Ever since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the media has consistently reassured us that only a tiny minority of Muslims actually support the use of violence against Israel and the West. It’s just a small fringe, 1% or 3% percent at best, they tell us, so don´t worry about it all too much. Needless to say that the Muslims are doing all they can to make sure we go on believing in this “small fringe.”

But a look at the numbers tells a very different story. The extent of support for global jihad against non-Muslims is frightening, and the numbers are anything but “a small fringe.”

“What part of ‘kill the unbelievers’ is it you don’t understand?”

Just look at the efforts of the supporters of the so-called “Palestinians” explaining to us that “the majority of Arabs/Muslims (including those of Gaza) do not support extremists and radicals.” But in December, 2007, Hamas celebrated its 20th anniversary. The main slogan of this celebration was “Jews, we have already dug up the graves for you.” And “peaceful” Muslims, who “in their majority do not support extremists and radicals,” greeted this slogan with such enthusiasm that it seems the only thing that stopped them from immediately running out and digging more graves for the Jews was the lack of spades (well, maybe Israeli Army had some role, too). According to the AP, almost 500,000 adult inhabitants of Gaza took part in this rally.

Do you know the total number of adult (males and females) inhabitants of Gaza?

It´s 500,000.

SAN’A, Yemen (AP) — Some of Yemen’s most influential Islamic leaders, including one the U.S. says mentored Osama bin Laden, have declared supporters of a ban on child brides to be apostates.

Under the Islamic system, apostates must be killed.

The religious decree, issued Sunday, deeply imperils efforts to salvage legislation that would make it illegal for those under the age of 17 to marry.

MEMRI has produced two video compilations of some of the extremist statements of Youssef Qaradawi. The first collections contains Qaradawi’s statements about Europe and the US as well as about Israel and Jews. Some of these statements have been discussed in previous posts including Qaradawi stating:

  • Islam will conquer Europe through peaceful means.
  • Hitler was divine punishment for the misdeeds of the Jews and that the Holocaust was exaggerated.
  • He desires to end his life in the service of Jihad by visiting Israel and throwing a bomb, becoming a “martyr” in the process
  • Calling for the death of all Jews.
  • Calling for the collapse of the US if it doesn’t end its “unjust ways.”

The second collections contains various statements by Qaradawi on social issues such asdiscussing the killing of homosexuals and stating that beating is “suitable” for some wives.

Youssef Qaradawi is often referred to here as the most important leader of the global Muslim Brotherhood, an acknowledgement of his role as the de facto spiritual leader of the movement.

Clueless about the Jihadists in our midst

A couple of things about the BBC’s excellent Generation Jihad investigation: one, baby jihadis born and raised in the West are driven entirely by ideology (says one British extremist, previously jailed for terrorism offences: “I’ve never been a victim of poverty or any kind of family break-up or anything like that”).

And two, these jihadis are a serious menace, despite – paradoxically – being complete losers.

I thought back to the first part of the series, to the two cocky young men in their nylon tracksuits and flashy trainers, newly released from prison. [BBC journalist Peter] Taylor asked them how their communities had welcomed them back.. Cue wide smiles all round. The food, the presents! The money, the visitors! No one thought that they were terrorists, or anything like terrorists. It was more a case of: “Hail the conquering heroes!” I think we have a problem on our hands.

Unite Against Fascism advertised this event as a confrontation between their supporters and the EDL. The slogan, “No Passaran” does not inevitably mean a physical confrontation, but its association with military struggle, and in particular the Siege of Madrid, does tend to promise a bit of a ruck.

The EDL should be confronted. It is right to show solidarity with British Muslims against these hoodlums.

As a result, Weyman Bennett not only gets the chance to play the martyr, but runs the real risk that he will be imprisoned. I feel sorry for him, and hope that – if the Crown Prosecution Service proceeds against him – it is on the basis of very strong evidence that he was actively involved in concrete and detailed plans to commit violent disorder: and not merely on the grounds that he was a little bit mouthy.

(Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama renewed his administration’s offer of dialogue and diplomacy with Tehran on Saturday, a year after his offer of a new beginning with Iran failed to achieve concrete results.

Obama, who addressed Iranians in a new videotaped appeal to mark the observance of Nowruz — a festival celebrating the arrival of spring — has pledged to pursue aggressive sanctions to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.

Recently, Tarek Fatah wrote a column that condemned former Muslim, Wafa Sultan, who gave a speech recently at a Toronto synagogue. During the speech, Sultan, Syrian-American and author of A God Who Hates, said the Prophet Muhammad raped Aisha, one of his wives when she was nine and he was 54. Evidence makes it clear that this is not true.

Really? What evidence? All the earliest accounts state that Aisha was six or seven when she was married to Mohammed, and nine when the marriage was consummated. The exception is the biography of the Prophet written by Ibn Ishaq (died circa 761) and edited by Ibn Hisham (died 833), which states that Aisha was ten when the marriage was consummated. Muslims: Let’s just be honest. Please.

The Muslim speaker is claiming that there was only one source for Muhammad’s marrigae to the six year old Aisha. This is similar to the claim that Jihad had nothing to do with holy war ~ and that it was all about inner peace ~ that has since been put to rest.

Here is little Aisha in her own words:

‘A’ishah said : I used to play with dolls. Sometimes the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) entered upon me when the girls were with me. When he came in, they went out, and when he went out, they came in.” Sunan Abu Dawud vol.3 no.4913 p.1373

The hathiths point to Muhammad going after another child of the age of 2, but died before he could get his hands on the child….

UK: UAF PROTESTORS CLASH WITH POLICE DURING EDL DEMONSTRATION IN BOLTON…….

Police are trying to contain thousands of demonstrators from the English Defence League (EDL) and Unite Against Fascism (UAF) at a protest in Bolton. More than 1,500 UAF and 2,000 EDL supporters are in Victoria Square and a number of people have been injured.

At least 50 people have been arrested, including the UAF protest organiser on suspicion of conspiracy to commit violent disorder, police said. The EDL says it opposes “militant Islam” and Sharia law. The UAF accuse the EDL of being a far right party but it describes itself as a peaceful, non-political group.
