Debating the Religious, Political and Moral Legitimacy of Suicide Bombings Part 1: The Debate over Religious Legitimacy

The Arab media has recently plunged into a debate concerning the religious, political and moral legitimacy of the Palestinian suicide bombings against Israel. The leading Sunni-Islamic authorities, as well as political officials and columnists took part in the debate.

The question of the religious legitimacy of suicide attacks that prompted the debate was a non-conforming religious ruling bythe Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheik Abd Al-Aziz Bin Abdallah AAl Al-Sheik: “I am not aware of anything in the religious law regarding killing oneself in the heart of the enemy[‘s ranks], or what is called ‘suicide’. This is not a part of Jihad, and I fear that it is merely killing oneself. Although the Koran permits and even demands the killing of the enemy, this must be done in ways that do not contradict the Shari’a [Islamic Religious Law].”[1]

Access to terminal cut off for hours after tensions with police boil over

Just another test case, of course. Another soldier of Allah who believes he is above the law. When the police comes for the shakedown, he cries wolf,  and because Moslems are always the victims, an enraged mob comes to the rescue. Riots ensue….

Police and taxi drivers fought running battles using rubber bullets and stones at the main Paris airport early yesterday, blocking access to a small terminal for three hours.

The mini-riot followed the alleged brutal arrest of a taxi driver for failing to pay the monthly rent on his taxi licence. Road access to terminal three, the smallest of the three passenger sections of Charles de Gaulle airport, was obstructed from 1am to 4am.

The French interior ministry ordered an investigation into the incident and into reported tense relations between some drivers and a special police unit known as les boers.

Bare Naked Islam:

Black pastor says, “Every mosque is a breeding ground for terrorists.”

Here’s one pastor of a black church who understands what Islam’s all about: the spooked CNN tart who interviews him  gets her knickers in a twist and quickly runs to the local imam to get some ‘balance:’

Florida Christians are fighting to keep a mosque out of their neighborhood. But the condescending liberal reporter from CNN is obviously disgusted by this.

See, Islam is a religion of peace?  “Praying for the ruin and the destruction of all infidels is not permitted because it goes against Allah’s  law to invite them (to submit to Islam) ... to take the righteous path,”-

then comes the qualifiers:

“Calling for their offspring and ancestors to be eradicated is not legitimate … (except) for the tyrants among the infidels and those who violate the sanctities and harm the faithful,” he said.

Again: the soldiers of Allah are obliged to invite the unbelievers to embrace Islam. If they submit and convert, or pay the jiziya with willing submission (while feeling subdued) they will not be harmed. But those who resist Islam cause wars and they must be destroyed.(Bassam Tibi, Islamic scholar)

Sheikh Salman al-Awdah was formally Usama bin Ladin’s mentor.  Usama Bin Ladin has even praised al-Awdah in numerous audio and video messages.

RIYADH (Reuters) – Muslims should avoid prayers that call for the destruction of non-Muslims, an influential Saudi cleric said.
