Israel’s Muslim Problem is Not Unique

The visit of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borissov to Israel this week is a timely reminder that Israel’s problems with Islam are not unique. Like Israel, Bulgaria was ruled over by the Ottoman Empire, which exported their population to Bulgaria, oppressed the native Bulgarians, seized their lands and attempted to become the dominant majority. And when the Ottoman Empire lost control over Bulgaria, it left behind a huge Muslim population in Bulgaria.

The key difference between Bulgaria and Israel, is that Bulgaria since the 1870’s forced much of its Turkic Muslim population to leave. As a result millions of Turkic Muslims left Bulgaria, leaving it a quieter place than neighboring Yugoslavia or Russia, or for that matter modern day France. Muslim clothing was banned, mosques were torn down and lands held by the Ottoman Muslim settlers were returned to native Bulgarians.

A Dutch court is hearing a petition by anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders to avoid criminal prosecution for allegedly inciting hatred against Muslims.

Mr Wilders is one of the Netherlands’ most popular politicians, having built his Freedom Party movement on anti-immigrant themes.

Charges against him stem from his March 2008 film Fitna, which juxtaposed verses from the Koran against images of terrorism by Islamic radicals.

He has also called for a ban on the Koran and said Muslim headscarves “pollute” the Dutch landscape.

Mr Wilders is expected to argue that his comments fell within the boundaries of freedom of speech and that elected officials must be allowed to speak their mind.

The Amsterdam court will rule on the petition within a week of the hearing.

Update:

The charges against far-right MP Geert Wilders have been extended to include inciting hatred towards Moroccans and non-Western ethnic minorities, de Volksrant newspaper reports.

Wilders is about as “far-right” as Mother Theresa. But his accusers are definitely  FAR- LEFT  NAZI SWINE:

Up to now the Freedom Party leader has been charged with inciting hatred against Muslims through his remarks in the media and his anti-Islam film Fitna. Mr Wilders has compared the Qur’an to Hitler’s Mein Kampf, and called for it to be banned.

However, the public prosecutor’s office has now decided to widen the charges, based in part on Mr Wilders response in a 2006 interview when asked what he would do if he came to power in the Netherlands: “The same day the borders would be closed to all non-Western immigrants.” Mr Wilders has also expressed this view in parliament.

The decision to widen the charges is striking because initially the public prosecutor’s office decided that Mr Wilders had no case to answer. It only went ahead with the prosecution when an Amsterdam court ruled last year that Mr Wilders should indeed face charges of insulting Muslims as a group and inciting hatred and discrimination towards them.

Insight
The lawyers who brought the case against Mr Wilders have welcomed the public prosecutor’s move. Haroon Raza of anti-racism organisation NBK told de Volkrant he was “extremely satisfied”. NBK argues that Mr Wilders is not only anti-Islam but also racist. Amsterdam lawyer Gerard Spong described the public prosecutor’s decision as a sign of “deepening insight”. It was he who brought the appeal against the initial conclusion that Mr Wilders should not be prosecuted.

The public prosecutor’s office has not commented on the reasons behind its decision to widen the charges. A spokesperson told de Volkskrant that the motivation would be explained during the initial hearing in the case, set for 20 January.

Objections
Mr Wilders’ lawyer Bram Moszkowicz will set out his objections to the charges in a closed hearing on Wednesday. He argues that there are no grounds to prosecute his client for insulting Muslims as a group. Mr Wilders argues that his criticism has always been directed against Islam as a religion, and not against Muslims. He is attending the hearing in person although his Mr Moszkowicz said he did not enter the court by the main entrance due to the death threats which have been made against him.

“Introduce an immediate halt on immigration for people from Muslim countries. Forbid the burqa and the fascist Qur’an.”

“Let us reconquer our streets. Let us ensure that finally the Netherlands really looks like the Netherlands. […] Time for the big clean-up of our streets.”

“There is no moderate Islam. Islam is as I see it is a fascist ideology.”

Call me unsurprised.  Probably the rape victim will be pronounced guilty for indecent conduct and non-observence of the dress code. I guess that makes the rapists the victims of her seduction.

A serious blow to the credibility and morality of Sharia police in Aceh province, has occurred after several members were detained for an alleged gang rape in Langsa regency.

Police in the regency said Tuesday they had arrested two Sharia police officers, or Wilayatul Hisbah, for reportedly raping a female detainee at the Langsa Sharia Police Station.

The Langsa Police are also hunting down another suspect who is currently on the run.

Langsa Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Yosi Muhammartha said the three suspects were accused of jointly raping a university student when she was held in a cell at the station.

The woman was gang-raped by the three Sharia policeman during her interrogation, he added.

Yosi said the issue began when Sharia police officers were conducting patrol on the night of Jan. 8, and found a couple on the side of the PTPN-1 Langsa ring road.

The police brought the pair to the Sharia police office in Langsa. The suspects then questioned the couple in relation to violating the 2003 Sharia Public Indecency Bylaw.

Hate preacher Anjem Choudary is being given round-the-clock police protection following his controversial threat to march through Wootton Basset, the Daily Mail can reveal.

Even though the extremist cleric has now called off plans to stage the protest, carrying empty coffins through the town where Britain honours its war dead, he still receives hourly security checks at his East London home.

Metropolitan police officers have been told to give his protection priority above other local policing jobs such as muggings, theft and foot patrols.

So what did Mr. Chidambram do to get himself in such hot water? It seems that last month he linked jihad to terrorism. What a solecism on his part!

Sheikh Issa bin Zayed al-Nahayan, a member of the UAE royal family, claimed he was drugged by two other men, and therefore unaware of his actions, which included torturing the man with electric prods, driving over him and raping him.

Somalia: Two men flogged for ‘un-Islamic’ romance

The Al-Qaeda-linked Shebab group’s religious police in the Somali city of Kismayo flogged a man for flirting and another for having a “secret marriage”, an official said yesterday.

They received 15 and 39 lashes respectively in front of a crowd in central Kismayo, a large southern harbour which has been under Shebab administration since mid-2008 and where a strict form of Sharia is enforced.  “One of the young men was found engaging in secret wedlock which is illegal under Islamic law,” Sheikh Mohamed Moalim, a senior Shebab official, said from Kismayo.

“The other one was found seducing a lady alone. Both of them confessed to the charges in front of a court and they were publicly punished,” he said.

Saudi dressed in pilot's uniform held at Manila airport

Breaking: “Unruly” Passengers Saudi Arabs Disrupt Northwest Flight 243

MyFoxDetroit.com – Sources tell Fox 2 that a flight from Amsterdam into Detroit Metropolitan Airport was held on the tarmac after landing because of unruly behavior by some of the passengers.

The source says four men from Saudi Arabai were saying something in Arabic that alarmed four on-board Federal Air Marshals. The Marshals speak Arabic.  A decision was made to stop the plane  on the tarmac away from the passenger terminal and remove the men from the plane.

This  comes less than a week after the Nigerian ‘Knickerbomber” pleaded not guilty to trying to blow up a Northwest flight from Amsterdam as it was preparing to land in Detroit on Christmas.

MANILA, Philippines–A 19-year-old Saudi Arabian man dressed as a pilot was arrested Tuesday after he illegally entered a restricted area in the main airport in the Philippines, an airport official said.

“He was able to elude our security by misrepresenting himself as a pilot of Saudia,” said airport general manager Alfonso Cusi, referring to the Saudi Arabian flag carrier….

The detained Saudi, identified by the local authorities as Hani Abdulelah Bukhari, told airport police he was there to meet his father, a retired Saudia pilot who later arrived on a flight from Saudi Arabia.

He was wearing a pilot’s uniform from Saudia Airlines when airport security personnel noticed him lining up at the immigration section of the passenger terminal, Cusi told ABS-CBN television.

The young man produced a card identifying him as a dependent of a retired Saudia employee, he said….

An airport report on the incident said Bukhari was enrolled at a local flying school. The school said however, that he was not a student although his two brothers were….

While Islamic advocacy groups like CAIR and MPAC complain about “profiling” of Muslims in airports, and egregious deceivers like Aziz Poonawalla whine about the perils of “Flying While Brown,” in an unrelated and entirely coincidental development, Muslims continue to be “unruly” and create “disturbances” on airplanes.

Here is one possible solution to treat this bad behavior:

Compulsory Enemas for Mohammedans?

The soldiers of profit Moe have caused this mess for all of us and for themselves. Whining over profiling and being singled out for  extra screening just shows the audacity of these loons. But even more so, it shows  their complete inability to accept any responsibility for the jihad, which they are obliged to wage against us.  ME Online

Now, these could be examples of jihadis trying to “strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah” (Qur’an 8:60), which you can do in ways other than simply by murdering them. On the other hand, maybe it really is all just coincidence. Muhammad Abu Tahir, after all, was drunk — although he may have been trying to give himself some Dutch courage. In the same way that the 9/11 hijackers and Nidal Hasan went to strip clubs before their jihad attacks, so Muhammad Abu Tahir may have believed that all his sins would be outweighed by his act of jihad. Or maybe he had no jihadist intent at all. But one would think at least that if Islamic groups want to show that there is no need for profiling, they could at least advise their coreligionists to knock off the “unruly” behavior on airplanes.

(Israelnationalnews.com) A Canadian Muslim newspaper accused Jews of harvesting children’s organs and then issued a qualified apology for “causing hurt” without stating that the charges are a lie.

Canadian Muslims last week adopted the spreading practice of renewing the ancient blood libel against Jews when the community’sAl Ameen Post published an article accusing Jews of kidnapping “some 25,000 Ukrainian children into the occupied entity over the past two years in order to harvest their organs.”

The source material for the article was Iran’s Press TV network.

B’nai Brith Canada called the Al Ameen posting a “hideous blood libel against the Jewish community and has no place in Canada or anywhere else.”

    • Mohammed Bhamji, the managing editor of Al Ameen, said he did not think the story was racist or inflammatory “because it was reported in the media. [But] I don’t have the facts. When we got that story on the Internet we assumed it was true. We are not professional journalists. We are just a community-based newspaper about anything that has to do with Islam.”

    Frank Dimant, executive vice-president of B’nai Brith, replied that Press TV is “the official mouthpiece of the terrorist-sponsoring Iranian regime.”

    The Al Ameen website offered a qualified apology on its website. It explained, “The leading Canadian Jewish organization, is not pleased with the content of the article, and have [sic] asked for an apology.

    The editorial board of Al Ameen Post, without prejudice, extends its honest and sincere apology to our fellow Jewish Canadians for any hurt,” but the site then added, “Defending our news article at this juncture would mean causing further divide in our harmonious multicultural fabric, which goes against our own values, but it is needless to say that the issue of ‘Organ Harvesting in Israel’ was being discussed at the time of our last publication, by major media outlets, and not just Al Ameen.”

    It did not state that the charges were lies.

    The British Columbia Muslim Association (BCMA) issued a statement denying any official association with Al Ameen but B’nai Brith noted, “We are still very concerned about the fact that an established Islamic organization such as the BCMA. has not apologized to the Jewish community for the distribution of the anti-Semitic blood libel published in Al Ameen, which was disseminated in mosques operated by the BCMA.

    The Canadian National Post, where the report of the blood libel first appeared, has called Al Ameen the “house journal of the BCMA.”

    The phenomena of blood libel, a common practice against Jews in Medieval times and by many Christians since then, has spread rapidly since last year’s Swedish newspaper report that Israeli soldiers harvested organs of terrorists. Hamas has constantly used blood libels in propagandizing to Palestinian Authority Arabs, and the Muslim world has increasingly used the tactic in the past decade.

    Turkish television broadcast a soap opera this week that portrays Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) agents kidnapping children, prompting a diplomatic crisis between Jerusalem and Ankara.
