Strasbourg: Graffiti against minarets, Muslims

The Grand Mosque of Strasbourg, now being built next to the city center, will be opened in late 2010 and accommodate at least 2,000 people.  The current building project, approved by the former UMP municipality, does not have minarets, but Roland Ries, senator and mayor, repeatedly said that if the Muslims wanted it, he saw ‘no reason’ to prevent them from building one.

Netherlands: Mosque fined for operating cell-phone jammer

Obviously they don’t want anyone outside to listen in on their hateful sermons:

The police discovered the jammer after complaints from the neighborhood. The board of the association got a proposal for an out-of-court settlement of 550 euro, but rejected it. The board wanted to bring the case to court, but nobody showed up on behalf of the association yesterday morning.

This is not surprising, given the strident Islamic supremacism and open contempt for British culture of groups like Islam4UK. But watch for the inevitable handwringing over the deep-rooted “Islamophobia” and “racism” of British society.

Many of them are descendants of African slaves brought to Iraq. Many Iraqis still refer to them by their ancestral name, abeed - meaning slaves.

Stand up and be counted!

Many Westerners find it difficult to accept that a religious war has been declared against the West; that jihadists are ready to die, wave after wave of them, in order to ensure that our way of life is destroyed. Their ideal is Islamic supremacy (only Muslims will rule because they are “superior”) and they want to return to a seventh century way of life, albeit one with cellphones, the internet, and nuclear weaponry.

Moderate, peaceful Muslims certainly exist—but how many are willing to stand up to the jihadists?

Muslims desecrate and torch church in Algeria, Christians arrested for carrying bibles

ALGIERS, Algeria – Islamists looted and burned a Protestant church in Algeria, the congregation’s leader said Monday, suggesting they were inspired by a recent spate of religious intolerance in the Arab and Muslim world.

The church — hosted in an apartment block in the city of Tizi Ouzou some 100 kilometers (60 miles) east ofAlgiers, the Algerian capital — was ransacked and set ablaze on Saturday night, several Algerian newspapers said.

The independent El Watan daily published a picture of a smoldering pile of pulpits and desks that had been brought outside for destruction. It quoted the pastor of the local Pentecostal community, Mustapha Krireche, as saying worshippers fled the temple because local police had left a gathering of anti-Christian rioters unchecked.

Pali Work Accident

A Pali terrorist militant was killed Monday in an accidental bomb explosion in the northern Gaza Strip, Hamas said. Three members of the armed wing of the governing Hamas movement were also wounded in the blast, which occurred as a result of mishandling explosives, the group said in a statement. Hamas had said the explosion was caused by Israeli shelling, but an army spokeswoman denied Israeli involvement.

Meanwhile, a security source told Ma’an that Israel was aware of an explosion near Beit Hanoun, “but as far as we can tell, it was an internal blast.”

So who do we believe, the impartial medics or the evil Zionist enemy?

Look at Hamas’ Al Qassam brigades website, where it mourns a person autotranslated as “Thaer Qassam vegetables” (I believe his real name is Thaer Kader) who died “while performing a task of Jihad” in northern Gaza. Palestine Press Agency says that one of the injured is clinically dead. Firas Press also says that it was an internal explosion.

“Israel has the full right to defend its citizens from terror and missile attacks from Hamas and Hizbullah. Turkey is the last country that can preach morality to Israel and the IDF.”

The uncharacteristically sharp statement was prompted by a press conference Erdogan held on Monday with visiting Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, during which he accused Israel of threatening peace in the region and using disproportionate force against Palestinians.

Erdogan, who, according to one Israeli official, has made lashing out at Israel his “hobby,” urged Israel to stop violating Lebanon’s airspace and territorial waters. He also called on the UN Security Council to put the same pressure on Israel regarding nuclear arms as it does on Iran.
He also criticized Israel for an air strike in Gaza on Sunday that was prompted by missile and mortar attacks from the Strip.

“What is your excuse this time?” he asked.

Erdogan then used the platform to accuse Israel of using white phosphorus shells in its offensive against Hamas in Gaza last winter.

“No one can claim that phosphorus shells are not weapons of mass destruction,” he said.

In response, the Foreign Ministry said that “Israel shows respect to Turkey and is interested in a continuation of normal relations between the countries, but we expect reciprocity and a similar approach from the Turkish side.”

According to Israeli officials, the decision to issue the statement, and the summoning of the Turkish envoy to Ayalon to hear Israel’s protest over the latest anti-Israeli show onTurkish television, came from Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

“When it comes to human rights and the treatment of minorities, the Turks don’t exactly have a sterling record,” one government official said. “Those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”

The official pointed out that Lieberman recently told Israel’s diplomats serving abroad that they should not be apologetic or attempt to ingratiate themselves with their host countries to find favor in their eyes. The foreign minister is simply now practicing what he preached, the official said.

Ayalon summoned Turkish Ambassador Oguz Celikkol to the Knesset on Monday to express outrage over a new Turkish television show that depicts Mossad agents as baby-snatchers. He called Celikkol for the meeting before Erdogan made his controversial comments.

(NY Post)- Big Apple taxpayers could be on the hook for as much as $1 billion in secu rity costs if the trials of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed and four other terrorists drag on for as long as experts think they will.

That’s a staggering sum of money, and New Yorkers shouldn’t be required to cover it on their own.

The best solution, of course, would be to deep-six the trials altogether. Terrorists belong at Gitmo — not in court.

Failing that, President Obama & Co. by rights need to come up with the cash to finance their own folly. All of it.

Fat chance there, too.

So the top guns of New York’s congressional delegation need to step up to guarantee that the federal government does right by the city.

Yep, Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, Reps. Jerry Nadler and Charles Rangel, that means you.

Given the way the fearsome foursome rolled over for the billion-dollar hit ObamaCare stands to put on New York, we’re not optimistic about the KSM expense.
