Based out of a thirteenth-century Carthusian monastery 90 minutes outside of Rome, Bannon has teamed up with Italy’s Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, Catholic UK politician Benjamin Harnwell and American Cardinal Raymond Burke – who has called Islam a threat and is an open supporter of US President Donald Trump.

Bannon spoke recently with The New Yorker‘s Elisabeth Zerofsky – who describes him as “corpulent” (clearly a fan), and provided an update to a story we originally reported on last June.

In short, Bannon’s new academy seeks to coordinate nationalist movements across Europe as a “right-wing response to George Soros’s Open Society Foundation,” which Bannon says he admires for its power and organization.

The monastery will host events with speakers like Bannon and Burke and conservative Christian leaders.

Harnwell and his organization are an important connection between Bannon and Burke. Harnwell is the one who first introduced the two, according to a New York Times article that is displayed on Harnwell’s website. Bannon spoke at one of Harnwell’s’ conferences by grainy video link back in 2014 during which he warned that the migration exodus would lead to a rise in populism. Burke was the keynote speaker the year before. –Daily Beast

30 Per Cent of ‘Ukrainian Refugees’ Are Actually From Other Countries

Most of the false asylum claimants are economic migrants from North Africa and the Middle East.

Around a third of Ukrainian refugees arriving in France are actually economic migrants from other areas of the world, mostly North Africa and the Middle East, according to an investigation by newspaper Le Figaro.

Over 5,000 refugees have already arrived in France from Ukraine, with some being transported by bus from Berlin and others arriving by rail and air.

“However, many of those arriving through official channels and being identified by the authorities are non-Ukrainian, with Le Figaro reporting that as many as 30 percent are migrants of other nationalities,” reports ReMix News.

“The newspaper reveals that 7.5 percent are of Algerian nationality, while 3.5 percent of arrivals are from the Ivory Coast and Morocco respectively.”

‘YouTube Alternative’ Vimeo Bans ‘Fake News’ and ‘Conspiracy Theories’

Vimeo, a video hosting platform that markets itself as an alternative to YouTube, has updated its terms of service to ban “fake news” and “conspiracy theories” that creates “a serious risk of material harm to a person, group, or the general public.”

The video sharing platform’s previous terms were also fairly restrictive, banning any content that “contains hateful or discriminatory speech,” supports “hate groups,” contains false information about “vaccination safety,” “false or misleading information about voting,” or “contains conspiracy-related content where the underlying conspiracy theory makes claims that… suggest that a real-world tragedy did not occur.”

Russia-Ukraine war: Marina Ovsyannikova interrupts Russian show

Act of dissent comes amid government crackdown on independent journalism and anti-war protests.

An anti-war protester has interrupted a live evening news programme on Russia’s state television, holding up a sign behind the studio presenter that said “NO WAR. Stop the war” and “Don’t believe the propaganda”.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the woman in his nightly video address:

“I am grateful to those Russians who do not stop trying to convey the truth. To those who fight disinformation and tell the truth, real facts to their friends and loved ones,” Zelenskyy said. “And personally to the woman who entered the studio of Channel One with a poster against the war.”

Kira Yarmysh, spokeswoman for jailed opposition leader Alexey Navalny, wrote on Twitter: “Wow, that girl is cool.”
