Considering it’s CBS, yes it could have been worse, but it was pretty bad. I am called a “conspriacy theorist” for speaking the truth and investigating the stealth jihadists behind the mosque. Thug devleoper Sharif El- Gamal is treated with kid gloves. No mention of his rap sheet, his bullying of moderate Muslims against the mosque or the fact that  that he was just evicted from his office. He was a waiter a couple of years and suddenly became a BSD developer on the medicare fraudster’s dime, his  financier, Hisham Elzanaty, was a large funder of Hamas (exposed in the Holy Land terror funding trial) while defrauding medicare out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Worse still, Imam Feisal Rauf was packaged like a big fuzzy teddy bear. Nothing about his previous first performance on 60 minutes. It was right after 911, and Rauf blamed America for the 911 attacks. “Osama Bin Laden is made in the USA.” Watch that video here.

He, too, was given a free pass. Nothing on his sanction of Hamas or his role in the jihad warship flotilla. Imam Rauf, the self-described “head coach” of the global strategic initiative — audio here (his “players” include “the President of the United States, or the President of Malaysia, or the President of England” [sic]) said the following in tonight’s 60 minutes episode:

We received an email today about the Ground Zero mosque stating, “we will build our Victory Mosque … We will even build it on top of your grave!” The IP for the sender indicates they accessed their email account via a computer at the University of Washington.  (Gateway)

In fact, so much of a superstar is Abrahim that here in the UK, the Arabic Society invited him over from his native Libya so he could preach at a number of mosques during Ramadan. The problem for the UK Arabic Society was that Mr Ghait was arrested for flashing his nether regions to women and little girls during Ramadan, and for doing so, he was jailed for 6 weeks.

Well, instead of admitting that inviting Mr Ghait may have been a big mistake, the UK Arabic Society is playing the victim card by saying that:

“There was no way the imam would have committed the acts, and that it would destroy his future and reputation, and believed Ghait had only pleaded guilty in the hope that he would get a non-custodial sentence, which would have allowed him to go home to Libya where he had urgent business.”

“He is a world-famous imam of a mosque in Libya and has spent 15 years learning the Koran.

“It is destroying the future of a key person. It is crazy, and I just can’t believe it.” (More)

Bridge-building imam Feisal Abdul Rauf was giving a crash course in Islam for FBI agents in March of 2003.  When asked to clarify such terminology as ‘jihad’ and ‘fatwa’, Rauf stated (emphasis mine throughout):

“Jihad can mean holy war to extremists, but it means struggle to the average Muslim. Fatwah has been interpreted to mean a religious mandate approving violence, but is merely a recommendation by a religious leader.  Rauf noted that the U.S. response to the Sept. 11 attacks could be considered a jihad, and pointed out that a renowned Islamic scholar had issued a fatwah advising Muslims in the U.S. military it was okay to fight the Taliban in Afghanistan.”

Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Victor Davis Hanson, a classicist and historian at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and the author, most recently, of The Father of Us All: War and History, Ancient and Modern.

FP: Victor Davis Hanson, welcome to Frontpage Interview.

I would like to talk to you today about the proposed mega-mosque next toGround Zero and how Obama is handling it.

First, what do you make of the controversy surrounding the mosque in general?

Hanson: Thanks Jamie.

Almost everything about the controversy is disingenuous. Mr Rauf, the Kuwaiti born, Western educated physicist, and self-described Sufi cleric, heretofore has had a successful career contextualizing everything from gender apartheid in the Middle East to Sharia law and jihad, in the sense that the onus is always on Westerners not to take radical Islamists at their word or to believe what they see and hear in the Middle East.

The problem is that Mr. Rauf is more apt to fault Western perceptions of Islam when he resides in the U.S., but not so eager to discuss Islamic extremism when he visits his familiar turf in the gulf. He knows well that candid criticism ofAmerica earns accolades among the cultural elite here while candid criticism of radical Islam in the Middle East can earn something not so nice. By the way, that is called a sort of heroic “bridge-building.”

Take even the silly evocation of Cordoba: in toto it was not really a utopian medieval city of understanding, much less was it a city of tolerance during the Inquisition as the president alleged in Cairo (dates a little off, Mr. President). Mr. Rauf, the supposed Sufi version of Deepek Chopra, knew that, but he knew well also it was a rally cry of radical Islam to recapture al-Andalus. How wonderful—Cordoba sends a tingle up the legs of both Western liberals and radical Islamists, and for the opposite reasons!

They won’t build it! Hardhats vow not to work on controversial mosque near Ground Zero

Blaster David Kaiser’s hardhat says what he thinks of the mosque planned for Park Place, near Ground Zero.
A growing number of New York construction workers are vowing not to work on the mosque planned near Ground Zero.

“It’s a very touchy thing because they want to do this on sacred ground,” said Dave Kaiser, 38, a blaster who is working to rebuild the World Trade Center site.

“I wouldn’t work there, especially after I found out about what the imam said about U.S. policy being responsible for 9/11,” Kaiser said. (Daily News)

People in the Persian Gulf kingdom of Bahrain fumed yesterday that the cleric behind the proposed Ground Zero mosque toured their country under tight wraps as part of a State Department-organized goodwill tour of the Middle East.

“This man comes from America to speak with us, but we can’t find him,” said Fatah Mardine, 27, in the capital city of Manama.

Feisal Abdul Rauf greets worshippers Friday in Bahrain, but locals are angry his travel schedule is secretive.
“Why must he be so secretive? It makes me think that his visit is just for show, which makes me angry.”

After a brief public appearance on Friday in which Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf preached about finding a way to “Americanize” Islam, he and his entourage have been under lock and key, with a tightly guarded itinerary that has locals scratching their heads.

“I think it is perfectly fine that he is here. I’d love to hear his point of view, but no one can tell me when or where I can see him,” said Sanan Faisal, 31.

“There’s no justification for hiding. Imam Rauf coming here, then hiding, does not help us come closer to Americans. In fact, it does the opposite.”

The Post visited several mosques in Manama yesterday where local imams said they had no idea that Rauf was even visiting, let alone where he was speaking.

Despite the fact that the $16,000 trip was covered by taxpayers, the department, which organized the trip, repeatedly refused to disclose the details of the two-week excursion to Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

Rauf said he’d seek funds from overseas to finance the $100 million project. But a mosque spokesman refused last week to say whether they’d reject money from the Holocaust-denying and nuclear-weapons-seeking Iranian government.

Department spokesman Darby Holladay would only repeatedly say that Rauf, “has been advised not to engage in fund-raising activity” during his jaunt.

Holladay also wouldn’t say whether a representative from the department would be monitoring Rauf’s activities.

“I have no information regarding his travelling party,” he said.  More from New York Post

The Dutch government has launched a damage-limitation campaign to try to counter what it fears is the disastrous international impact of the Islam-bashing populist Geert Wilders.

Wilders, whose success in June’s general election catapulted him into the role of kingmaker in attempts to form a new coalition government, is to travel to New York to take part in protests on 11 September against the proposed Muslim community centre near Ground Zero.

Fearful Verhagen

Maxime Verhagen, the acting foreign minister and Christian Democrats’ leader, has voiced fears that Wilders’s speech in New York will tarnish Dutch reputations. He has also taken the unusual step of circulating confidential orders to Dutch diplomats around the world on how to answer questions about Wilders’s influence in a new government and on the fallout for Muslims in the Netherlands.

With characteristic robustness, Wilders has told Verhagen to mind his own business. He clearly intends to grab attention with a tub-thumping exercise in Islamophobia in New York.

“Good feeling. Important speech. No one will stop me. No mosque at Ground Zero,” he tweeted after booking a flight to New York. “Stop Islam, defend freedom” is his rallying cry.
