Belgrade, 30 July (AKI) – Bosnia has become a haven for Islamic terrorists who feel protected by local authorities and are planning terrorist acts in various countries, experts on terrorism said on Thursday. Dzevad Galijasevic, a Bosnian expert on terrorism, told Tanjug news agency that there was a “developed network of support for Islamic terrorists” in Bosnia.

“There are about 80 prominent names in the world of terrorism, protected by a new identity,” Galijasevic said.Bosnia came under the spotlight this week after a convicted criminal and terror suspect of Tunisian origin, Karray Kamel bin Ali, known as Abu Hamza, escaped from a Bosnian jail.

“Bosnia is a base for Islamic terrorists who live here in safety, operate training camps and prepare cadres for attacks in third countries,” said Galijasevic.

Islamist Sect Leader in Nigeria Killed in Custody

The radical sect is known by several different names, including Al-Sunna wal Jamma, or “Followers of Mohammed’s Teachings” and “Boko Haram,” which means “Western education is sin.” Some Nigerian officials have referred to the militants as Taliban, although the group has no known affiliation with Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.  Disclaimer: none of this has anything to do with Islam. Can’t blame a religion of a billion peaceful muslims for a tiny minority of extremists, right?

Nigeria’s League for Human Rights says overzealous security forces are killing innocent civilians as the military tries to crush an Islamist militant sect.

League director Shamaki Gad Peter tells The Associated Press that rights workers saw the bodies of up to 20 people after troops began an offensive on the sect’s headquarters in Maiduguri on Wednesday.

He says they were unarmed and some were shot from behind and assumed to be trying to escape the mayhem. The rights worker says many other innocent people have been arrested.

The government has blamed the Boko Haram sect for days of violence in Muslim-dominated northern Nigeria and was hunting down sect members on Thursday.

Keysar Trad, Australia’s “Out of Context” apologist for cat-meat sheik Hilali is “a racist who has made  many distasteful  and offensive remarks  about Jews and Homosexuals and appears to condone violence.”

 Justice Peter McClellan judges him to be a “disgraceful and dangerous individual”.

Trad also gave out misinformation about the Islamic community.

Mr Trad, who founded the Islamic Friendship Association, faces up to $400,000 in court costs  (don’t hold your breath: Keysar and his brood are on welfare. Its you, the taxpayer, who foots the bill…/ed)

Keysar Trad defamation case against 2GB dismissed

A defamation case taken out against Macquarie Radio by Islamic Friendship Association spokesman Keysar Trad has been dismissed, with the Supreme court judge finding he has racist views.

Two years ago it was ruled the comments by 2GB radio broadcaster Jason Morrison about Keysar Trad were defamatory.

A Supreme Court jury found in Mr Trad’s favour.

The case stems from a speech Mr Trad made over the Cronulla Riots.

But the jury’s decision has been effectively quashed by today’s judgement from Justice Peter McClellan.

Today Justice McClellan ruled today that the claim should be dismissed after lawyers for 2GB argued that information claimed to be defamatory was in fact true.

Less arrests: A report says seizing fewer drug dealers could reduce violent crime

The police should tolerate some drug dealing and focus instead on reducing the violent crime linked to it, a think-tank has proposed.

The UK Drug Policy Commission said ministers should be less concerned about catching pushers and seizing narcotics.

But critics condemned the suggestion, arguing that it would leave those communities where dealing is tolerated ‘written off’.

In a report published yesterday, the commission said traditional measures of policing success – such as the number of arrests and the quantities of narcotics snatched – are of ‘ limited value’ because markets for illegal drugs are ‘large, resilient and quick to adapt’.

The study said removing small-time dealers can create a power vacuum that leads to bloody turf wars between gangs, which often end in murder, shootings and stabbings.

The dealers could instead be shepherded away from areas where they intimidate residents and endanger children, towards areas such as industrial estates, the report added.

                                                     Kadijah demands “attitude change”

A Sydney bus company has apologised to one of its customers after the driver argued with a Muslim woman over her right to wear a niqab, or veil.

Hillsbus now says its driver behaved unacceptably when he told Khadijah Ouararhni-Grech to ‘take off her mask’.

The company says its actions were born out of ignorance and not malice, but it has refused to speak publicly about the incident.

The New South Wales Government says it should serve as a clear warning to private bus operators that they need to lift their standards.

“I was approached by the bus driver who stood up from his chair and said ‘right, you can’t get on this bus with that mask on; you have to show your face and take that mask off’,” Ms Ouararhni-Grech said.

She says she told the driver it was discrimination but he still argued with her.

The revolving door between the media and Team Obama continues to rotate. Some journalists on the campaign trail were infatuated with Obama, and that’s certainly true of the Newsweek reporter who covered Obama in-depth (with the promise that nothing he learned would be revealed until after the election). Philip Klein on The American Spectator’s blog reported:

The Spanish government also blamed ETA when Islamic terrorists bombed the trains in Madrid. But ETA has no beef with Majorca. Why would ETA bomb Majorca, (an Island) when they can find easier targets in Bilbao, in the Basque Country?

Majorca sealed off after bombing

Ports and airports on the Spanish island of Majorca have been closed after a bomb at a Civil Guard base there killed two officers.

The measures – which Spain said were meant to “prevent the terrorists from fleeing” – were expected to affect many thousands of tourists.

The bomb blast, in Palmanova, comes a day after a similar attack at a barracks in Burgos, northern Spain.

That left 46 people injured and has been blamed on Basque separatists Eta.

The BBC’s Steve Kingstone in Madrid says Eta, which has been held responsible for more than 820 deaths during its decades-long campaign for an independent homeland in Spain’s Basque region, will again be the focus of police inquiries.

There was no claim of responsibility, but local politicians and police were quick to blame Eta, saying it was an attempt to take lives and cause maximum damage.

The suicide bombers who attacked two luxury hotels in Indonesia this month were aiming to kill members of the Manchester United football team, according to an internet message allegedly written by the fugitive leader of an al-Qaeda faction.

“The [Manchester United] club consists of players who are Crusaders [Christians] and therefore they did not deserve to play in a Muslim country,”
