Prime Minister Kevin Rudd cannot get himself to call it Islamic Terrorism.


It is a tragedy for Australia that in such a time of need the country is led  by the nose by such a pathetic, cowardly fool from whom you get nothing but  hot air and “Climate Change”.

Even the New York Times takes notice:

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said the arrests offered a sobering reminder of the “enduring threat from terrorism at home, here in Australia, as well as overseas.”

Australia has not had a major attack on its territory in recent years. (no idea what that’s supposed to mean. It certainly doesn’t mean we’re safe with more Islamic migration…/ed)

However, a number of people are serving lengthy prison sentences for plots that have been uncovered since the government imposed tough anti-terror laws in the wake of Sept. 11, 2001. Dozens of Australians have been killed in attacks overseas, including three people who were killed in simultaneous suicide bomb attacks at two American hotels in Jakarta, Indonesia, last month.

If the ABC’s online service were to publish a long piece on the anti-terrorist raids in Melbourne this morning, which one word would it scrupulously omit?

And then there’s this:

“I also want to assure the broader Islamic community here in Victoria we understand that the overwhelming and vast majority of the Islamic faith are not terrorists. They do not support terrorism and they have successfully integrated into our community.”

Victorian Police Commissioner Simon Overland has lashed out at The Australian newspaper for putting officers conducting terror raids on Tuesday at serious risk by reporting on the terror raids even before they were carried out.

“Obviously there was reporting of these raids in The Australian newspaper this morning and I am extremely disappointed the details of this operation have been leaked and I will be vigorously pursuing the leak from my end – and I expect the Federal authorities will be doing the same,” Overland said on Tuesday morning.

Mr Overland is most concerned about  “the importance for people not to get carried away with the fact the terror suspects are Muslims. They do not support terrorism and they have successfully integrated into our community.”

Really? Where is the evidence of their “successful integration?”  How would Overland know what Muslims support?

Australia: "Fair Go" for Mehmet the Killer?

A VICIOUS killer wasting taxpayer funds in a long-running battle against deportation wants his victim’s family to give him a fair go.

But murderer Mehmet Ince’s comments have infuriated the devastated family of Melbourne plumber Ian Broadbent, who Ince callously gunned down in 1997.

Mr Broadbent’s mum, Heather McDonald, has demanded the Turkish citizen be deported and accused authorities of keeping her in the dark over the case.

“If he deserves a fair go why didn’t he think of that before he murdered my son,” she said.

Ince, 31, was released from jail in November after serving 10 years behind bars for the brutal shooting murder of Mr Broadbent.

The killer, who committed more than 30 crimes in two years after migrating to Australia in 1995, had his visa cancelled in late 2004, and his appeal against the ruling failed in early 2005.

‘Fair is fair’ … Killer Mehmet Ince is fighting to stay is Australia. Ah yes, he has a mother, too…

Under Commonwealth law, any non-Australian citizen who serves a prison sentence longer than one year is deemed to fail the character test to stay in the country.

However, Ince is in Australia awaiting a response from Immigration and Citizenship Minister Chris Evans, who he has asked to intervene.

Police make terror raid across Melbourne

A PLOT by Islamic extremists in Melbourne to launch a suicide attack on an Australian Army base has been uncovered by national security agencies.

Federal and state police, armed with search warrants, swooped on members of the suspected terror cell this morning, as they seek to arrest Australian nationals of Somali and Lebanese background in what will be the second-largest counter-terrorism operation in the nation’s history.

The men are expected to be charged with a range of terrorism-related offences.

This astonishing claim, reported as fact, appears in today’s Sunday Age:

THE Federal Government has warned that Australian icons such as the Great Barrier Reef, Kakadu National Park, the Tasmanian wilderness, Carlton Gardens and the Sydney Opera House could be damaged irreparably if the Coalition fails to support Labor’s emissions trading scheme.

Can anyone at all, even Climate Change Minister Penny Wong, claim hand on heart that this is literally true – that if the Coalition votes against Kevin Rudd’s scheme that the reef will die and the Sydney Opera House will fall into ruin?

This kind of utter nonsense is now what governments argue and newspapers print about global warming.

Enough with these lies.

Multicultural TV expands its blessings:

HEZBOLLAH’S TV station, twice banned in Australia for supporting terrorism, has been given permission to broadcast into this country after an investigation found it did not breach the anti-terrorism standard.

The Australian Communication and Media Authority (ACMA) decision on the Lebanese-based al-Manar TV station, announced yesterday, outraged Jewish groups, which said they were less concerned with the station promoting terrorism than its ‘‘vicious anti-Semitism’’.

Hezbollah, a militant Lebanese Muslim party, is banned in the United States as a terrorist organisation, but only its armed wing is proscribed in Australia. Its TV programs endorse suicide bombers, call for Israel’s annihilation, and refer to Jews as the offspring of pigs and apes.

The legal threat to Christian schools

What happens when equal rights between men and women are so widely accepted mainstream Australia hardly thinks about it? Surely it is time to acknowledge that anti-discrimination statutes have done their job?

Not according to the Victorian Government. It harbours the view that discrimination has got sophisticated – so hard to find under current law – that we must widen the law to catch more of it.

It helps to know that  McClelland is the same guy who is having a  guidebook  prepared to instruct Australians on how to avoid mentioning Islam when discussing Islamic terrorism.

Any terrorist attack in Australia would lead to a backlash against the Muslim community with vigilante action and ongoing retribution, Attorney-General Robert McClelland has warned.

Mr McClelland said Muslim leaders in Sydney were very well aware that their communities would suffer greatly in the aftermath of a terror attack.

He said any terror attack in Australia would cause loss of life, economic harm and real damage to the nation’s social fabric.

“I regret to say I think there would be very likely to be vigilante action and I regret to say there would very likely be ongoing retribution in terms of employment opportunities and social interaction,” he said.

“We at all costs must do what we can to avoid a terrorist attack for those multiplicity of reasons.”

I’m honoured to write the back page of Canada’s leading legal magazine, Canadian Lawyer. I’ve been doing it for more than three years, and it’s a tough gig — imagine how nit-picky the readers can be! But I love it because of the quality of the readers, the legal focus of the column and the regular blasts I get in the letters page.

Anyways, some of my columns are available online, so over the next little while I’m going to link to some of those. Here’s one I wrote in May about Australia’s embarrassing attempt to censor the Internet. Some excerpts:

…Australia’s government nannies have officially banned 1,370 web sites. They’ve drawn up a blacklist, just like the medieval index of banned books. Right now it’s a voluntary pilot project to which Internet service providers can submit. But if the trial run is deemed a success and made law, anyone who links to a blacklisted site can be fined $11,000 a day. That means it will be a crime not just to provide the contents of a web site, but to merely reproduce its address.

That’s not just like banning books. It’s like banning books, and banning saying the banned book’s title. It’s a lot of banning.
