Newsweep Shrugs: Hamas Admits Using Hospitals, Schools and Mosques to Attack Israel

… but hey, who are we to judge?  One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter… Right?

Newsweek talked to gunmen who admitted using a hospital for firing at Israel:

One of the most notorious incidents during the war was the Jan. 15 shelling of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society buildings in the downtown Tal-al Hawa part of Gaza City, followed by a shell hitting their Al Quds Hospital next door; the subsequent fire forced all 500 patients to be evacuated . . . In the Tal-al Hawa neighborhood nearby, however, Talal Safadi, an official in the leftist Palestinian People’s Party, said that resistance fighters were firing from positions all around the hospital. He shrugged that off, having a bigger beef with Hamas. “They failed to win the battle.” more from Newsweep

* Brave Hamas ‘Leaders” Still Hiding

             

(IsraelNN.com) Hamas leaders Ismail Haniyeh and Mahmoud A-Zahar are still in hiding, a senior Egyptian official told Al-Hayyat on Friday. The two fear Israel still sees them as a target despite the conclusion of the Cast Lead operation in Gaza, he explained.

Haniyeh, A-Zahar and others went into hiding during the operation as the IDF targeted Hamas leaders and bombed hundreds of the terror group’s buildings, weapons caches and tunnels. Among those killed were senior Hamas heads Nizar Rayyan and Said Siam. More

They encourage their young men to be martyrs and meet their 72 virgins while they hide out with their four wives.

Fatah supporters are reporting that Hamas has set up detention and torture centers in mosques and kindergartens. One mosque was mentioned specifically, Imam El-Shafei, and the kindergarten was called al-Tahir in Beit Hanoun. Hamas also continues to attack Fatah members, blowing a wall in the house of one and shooting the legs of two brothers. Marching for Hamas

In a bizarre reversal of all their commitment to human rights and the struggle of men and women for independence and self-determination, the European Left has chosen again and again to side with the bullies and to condemn a small nation struggling to survive in a hostile neighborhood. It is all self-contradictory: The Left supports gay rights, yet attacks the only country in the Middle East where gay rights are enshrined in law. Hamas makes death the punishment for being gay, but “we are all Hamas now.” Iran hangs gays, but it is praised as an agent of anti-imperialism, and allowed to get on with its job of stoning women and executing dissidents and members of religious minorities. If UK Premier Gordon Brown swore to wipe France from the face of the earth, he would become a pariah among nations. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad threatens to do that to Israel and is invited to speak to the UN General Assembly.

Salman Rushdie was our canary in the coal mine: He first felt the effects of suffocating gasses that would start to envelope us all.

Rushdie’s fourth novel, The Satanic Verses, published in late 1988 when he was living in Britain, was seen as blasphemous by some Muslims. Feb. 14 will mark 20 years since Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini sent the author a bloody Valentine, issuing a religious decree calling for his death.

Rushdie was forced to live in hiding and under guard for many years and eventually moved to New York.

In 1989, I was struck by the singular strangeness of the whole story. Riot-inciting thought police? In England? In the modern era? Two decades later I’m struck by how encroaching this story has become.

"Why Are We Waging Jihad?"

The Pakistani jihad-terror organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (Army of the Pure) has recently been renamed  Jamaat-u-Da’wa, they are the terror wing of Pakistan’s Islamic Religious Party (MDI) and have been backed with Saudi money and the assistance of the Pakistani ISI, Intelligence Service. They are officially allied with Al Qaeda. What do they want? In a pamphlet entitled “Why Are We Waging Jihad?” they go way beyond the conflict over Kashmir and declare America, Israel and India to be existential enemies of Islam. In case you miss the point, they promise to plant “the flag of Islam” over Washington D.C., Tel Aviv and New Delhi.

Listing “reasons for jihad” they ensure no lack of reasons will ever be found–

“–to eliminate evil and facilitate conversion to the practice of Islam; to ensure the ascendancy of Islam; to force non Muslims to pay the jizya poll tax (make them subjugated peoples); to liberate Muslim territories from a non-Muslim occupation…” and so on and so forth.

It also poses these questions to Muslims:

  • “Have all the obstacles to observing the faith (Islam) in the world been removed?”
  • “Is the current world order that of kaffirs (unbelievers) or of Muslims?”

Since the answer is ‘no’ to both questions, the jihad must continue.

The document also links their jihad movement with the others Muslims are waging (or contemplate) “Christians now rule Spain (once Muslim Andalusia) and we must wrest it back from them. All of India…. were part of the Muslim empire that was lost because Muslims gave up jihad. Palestine is occupied by the Jews. Countries such as Bulgaria, Hungary, Cyprus, Sicily, Ethiopia, Russian & Chinese Turkistan…were Muslim lands and it is our duty to get these back from unbelievers. Even parts of France…were home to Muslim mujahideen but are now under the occupation of unbelievers.” Shari’a law mandates any territory once belonging to Islam, forever belongs to Islam and if lost must be reclaimed. And for Lashkar as well as for Jamaat-e-Islami, that includes India itself.

Access refused

PVV-Tweede MP Sietse Fritsma wants to debate about that next week with the ministers Ernst Hirsch Ballin (Justice) and Eberhard van der Laan (Integration). With the PvdA and CDA the PVV asked Hirsch Ballin if it were possible to refuse Yasin access to the Netherlands.

Incitement to hatred

The minister answered that it was not possible, but that the Public Prosecution Service (Public Prosecution Service) could detain him, however, if Yasin incited to hatred during his visit. According to the PVV, Yasin is a terrorist and a “malicious man.” According to Hirsch Ballin, research has not made it clear that Yasin has in the past made explicit explicit calls to violence.

As many as nine out of ten failed asylum seekers are being allowed to stay in Britain despite having no right to remain, a report from a Government watchdog reveals today.

The backlog of illegal immigrants awaiting deportation is growing fast as the UK Border Agency fails to keep pace with the number of rejected applicants. The number of unprocessed cases is also growing.

And Government rules stating that all successful asylum seekers must have their cases reviewed after five years – to see if their country is now safe enough to return to – have descended into farce, because the Border Agency has no way of tracking those living in Britain and no plans for a review.

Saudi Sheikhs Reject Any Muslim-Arab Peace Initiative, Say Freeing Palestine Of Jews’ Defilement Is Religious Obligation

Dozens of Saudi sheikhs have signed a communiqué banning any peace initiative between Muslims and Jews, recognizing the Jewish right to the land of Palestine, or normalizing relations with them.

The communiqué also stated that freeing the land of Palestine of the defilement by the Jews is a religious obligation incumbent upon the entire Islamic ummah.

* But ‘hudna’ is okay, if necessary:

However, the communiqué permits signing a ceasefire or a calm with the Jewish enemy, provided that it is temporary and that it permits the jihadist resistance factions to build their capabilities in order to prepare for jihad with the Jewish enemy.
