Here is video of Rabbi David Nesenoff talking with “Reliable Sources” Howard Kurtz about his interview with longtime White House Correspondent Helen Thomas, in which she destroyed herself by making anti-Semitic remarks, saying Jewish people should “get the hell out of Palestine.”

Nesenoff shocked Kurtz by saying his encounter with Thomas and the reaction by the “hate media” has caused him to have to re-evaluate his assumptions. Nesenoff said he voted for Obama, and has always seen himself as a liberal, Jewish Democrat. But the way the liberal media has tried to brand him as a right-winger with an agenda to trap Helen Thomas has caused him to look at their anti-Israel bias and re-evaluate his political beliefs about “liberal” and “conservative.” “I think I’ve been a little blind.”

Rabbi Nesenoff has posted some of the 25,000 hate mails/emails he has received as a result of the whole Helen Thomas encounter at his website – RabbiLive.com (CAUTION: Very Offensive Messages).

WHEN LIBERALS ATTACK: Lessons Learned From The Helen Thomas Scandal

Much has happened since Rabbi Nesenoff emailed me his video interview of Helen Thomas containing her now-famous declaration that Jews should get the hell out of Palestine and go back to their homes in Germany and Poland. Upon first watching the interview, I saw it a big story and was determined to make it go viral. The objective was not to go after the 89-year-old newswoman per se, as a teaching opportunity, showing that anti-Semitism still permeated through normal American society. That teaching moment didn’t really happen; instead I was the one who did the learning, and the lesson was all about how the media really worked.

The White House Press corps seemed very reluctant to touch the story. On one hand it was understandable as Thomas was a respected colleague. Most of them had worked with her for a very long time. On the other hand it was big news, and if the Rabbi’s interview subject was a senior member of the Administration those same reporters would have been all over the story.

When they got around to covering the story, media got the “facts” of the incident wrong. I am not talking about Rosie O’Donnell’s idiotic statement dismissing the anti-Semitism displayed by Thomas’ call for Israeli Jews to return to the scene of the concentration camps, or her ignorant belief that no Jews lived in the Holy Land before 1948. The traditional media’s biggest factual mistake was reporting that the controversy surrounded Thomas making an anti-Israel comment.

CBS for example, led their story with:

“Journalist Helen Thomas announced Monday she is retiring, ending her 50-year career as a White House correspondent in the wake of controversial comments she made about Israel.”

Newsweek said:

“… Helen Thomas, who turns 90 on Aug. 4, announced her sudden retirement Monday following a firestorm of controversy over some ill-chosen remarks about Israel, which found their way onto YouTube.”

A massive fifteen-story mosque and Islamic Center going up in what was once the shadow of the World Trade Center claims to offer “the opposite statement to what happened on 9/11.” The Center organizers, the America Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA), have worked hard in the media to portray themselves as Islamic moderates working for peace on the exact spot where their belligerent coreligionists perpetrated murder and mayhem in the name of their religion. But the words and deeds of the leader of the effort, the Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, suggests a more ominous reality: Abdul Rauf is a master of deceptive, Orwellian use of language, manifesting a deep contempt for non-Muslims and full accord with the supremacist goals of the 9/11 hijackers. The Imam Abdul Rauf is on record saying “I don’t believe in religious dialogue”. He also doesn’t like the concept of freedom of speech. Yet, when confronted by irate citizens, he presents himself as a longtime interfaith-snake oil salesman. Abdul Rauf talks one way to the kuffars on  television and quite another when he is not building shrines to the hijackers of 911. Check out what Robert  Spencer wrote about him in 2004. His wife and coconspirator Daisy Khan wonders why Americans object to the Islamization of America and a mega mosque on Ground Zero, when we (and our children) will all be Muslims anyhow. Daisy Khan told us that the Islamic Center would help non-Muslims to integrate. Interesting word choice. Not help Muslims to integrate into the American secular fabric, but to help non-Muslims to integrate into…a Sharia state.  Daisy also doesn’t care much for America’s laws, because she openly promotes polygamy and covers up for those who engage in it…

In short, the Islamo-propagandists talk out of two sides of their mouths. The same Abdul Rauf who espoused the spread of Sharia law on Arabic websites  said the opposite in the pages of the Daily News.  He is the man New York City authorities are about to allow to build a mosque on Ground Zero.

Just a reminder:

As a little history lesson to folks out there, Islam has a long and bloody past of building their mosques over the holy places of other religions as a symbol of the Muslim religions dominance over another.  Ayasofya Mosque was built in the former Hagia Sophia basilica in Istanbul… Al-Aqsa Mosque was built on the top of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem… Umayyad Mosque was built in Damascus right on top of where the Church of St. John the Baptist once stood.  I think you get the picture. These are just a few examples, there are thousands more. Islam is not just replacement theory; it is eradicating reality along with everything that came before it and everything that stands in its way.

The synagogue in Amersfoort has been daubed with large quantities of red paint. No text or graffiti were added. The Jewish community has put in a complaint with the police. According to the police it is unclear whether this is vandalism or a targeted action.

Although many won’t admit it, we are in the midst of an ideological war with Islam. And since the advantage goes to the side that fully realizes they are at war, the West is losing. The propaganda war is going in favor of Islam precisely because the West doesn’t realize it is supposed to be fighting one. The ability of Islam to rally much of the world behind its hatred of Israel is a telling indication of who is winning the war of ideas. As for war aims, it’s not clear that there are any. Even those who see the danger clearly rarely talk in terms of victory; they talk mainly in terms of resisting cultural jihad. You know you’re in trouble when your ideological opponent is a primitive seventh-century belief system, and yet the best that your top strategists hope for is to put up a good resistance.

As the Dracula-like return of Communist ideology demonstrates, an ideological war needs to be fought to complete and total victory. The enemy ideology should be so thoroughly discredited that no one—not even its former staunchest defenders, not even the most doctrinaire college professor—will want to be associated with it. In regard to Islam, then, our aim should go beyond simply resisting jihad; it should be the defeat of Islam as an idea. But, aside from inflicting crushing military defeats on Islamic powers, how do you accomplish that?

One answer is that you do all you can to force Muslims to question their faith in Islam. As Mark Steyn observes, “there’s no market for a faith that has no faith in itself.” He was speaking, of course, of the more mushy versions of Western Christianity—the post-Christian Christians who seem anxious to dialogue themselves into dhimmitude. But there’s no reason the concept can’t be applied to Islam. Surely the average intelligent Muslim has occasional doubts about the founding revelations. And just as surely he keeps them to himself, not only because he fears his fellow Muslims, but also because the rest of the world seems to be going along with the pretense that he belongs to a great religion. It may be time for the rest of the world to drop the pretense.

In Khanewal district, also in Punjab, the chief of a village with a Muslim majority has ordered 250 Christian families to leave the area because “they are too vigorously denouncing sexual violence by Muslims against women and girls”. Most Christians in the area are labourers on Muslim owned land and the women domestic servants in homes. The Muslim Student Union at UC Irvine should be suspended for one year for its involvement in repeated disruptions of a February speech by Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren, according to a disciplinary report released by the university.

The Muslim Student Union has appealed the recommendation.

The speech about U.S.-Israeli relations was interrupted 10 times by students who got up and yelled out things like, “Michael Oren, propagating murder is not an expression of free speech.”

As well as “Slaughter the Jews“.

Eleven UC Irvine and UC Riverside students were arrested and cited for disturbing a public event, but none have been charged. The student group maintained that the disruptions were done by individuals and not organized by their group, but the report cited internal Muslim Student Union e-mails and meeting agendas that indicated they planned a disturbance.


The group’s attorney Reem Salahi emphasized that a suspension has not yet been implemented but was still disheartened by the report’s recommendations. “It’s collective punishment,” she said. “You have an entire Muslim student body that’s being punished for the actions of a few.”

And yet the whole incident was planned. Is the administration supposed to look the other way from that?

For years there has been a small but passionate group of people concerned with the influence of Islam, and their activism seemed to be largely focused on blogging and lobbying political conservatives. But their presence — and the arguments they raise — seem to be coming into the broader sphere of late.

There’s the fight over a mosque at the Ground Zero site, and this weekend the on-line electronic payment firm PayPal reportedly cut off the anti-Muslim blog Atlas Shrugs, saying it’s a hate site.

Needless to say, this has prompted a roar from Atlas Shrugs supporters who see political bias.

Commentators across the spectrum, from the libertarian Becket Fund to the progressive Media Matters are asking: Where is this anti-Muslim movement going? How significantly will it steer the debate in this country about religious freedom and bias?

The program, “Questionable Peace Mission,” asked why German leftists were in the same boat—literally–as Turkish Islamists and right-wing extremists. Israel’s Barak calls off Paris trip as pro-jihad groups threatened to have him arrested there for his role in Jihad Flotilla

The Jihad Flotilla, although amply exposed as a piece of jihadist provocation and not a “humanitarian” mission at all, continues to be used by Palestinian jihadists and their allies to try to stoke international outrage against Israel. The threatened arrest of Ehud Barak, like the earlier threatened arrest of Tzipi Livni, is the same motion on a grand scale as the suspension of the SIOA, FDI, and Atlas Shrugs Paypal accounts is on a small scale: an attempt to criminalize a political point of view, ruling it outside the bounds of polite society.

These attempts may well succeed in the short run, as the world seems to be zooming toward another bloody round of boot-on-the-face totalitarianism, and such periods always begin with the criminalization of the loyal opposition.

In any case, the worst part of this story is that Barak found the arrest threat credible enough to cause him to cancel his trip. In other words, he found it quite possible that the Eurabian dhimmi French authorities would indeed allow him to be arrested, if not arrest him themselves.
