Aussie judges off to China to learn how to apply proper justice

For once I hope the excuse for this jaunt is false:

QUEENSLAND’S top judge and four colleagues are taking their partners on a three-week China educational tour at a cost of about $100,000 to taxpayers.

The Courier-Mail has learnt Chief Justice Paul de Jersey will head the 10-person delegation next month that will include Supreme Court judges Peter Dutney, Henry Fryberg and Debra Mullins and Court of Appeal judge John Muir…

The Queensland judges will learn about the use of advanced IT in Chinese courts, about the operation of two of the most advanced judicial training colleges in the world, and how Chinese courts deal with problems Queensland also has.

Dear God, let these judges spend their time shopping rather than learn from this authoritarian regime “how Chinese courts deal with problems Queensland also has”.

Question: do you think the judges know how stupid, even sinister, their plans sound? Just in case they really are unbelievably naive here’s a recent New York Times piece on Chinese justice.

Of course, it might just be that they are as tyrant-friendly as our Human Rights Commission president, which case we’re in deep trouble.

During the campaign, Candidate Obama promised anything to anybody just to get votes, and in many of those cases those promises have already been broken. Today broken promise was made to the Armenian Community. During the campaign he made a firm vow that he would be the first president to label the 1915 massacres of Armenians by Ottoman Turks “genocide,” a move that would infuriate our allies in Turkey, but something of great importance to the Armenian Community.

He was so firm on the promise that he had adviser Samantha Power make a video promising that as president, Obama would keep to his word (see above) 

Today Obama issued a written statement on Armenian Remembrance Day, calling the killings of more than 1.5 million people as “one of the great atrocities of the 20th century.”Notice that the key word was missing?

President Obama today signed into law the “GIVE Act,” H.R. 1388, which massively expands the National Service Corporation and allocates to it billions of dollars, and one executive for the program now says it will allow for the “managing” of up to 8 or 9 million people.

WND has reported on plans to create the corps since Obama told a campaign stop in Colorado Springs last year he wants a “Civilian National Security Force” as big and as well-funded as the U.S. military.

Jones and a number of anonymous Pentagon sources give their side two days ago in a Washington Times exclusive. Their mission, according to reporter Bill Gertz, was:

… to dispel Internet reports that the military was delayed from taking action by indecision inside the White House.

Clintonesque parsing of words is evident throughout the Jones-Pentagon account, amounting on more than one occasion to outright dishonesty. Yet the actual information they provide (as opposed to the lawyerly spin they try to put on it) actually confirms the most damning details in BooBooFan’s purported SEAL report.

CAMDEN will become a breeding ground for terrorists if an Islamic school teaches its agenda of war and violence, a court heard yesterday.

Residents from the town, calling themselves ‘‘ Camdenites’’, pleaded with the Land and Environment Court to take their fears seriously.

‘‘ They will teach war and how to kill,’’ local Judith Bond said. ‘‘ It will be a breeding ground for terrorists.Islam is a national security threat.’’

Ms Bond was one of 18 Camdenites to have their video evidence played to the court yesterday, with another three taking the stand in person.

Ms Bond said they had to uphold Australian values— the school would emphasise values of violence and teach sharia law and terrorism.

The churches refer to the supremacist nature of Islam, its desire for world domination, its inability to function with Australian law and that the Quranic Society is incompatible with the Australian way of life and our freedoms.

This is a strong step forward. For the first time, the proposed school is being argued against on the actual issues. The arguments about traffic and environmental concerns were at best a stalling option.
