Condolenza whispers through the Rice

“OIC seeks to limit freedom of speech, and that could undermine the standards of international religious freedom.”

* Yep. She said it!

* The utterly useless, clueless affirmative action  person in the white house, who is by no fault of her own Secretary of State, Condi Rice,  rejected what she said were attempts by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to criminalize “defamation” of religions, such as caricatures or other images of the prophet Mohammed, which is forbidden in Islam.

The OIC represents 57 Muslim countries around the world.

“We’re concerned by efforts to promote a so-called defamation of religions concept, which has been the focus of numerous resolutions passed at the United Nations,” Rice said.

“Instead of protecting religion practice and promoting tolerance, this concept seeks to limit freedom of speech, and that could undermine the standards of international religious freedom,” she said.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday that “there is a group occupying the young Palestinians while the latter are defending their mothers and fathers, and presenting them as terrorists. “Do these criminals believe in God and in the Bible? Germany: 2 Arrested in Bombing Plot

The authorities announced Friday that they had arrested two men, a German citizen of Afghan heritage and a Turk, accused of being linked to a bombing plot that shocked Germany last year, because of the scale of explosive chemicals seized and the fact that German converts to Islam were involved. Federal prosecutors said in a statement that the German, Omid Shirkhani, had visited a training camp near the Afghan-Pakistani border run by the terrorist group Islamic Jihad Union. Mr. Shirkhani is suspected of being a member of the group. The Turkish citizen, Huseyin Ozgun, was accused of providing support to the organization; he was said to have been detained by Pakistani authorities on his way to an Islamic Jihad Union camp. The men were arrested in the Frankfurt area on Thursday, after Mr. Shirkhani tried to leave the country, according to a senior German law enforcement official.

In a recent interview with the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Islam Online website, and reported by the BBC Middle East Monitoring Service, the Council on American-Islamic Relations‘ (CAIR), Executive Director Nihad Awad reflected on “interfaith dialogue,” the Bush administration, the upcoming presidential election, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Asked about the prospect of a new U.S. president, and whether American Muslims regret support for George W. Bush in 2000, Awad’s answer offers a disturbing window into his soul.

“We should not blame the Muslims for taking part in the political process, and we should not blame the United States alone for the 11 September 2001 attacks, but we should also blame the perpetrators.” (Emphasis added)

COLOGNE, Germany (AP) — Protesters throwing stones and paintballs disrupted the opening of an “anti-Islamification” conference Friday organized by a right-wing German nationalist group that opposes the building of a large new mosque.

Some 100 protesters gathered outside city hall in Cologne’s borough of Rodenkirchen to prevent two leaders of the Pro-Cologne movement from entering the building where they were to hold a news conference.

Tancredo introduces anti-Sharia "Jihad Prevention Act"

 

*  America’s Geert Wilders, Tom Tancredo is making all the right noises. Unfortunately, he is not running for the presidency. This is all good stuff, but still short of internment and deportations. But we got to start somewhere: 

 * Robert Spencer: In the wake of Britain’s capitulation to Sharia, this is just the kind of law we need. I am very glad to see Congressman Tancredo doing this, and hope that it will at very least ignite a national debate about this issue.

* It seems that both, the interviewer and ‘Islam scholar’ Michael Marx don’t know what they’re talking about. The Koran is certainly no ‘Christian text’ and islam is not an ‘Abrahamic religion’. Islam is a mandate for open ended warfare to make the world Islamic, and that by any means. That includes genocide on the Jews. Islam doesn’t have the ‘Golden Rule’, and won’t accept it either. But other than that, read it and make up your own mind.

YALA, Thailand (AFP)–Three people have been killed in the latest separatist violence in Thailand’s Muslim-majority south, while an elementary school was burned to the ground, police said Friday.

Two Muslim militants were killed and a policeman injured Thursday evening during a 10-minute gunfight with security forces, police said.
