NJ Transit confirmed Fenton was fired but wouldn’t elaborate.

“Mr. Fenton’s public actions violated New Jersey Transit’s code of ethics,” an agency statement said. “NJ TRANSIT concluded that Mr. Fenton violated his trust as a state employee and therefore was dismissed.”

Several neighbors in Fenton’s Bloomingdale neighborhood stood up for his right to express himself with flames.

“Good for him for burning the Koran,” neighbor Jacqui Marquez, 40, said. “Everybody’s entitled to their opinion … by firing him, they’re sending a message that there’s no freedom of speech. They’re completely wrong for doing this.”

“He’s a family man,” neighbor Randy McConnell, 43, said. “He loves his kids and he loves trains. I don’t agree with what he did, but he shouldn’t lose his job over it. That’s his right.”

U.S. Has ‘No Strategy’ to Confront Homegrown Terror, Security Group Warns

The government has failed to anticipate the danger from homegrown terrorists, some of whom immigrated to the United States, and now faces the most complex set of threats since the Sept. 11 attacks, analysts on an organization headed by the two 9/11 Commission co-chairmen warned Friday.

Unveiling a new report a day before the nation marks nine years since the 2001 attacks, members of the National Security Preparedness Group said Al Qaeda and other terror groups are increasingly turning to U.S. citizens to carry out attacks on the United States. They cited examples where recruiters went after Somali populations and other groups living in the United States, saying that while the U.S. at one time may have thought its cultural “melting pot” would provide a “firewall” against radicalization from within, that assumption turned out to be false.

“The United States has failed to fundamentally understand and prepare for these threats,” group member Bruce Hoffman said. “Terrorists may have found our Achilles’ heel. We have no strategy to deal with this growing problem and emerging threat.” (Fox has more)

French senate passes face-veil ban

Even so, most of them are on the dole, and they can’t be forced to pay from their minimum allowance. France will go down with the hideous shrouds as the jihad continues…..

The French senate has voted in favour of a bill to ban face-covering veils in public, a proposal that has sparked fierce debate in a country that is home to Western Europe’s largest Muslim population.

Senators approved the measure by 246 votes to one, with most opposition senators abstaining in protest.

The law has already been passed by the national assembly but still has to be vetted by the constitutional council, France’s highest legal body.

Critics of the proposed law hope that the council will overturn the bill.

Some rights groups have voiced concerns that the legislation risks raising Islamophobia, in a country where some Muslim women already face harrassment for wearing the veil.

If implemented, women caught wearing face veils in public places, including streets, markets, government buildings, private businesses and public transport would be fined $190.

Tougher penalties

Men who force their wives or daughters to cover for religious reasons would face tougher penalties of up to $38,685 and a one-year jail term.

Police commissioner Simon Overland is already fully in tune with Islamic customs and is often seen apologizing to Islamic leaders, usually after some of the tiny minority of extremists  get caught doing their Islamic duty, which includes blowing up stoopid infidels like you and me.

A group of conspirators waited in Australia for an Islamic cleric in Somalia to grant them a fatwa.

They wanted his blessing to break into Sydney’s Holsworthy army base and kill as many people as possible.

But one of them expressed fears that it could be “a catastrophe”, the Victorian Supreme Court heard yesterday.

In a phone conversation intercepted by police in June last year, Abdirahmin Mohamud Ahmed told Saney Edow Aweys it would be easy for an “angry” sheik in the mountains of Somalia to tell them to “enter this place” and they had to ask “people with knowledge”.

“If the sheik says to the guys enter this place . . . it’s a catastrophe, brother,” Mr Ahmed said.

Mr Aweys, who has been identified in many recorded conversations repeatedly describing Australians as “infidels”, told Mr Ahmed he was “soft” and told him if a fatwa was granted, “I am included”.

Backlash Watch

After arresting five  Muslim men  who planned an armed terrorist attack on a Sydney army base to further the cause of Islam by killing as many people as possible, Dhimmi in Chief  Simon Overland finds it necessary to run to the next mosque and assure Muslims that there is nothing to worry about:

Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Simon Overland has visited a Melbourne mosque to assure worshippers they are all Australians and shouldn’t feel like second-class citizens.

Mr Overland went to the 8 Blacks prayer centre in North Melbourne, believed to have been attended by three of the five men charged this week over terrorism offences.

Many Muslims have said they fear reprisals following the counter-terrorist raids in Melbourne on Tuesday that resulted in the five, all of Somali and Lebanese background, being taken into custody.

How nice!  Simon Overland emulating George W. Bush!  Remember how good ol’George took his shoes and socks off a day after 9/11 to tell us all that Islam ‘is a religion of peace?’

The Muslims  of course, are “embarrassed and shocked” that the suspects once attended a mosque that’s home to Australia’s top Muslim cleric, Sheik Fehmi Naji El-Imam. (Sydney Moonbat Herald)

Terrorism plot: suspects in court

Five men being questioned over an alleged terrorist conspiracy had sought a religious ruling to authorise an attack in Australia, a court has heard.

Shereen Hassan, the vice-president of the Islamic Council of Victoria, says Muslims have been shocked by the raids and are calling for calm amid fears of a backlash.

“But we have faith that the overwhelming majority of Australians will not react in this way and remain calm,” she said.

“[We] urge the wider community and the media to respect the privacy of the families concerned.

“The overwhelming majority of Australian Muslims unequivocally condemn all forms of terrorism.”

Mohamed Baaruud from the Somalia Advocacy Action Group says the community cannot believe some Somali Australians have been implicated.

“We are all shocked,” he said.

“This is the last thing we were expecting.”

No Sweetness from Obama on Rosh Hashanah

For once could Obama show a little sweetness for America’s Jews?

This week Jews across America celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and received holiday greetings from our President that were remarkable for their offensive preachiness.  Beyond a perfunctory wish for a sweet New Year, Jews got a lecture on the Two State solution.  American Jews were told this is a time to repent, think of those in need, embrace diversity, cultivate humility and compassion, move beyond differences with the Palestinians, and choose the Two State solution.

Not a single word of praise for Judaism or American Jews.  Not one. For that matter, after the first sentence, the word Jew does not appear, and Judaism is not mentioned by name at all.  Obama doesn’t seem to like speaking about Jews or Judaism.  (In his Ramadan message which is one hundred words shorter, the words Muslim and Islam are used seven times.)

For the sake of comparison, look at President George Bush’s 2001 message , or President Reagan’s superb Rosh Hashanah message in 1984.

“American statesmen and authorities should give a clear answer to the Muslim nations over this bold and insulting act,” Mottaki told reporters in a joint press conference with his Malawian counterpart here in Tehran today.

The minster blamed Zionists for such provocative moves, which he said are aimed at sowing discord among believers of different faiths and religions.

He further warned about the negative consequences of insult to the values of 1.5 billion Muslims, and said, “This seed of hatred sown by the West and its resulting fire will cause trouble for them themselves.”

Egyptian Security Forces Storm Monastery, Assault Monks

(AINA) — On Tuesday, September 7, at 8 PM a 300-man security force, backed by a large number of cars and armored vehicles, attacked the monastery of St. Macarius of Alexandria in Wadi Rayan, Fayoum province, 150 KM south of Cairo.
