Every year for well over half a century “experts” have declared the Great Barrier Reef is facing dire threats and even immanent destruction. Despite several million visitors to the Reef being enchanted by its beauty and wonder they have seen and a 100 per cent track record of failed prophesies by Reef alarmists, the mainstream news media continue to report every latest “threat” with unquestioning credulity. This dire publicity has sustained a local industry generating a flow of well over $100 million of taxpayer money each year devoted to finding, promoting, and researching those purported threats while the recipients of that taxpayer largesse pretend to “manage” the 350,000 square kilometres of virtually pristine, unpolluted, and unexploited ocean that comprises the GBR.

As long as the “research grants” are coming, we will be inundated with absurd “reef is dying” propaganda.

Sasha Johnson, one of Britain’s best-known Black Lives Matter activists, has been shot in the head and is in “critical condition”, according to a statement released by her political party on Sunday.

Ms Johnson, 27, the self-styled “Black Panther of Oxford” and a mother of three, according to her party, or a mother of two, according to the BBC, reportedly sustained a gunshot wound to the head in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Southwark area of London.

Hating non-Muslims is an Islamic command. In the words of Koran 60:4, “We [Muslims] renounce you [non-Muslims]. Based on such verses, any number of fatwas, authoritative Islamic decrees from venerable sheikhs, call on Muslims to do things like hate their non-Muslim wives (while “physically” enjoying or benefitting from them) and to hate and be disloyal to the Western nations they reside in.

In short, and as the Islamic State once explained in an unambiguously titled article, “Why We Hate You & Why We Fight You,” “We hate you, first and foremost, because you are disbelievers.”

As the death toll from a days of violence in the Gaza Strip and Israel mounts, celebrities have largely ignored the conflict, instead using their powers to change the weather and to end racism.…

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Imagine if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for example, had used their earnest chat with Oprah Winfrey to focus on peace in the Middle East.

It is not unreasonable to think that a heart-to-heart with the Duchess of Sussex and her ginger handbag would have convinced Hamas militants to turn their swords into ploughshares by now.

Or what if Greta Thunberg had jetted into Jerusalem and given both sides the same stern talking to that she gave world leaders at the United Nations?

“Islamic militants – how dare you!”

You can’t tell me Hamas operatives would continue launching rockets at Tel Aviv if they knew that in doing so they were stealing Greta’s childhood and robbing her of her dreams.

Suitably chastised by the Swedish teenager who knows a thing or two about lowering temperatures, both sides would surely have cooled down enough to sign up for the two-state solution that has eluded politicians for decades.

At the very least, Michelle Obama could have started a social media hashtag to usher in a new era of harmony for the world’s most troubled region.

Back in 2014, she famously freed more than 200 kidnaped Nigerian school girls using nothing more than a selfie in which she held up the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.

Brooke Blurton, new star of Channel 10’s The Bachelorette, is one of three people last week who proved race politics in Australia has gone completely mad. Blurton got even the ABC excited about 10’s meat-market, where the star picks a mate from a pack of attention-seekers. It trilled: “Blurton makes television history as the show’s first Indigenous, bisexual star.”

Except that’s not exactly true.

Three years ago, Blurton confessed she’d also had relationships with women and did not want to be labelled.

“I’m a big person of who you are inside, obviously not face value and what you look like,” she said.

“I looked beyond what they were as female. I’m not bisexual or a lesbian or anything like that … I don’t really want to be judged on this.”

But wait. Blurton is determined to be non-binary about sexual identity, but when it comes to race she is extremely binary.

On Instagram she identifies herself solely as Aboriginal: “A proud Noongar-Yamatji woman.” She has also backed an Aboriginal-only advisory parliament in our constitution, claiming it “will help my people have a seat at the table”.

“We invite you to walk with us.”

This week, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison proposed that unvaccinated Australians should be locked in their states until they agree to subject themselves to one of the experimental genetic vaccines being touted by Big Pharma and friends as the silver bullet to end the pandemic. It’s a new low in the medical tyranny in Australia. What next? A vaccine pass to leave the house? Home detention for vaccine-deniers?

Israel has a ‘green pass’ which allows vaccinated people access to theatres, concert halls, indoor restaurants and bars but it doesn’t stop people just moving around the country. The UK government wanted to bring in something similar but had to roll back its plans after an angry backlash. In the US, some eager beavers have vaccine passports but they can’t be used to lock people into states. Indeed, Republican states like Florida and Texas made a point of opening up completely months ago and have had better health outcomes than lockdown states.

Half the UK population has now had at least one jab against Covid-19 and Public Health England says the vaccines have already saved at least 6,000 lives and stopped many becoming ill.

But for all its success, the rollout has raised questions about rare but serious side-effects. The one that’s caught the public eye is the very slight risk of blood clots from the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Even though there’s no proof the jab is to blame, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has recommended that adults under 30 are offered one of the other vaccines available, to be on the safe side.
