Iranian “lawmakers” opened a new session of the country’s Parliament on Tuesday with chants of “Death to America.” The taunt was meant as a response to the White House’s designation of Iran’s elite paramilitary Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) a foreign terrorist organization.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council also registered its displeasure by calling the U.S. Central Command, known as CENTCOM, and all its forces as “terrorists”, and labeling the U.S. a “supporter of terrorism.”

The Jakarta Post on Monday reported on a rash of desecrations directed at Christian graves in the city of Yogyakarta, a spree some local residents believe was a targeted act of intolerance rather than random vandalism. The Jakarta Post quoted speculation from local officials that homeless people might have taken the wooden crosses from at least 11 graves in the Bethesda Hospital cemetery and used them for firewood, but the families of the deceased were skeptical, noting crosses have never been stolen before even though homeless people have long made camp near the cemetery. The wooden crosses are temporary markers placed on graves for the first thousand days after a funeral, in accordance with local custom.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council responded Monday by declaring the US a “state sponsor of terrorism” and American troops operating in the region as “terrorist groups,” according to IRNA, Iran’s state-run news agency.

It is good that this man was fired, but Britain is changing rapidly, and Uber (along with the entire British establishment) is trying to pretend it isn’t happening. How long will it be before Uber will be charged with being “Islamophobic” for firing this driver? Crosses in Italian Cemetery Covered to Avoid Offence to Other Religions

No other ‘religions’ are offended except the one & only that is perpetually offended. The dimbulbs who agreed to this should do away with themselves. Nothing less will do.

The crosses on graves in an Italian cemetery in Pieve di Cento have been covered with black cloth so as not to offend those who may come from another religion.

The cemetery, which is located in Bologna in a town of around 7,000 people, has also installed motorised blackout curtains in a local chapel following renovations to hide Roman Catholic symbols during ceremonies involving other denominations, Il Giornalereports.

Maryland man accused of plotting to run van into National Harbor crowd

A Maryland man inspired by the Islamic State terror network allegedly planned to ram a truck into “disbelievers” at a popular tourist spot and keep “driving and driving and driving” nonstop, U.S. officials said Monday.

Rondell Henry, 28, of Germantown, was charged by federal prosecutors with interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle — but officials said more charges could follow.

“Today, the government filed a motion arguing for Henry to be detained pending trial as a flight risk and a danger to the community. Specifically, the government’s detention memo alleges that Henry, who claimed to be inspired by the ISIS terrorist organization, stole a U-Haul van with the intention of using it as a weapon against pedestrians on sidewalks within the National Harbor complex along the Potomac River,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland said.

UK Govt Plans Sweeping Internet Controls to Combat ‘Online Harms’ Including ‘Fake News’, ‘Trolling’

• Bundling “fake news” in with child sex abuse and terrorism is a classic authoritarian trick. 

The proposals mooted in the #onlineharms white paper – including a new duty of care on social media platforms, a regulatory body, and even the fining and banning of social media platforms as a sanction – pose serious risks to freedom of expression online 

The British government has published an Online Harms White Paper outlining a series of sweeping new controls on the Internet, which will see social media firms required to police users’ actions or face stiff penalties.

While the paper’s proponents have emphasised the need for action against activity related to criminal behaviour such as child sexual exploitation and terrorism, the proposals roll in a number of other, far more dubious transgressions including “trolling” and alleged “disinformation” under the “online harms” umbrella as well.

Under the alarming heading ‘Threats to our way of life’, the paper states that even simply “Inaccurate information, regardless of intent, can be harmful” — although trying to use the force of law to stamp out perceived inaccuracy could see state officials and tech giants elevated to the status of the official arbiters of truth, at least in practice.

Speaking at a news conference in Milan on Monday, the Italian deputy prime minister, along with leaders of patriotic parties from across the bloc, announced the creation of the European Alliance of Peoples and Nations (EAPN) ahead of May’s EU Parliament elections.

“The news is that we are expanding the [eurosceptic] family, we are working for a new European dream. Today for many citizens and for many people Europe represents a nightmare and not a dream,” said Salvini, speaking alongside Alternative for Germany (AfD) leader Joerg Meuthen.
