Welfare seekers, that’s what they are. No Muslim is entitled to seek refuge or asylum in Australia. Muslims are obliged to assist other Muslims in need. When ME Muslims land in Indonesia they are safe. Why would anyone in his right mind encourage them to invade Australia?
However: if you oppose it, you are‘R A C I S T’….
Only the best will do when it comes to accommodating our new Australians who come here illegally.
Our worst nightmare of an Immigration Minister Chris Bowen says it’s just nice to be hospitable.
In one hotel alone – Darwin’s Airport Lodge – the Department of Immigration paid $60,000 a night last November to house up to 188 people, mainly families.
The total bill for a fortnight’s accommodation was almost $800,000.The figures, obtained by the Herald Sun, reveal that – based on the leases the Government had in place at the end of 2010 – the average cost across motels, hotels and guest houses nationwide was $2.36 million a month.(source)
We’re told there are too few to worry about, and we’re told there are too many to offend.
I don’t see how a debate on Muslim immigration can be avoided given the figures Sally Neighbour cites:
Muslims overall remain one of the most disadvantaged groups in Australia.
The figures are in a 2009 report by the National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies, Social and Economic Conditions of Australian Muslims: Implications for Social Inclusion.
The report found Australian Muslims are more vulnerable to multigenerational endemic poverty, “thus making poverty a way of life”. This in turn creates alienation from mainstream society, leading to higher rates of delinquency, crime, imprisonment and potentially resort to religious extremism.
The intrepid mujahedin, gunning down teachers and forcing school closures in the entire province. Later on, they, along with analysts in the West, will complain about the region being poor and underdeveloped, and say it causes jihad. But this is a classic example of jihad causing poverty, and obliterating the means of improving one’s lot in life. (Source)
Nor am I particularly reassured by Sheik Hilali’s attempt to placate fears of terrorism attacks from a very small minority of those many more dissaffected:
Lakemba imam Hilali acknowledges the frustration and anger that can potentially breed violent extremism are palpable in his community.
“There are no terrorists in Australia in terms of execution. There are people who have the mindset to commit harm, but no one has the capacity to execute anything. What it is, is just a mindset – just talk and ideas.”
The latest criticism of so called “multiculturalism” from various political leaders brought our main stream media into a damage control frenzy (just read those teary Christmas Island funeral stories).
And yes, it is all about Muslims (painted by the media as good, sometimes misunderstood individuals), who suffer terribly from the hands of bigoted Australians.
And all they do is just desperately try to fit into the society despite some insignificant cultural differences.
Oh, why people just can’t get along (and accept the burqa, wife beatings and FGM).
As a devout Muslim and second-generation Lebanese-Australian, Mohamad is a migrant success story, but as he readily concedes, he is not typical of the young men in his community.
In addition to crime and disadvantage, he has grown up experiencing the more everyday manifestations of racial intolerance – ridicule for a different-sounding name and a funny set of customs. “There is no doubting the hurdles we face, the problems,” the 21-year-old said yesterday. “So many of the boys I used to know were capable of so much more but they’re in prison, or sitting at home, or looking for a job, or on minimum wages because of the limitations put on them, by themselves and by the society.” (source)
The waters off Somalia in east Africa are the most dangerous in the world. 92% of pirate hijackings in 2010 took place there… over 1,000 hostages and 49 vessels were seized.
Now it’s threatening tourism and fishing, and therefore the livelihood, of the Seychelles, with the idyllic islands finding themselves thrust into the midst of the piracy crisis. (Dateline)
INSURERS in the City of London are finalising plans to set up a private fleet of armed patrol boats in the Gulf of Aden, in a new drive to stamp out Somali piracy.
London insurers’ private fleet to fight Somali pirates
The naval protection force was conceived by leading figures in the Lloyd’s of London market. They have been working with ship owners, freight operators and governments for months, marshalling support for their plan.
The goal of the Convoy Escort Programme is to provide protection for tankers trying to navigate the seas off war-torn Somalia while also reducing the soaring costs of insuring vessels, cargo and crews against increasingly vicious attacks by pirates.
Key representatives of the shipping industry, including the Baltic and International Maritime Council (Bimco) have agreed to explore the idea further. Giles Noakes, the chief maritime security officer of Bimco, said that he would be briefing American politicians in Washington on the plan next week.
It is understood that the industry-led project is being monitored by the Royal Navy and its counterparts. The Times understands that the Navy would regard the escorts as a trial which, if successful, would allow naval vessels to hunt pirates in other areas. If the fleet can secure funding and win the support of the shipping community, it could be up and running within six months. There are also plans to explore using former Nimrod maritime patrol air crews to provide aerial surveillance.
Devout Muslim Osama Hassan Daly Drove Into San Diego Nightclub Crowd
As we’re told in every single case in which a Muslim attacks Americans, the usual narrative is already in place here, with Osama “Sam” Hassan Daly, a devout Egyptian Muslim cab driver, who drove into a crowd of Americans at the San Diego nightclub where he’s been a frequent patron. Daly is now missing, and he may have fled back to Egypt, after being released from a hospital by police. Daly injured 36 people in his attack.
A speech “peppered with verses from the Koran.” “FPI Leader Fires Up Court With Anti-Christian Screed,” by Elisabeth Oktofani for the Jakarta Globe, February 16 (thanks to JW):
In a fiery speech in court that moved some to tears, a suspended Islamic Defenders Front leader on trial for inciting attacks against a Christian group in Bekasi continued to issue threats against church leaders on Monday.Murhali Barda, a former chapter leader of the hard-line group, also known as the FPI, warned the Batak Christian Protestant Church (HKBP) against holding prayers in Bekasi, a predominantly Muslim district in West Java.
No doubt visiting Muslims are eligible for a waiver….
(National Post)The Obama administration wants Canadians to pay to enter the United States to help ease that country’s desperate financial crunch. Â (via eye on the world)
A proposed “passenger inspection” fee is outlined in the draft 2012 U.S. federal budget that has been sent to Congress. If adopted, the charge is expected to be levied against millions of commercial air and marine travellers from Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, the only areas now exempt from the fee, and generate US$110-million annually. The fee would not apply to automobile traffic.
With about 16 million Canadians flying to the U.S. each year, a $5.50 head tax would raise almost US$90-million of the annual total and help pay for more beefed up U.S. border security.
Many people in Pakistan already want Raymond Davis dead. According to this report, Davis says he was acting in self-defense from armed robbery when he killed two Pakistanis. The story below speculates the two were members of the ISI, whom prosecutors claim were fleeing from Davis. Not that we’ve ever, ever heard of the ISIbeing up to no good, of course.
The lavish Valentine’s Day tributes (curiously not proscribed as haram here as celebrations were in many other places in the Muslim world) enjoyed by the assassin of blasphemy law critic Salman Taseer again demonstrate the popularity of the blasphemy laws in Pakistan. They are now a rallying point for Islamic groups and their supporters.
In this case, it is the word of Pakistani Muslim prisoners and guards against Davis, and they have given jihadists a backup plan in hope of seeing him killed one way or the other: just in case the merits of the murder charges don’t stack up in court, the blasphemy ones might, and failing that, they may attempt to murder him on their own.

With the Muslim Brotherhood advancing in Egypt and talking already about setting aside the Camp David Accords, and with Barack Obama abandoning the U.S.’s most reliable Middle Eastern ally, Nasrallah no doubt sees his best chance coming soon. “‘Prepare to Invade Israel,’ Hezbollah Leader Tells Followers,” by Bassem Mroue forAssociated Press (thanks to Weasel Zippers):

By now this should come as no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to how Barack Obama has treated Israel since he has become president. And anyone who has read The Post-American Presidency knows that Obama’s stance toward Israel as president is simply a continuation of his associations with antisemites and haters of Israel throughout his political career.

The Obama administration is really on top of things, right? NYT spins it…
“A Jordanian attorney, a Jordanian human rights organization and a Lebanese news commentator in 2009 justifying, indeed glorifying, Ahmed Daqamseh’s fatally shooting seven 11 year-old Israeli schoolgirls girls as “heroism” born of “patriotic rage” and a basic, natural response. Note the last few minutes of the segment where murdered Israeli girls are transformed rhetorically into “a group of Zionists” representing all Israeli offenses real and imagined (including the proximate cause of Jordan’s failure to negotiate more favorable water rights) who offend Islam and a man’s personal honor, such that Israel – and these women -are the real criminals. Note how this murder is transformed into a defining moment for all Arabs and Moslems.”
