On May 7, 2008, in response to Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to Jordan, prominent salafi-jihadi Sheikh Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi posted on his website (Minbar Al-Tawhid wal-Jihad) a 12-page article titled “To the Worshipper of the Cross.” In it, he attacks the pope for his remarks about the Prophet Muhammad during his 2006 lecture at the University of Regensburg. Al-Maqdisi explains that he had been in prison when the remarks were made, and thus unable to express his rage – but that with the pope’s visit to Jordan, he had decided to respond, in order to fulfill “the duty of defending the Prophet.”

The  New York Times would never dream of explaining that according to traditional Islamic law a hudna can only be concluded “if Muslims are weak” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o9.16), so that they have time to gather strength to fight again more effectively.

Willful ignorance about the teachings of Islam and the light those teachings may shed on the current political situation seems to be a requirement for participation in the public debate these days.

 The only “permanent, nonviolent resolution” to differences between Muslims and non-Muslims allowed by Islamic law is the subjugation of the non-Muslims under the rule of Sharia, under which they will “pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued” (Qur’an 9:29).

WASHINGTON — The Times conducted a five-hour interview with Hamas leader Khaled Meshal at his Damascus headquarters. Mirabile dictu, they’re offering a peace plan with a two-state solution. Except. The offer is not a peace but a truce that expires after 10 years. Meaning that after Israel has fatally weakened itself by settling millions of hostile Arab refugees in its midst, and after a decade of Hamas arming itself within a Palestinian state that narrows Israel to eight miles wide — Hamas restarts the war against a country it remains pledged to eradicate.

There is a phrase for such a peace: the peace of the grave.

Westerners may be stupid, but Hamas is not. It sees the new American administration making overtures to Iran and Syria. It sees Europe, led by Britain, beginning to accept Hezbollah. It sees itself as next in line. And it knows what to do. Yasser Arafat wrote the playbook.

With the 1993 Oslo accords, he showed what can be achieved with a fake peace treaty with Israel — universal diplomatic recognition, billions of dollars of aid, and control of Gaza and the West Bank, which Arafat turned into an armed camp. In return for a signature, he created in the Palestinian territories the capacity to carry on the war against Israel that the Arab states had begun in 1948 but had given up after the bloody hell of the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

First, I must note that I have little sympathy for Coptic Christians, who are mostly found in Egypt but are also elsewhere in the Arabic world. When it comes to choosing sides, the Copts have been among the most anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, and pro-Hezbollah/Muslim Brotherhood religious sects in the Middle East. In Lebanon, they haven’t been shy about defending Hezbollah against Maronite Christians, whom they see as rivals. In Egypt, they took part in the Islamic purge and of Egypt’s Jews from the country.

The ABC, always prepared to offer a soapbox to assorted miscreants, commies, crackpots and all kinds of deviants,  keeps publishing Irfan’s drivel. In his latest expose’ Yusuf once again attacks the people he loves to hate, namely Andrew Bolt, Piers Akerman.  and Tim Blair.  As always, Yusuf tries to play the race-card and winges and whines about some of the commenters, especially those that are, lets say, not eager to submit to his abhorrent belief-system. If only we would leave it to Yusuf, and perhaps some of his assorted sharia promoting co-religionists, the world would be so much of a better place for the Mohammedan’s among us. 

Unfortunately for Yusuf, we’re not quite there yet…

The situation in Pakistan is much worse than you are hearing. Much of the coverage (here at Atlas) is the increasing power grab of pious Muslims (“fundamentalists) in SWAT and the rise of the Taliban as well. But the power that holds that fragile tinderbox together is the military, and the military appears to be fracturing. Should that happen, true Islam (“Islamists”) will take over that country. Think jihad with nukes.

Should the Pakistani military split, the Taliban will seize control. The specter of Muslim “extremists” seizing power and handing over the country’s nuclear weapons to Al Qaeda is very real.

LAHORE: The justification for suicide bombings comes from the days of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), according to Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesman for Mullah Omar. 

“They sacrificed some people, friends of Muhammad, for the sake of Islam. This is part of the jihad and part of the fighting. We will fight them and we will target them,” he told CNN.

Other states and outside experts look in horror to see what Victoria’s offensive laws against speech have wrought:

FRANK BRENNAN, the Jesuit lawyer who heads the Federal Government’s public consultations for a national human rights charter, will move today to dispel concerns by some church leaders that the charter could entail the introduction of federal religious vilification laws.

Father Brennan will tell the Australian College of Applied Psychology in a speech to be delivered this afternoon that there is a “credible argument” that religious vilification laws of the kind that already exist in Victoria ”unduly interfere with the right to freedom of expression and the right to freedom of conscience, religion and belief”.

“There are some places the law should not tread,” he will say. Victoria’s laws resulted in the controversial prosecution of a member of the Pentecostal Catch the Fire Ministries for making negative comments about Islam.

Why hasn’t the local ABC and Age campaigned against these draconian laws, when the rest of the country can see they are mad? Why did the Liberals in Victoria not vote against them?  It’s not as if none of this farce could have been predicted.

Here is a Geert Wilders’ Ten Point Plan to stop the “Islamisation of the West”:

Ladies and gentlemen, I am often asked whether I have any answers to the problem and what those might be. Well, I certainly have some answers. Here are ten things we would have to do to stop the Islamization of the West:

1. Stop cultural relativism. We need an article in our constitutions that lays down that we have a Jewish-Christian and humanism culture.

2. Stop pretending that Islam is a religion. Islam is a totalitarian ideology. In other words, the right to religious freedom should not apply to Islam.

3. Stop mass immigration by people from Muslim countries. We have to end Al-Hijra.

4. Encourage voluntary repatriation.

5. Expel criminal foreigners and criminals with dual nationality, after denationalization, and send them back to their Arab countries. Likewise, expel all those who incite to a ‘violent jihad’.

6. We need an European First Amendment to strengthen free speech.

7. Have every member of a non-Western minority sign a legally binding contract of assimilation.

8. We need a binding pledge of allegiance in all Western countries.

9. Stop the building of new mosques. As long as no churches or synagogues are allowed to be build in countries like Saudi-Arabia we will not allow one more new mosque in our western countries. Close all mosques where incitement to violence is taking place. Close all Islamic schools, for they are fascist institutions and young children should not be educated an ideology of hate and violence.

10. Get rid of the current weak leaders. We have the privilege of living in a democracy. Let’s use that privilege and exchange cowards for heroes. We need more Churchills and less Chamberlains.
