‘Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rauf (1917-2004), was an Egyptian contemporary of Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood. He was a professor at Al-Azhar University until 1948; in 1965 he moved to New York, where he purchased – with $1.3 million in funding from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Libya – a plot of Manhattan real estate to serve as a site for a large Islamic Cultural Center (ICC) whose construction was bankrolled by sources in 46 Islamic nations — all members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. Construction of the ICC did not begin until 1984. Alyssa Lappen explains the reason for that long delay: “[Muhammad] Rauf withheld information on the Islamic donors until 1984. Only after wrangling for permits for 20 years did Rauf begin construction — at that point, funding sources no longer mattered as construction became a fait accompli.”

What do the controversies around the proposed mosque near Ground Zero, the eviction of American missionaries from Morocco earlier this year, the minaret ban in Switzerland last year, and the recent burka ban in France have in common? All four are framed in the Western media as issues of religious tolerance. But that is not their essence. Fundamentally, they are all symptoms of what the late Harvard political scientist Samuel Huntington called the “Clash of Civilizations,” particularly the clash between Islam and the West.

Huntington’s argument is worth summarizing briefly for those who now only remember his striking title. The essential building block of the post-Cold War world, he wrote, are seven or eight historical civilizations of which the Western, the Muslim and the Confucian are the most important.

Fla. city denies permit for 9/11 Quran burning

Flag burning no problem, but  Koran burning could turn 1.5 gazillion ‘moderate’ Muslims into bloodthirsty, amok running lunatics, and  we can’t have that. Right? Rrright??!

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Officials in a Florida city have denied a burn permit for a church that is seeking to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11.

Interim Fire Chief Gene Prince said Wednesday that the open burning of books is not allowed under Gainesville’s burning ordinance.

The Dove World Outreach Center drew international attention after announcing a plan to burn copies of the Islamic holy text on church grounds to mark the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Prince says the church will be fined if the burning is held.

In an e-mail sent out Wednesday, the church said, “City of Gainesville denies burn permit — BUT WE WILL STILL BURN KORANS.”

The Gainesville church made headlines last year after distributing T-shirts that said, “Islam is of the Devil.”

PANAMA CITY, Fla. / THE ASSOCIATED PRESS – A Republican U.S. House candidate in the Florida Panhandle has told a group of middle and high school students that Islam “is against everything America stands for.”

Some applauded after Ron McNeil’s comment Tuesday at a candidate forum for students in Panama City, but one student challenged McNeil’s comments.

McNeil then said Islam’s “plan is to destroy our way of life.”

The exchange began when McNeil voiced opposition to a proposed Islamic center, including a mosque, two blocks from the World Trade Center site.

McNeil said if it’s built, it should be “nine stories underground, so we can walk above it as citizens and Christians.”

McNeil is one of five Republicans vying to challenge Democratic Rep. Allen Boyd.

Just the facts, Imam. A Muslim terrorist attack damaged a building, allowing Muslims to pick it up for a fraction of the price, in order to build a mosque on the spot. Some people might say that sort of thing is tacky. A little like coming by to make an offer on the house, after your cousin murdered the entire family who lived there. Sure, you might claim that you’re not responsible, but it just doesn’t look good. Especially once you start palling around with your cousin, and suggesting that maybe he was just misunderstood. And maybe that family brought it on themselves.

But the media still insists that Islam had nothing to do with 9/11. Or if it had anything to do with 9/11, it was those “other Muslims”, not these Muslims. The media isn’t really good at explaining the difference between these Muslims and those Muslims. Often the media insists that those Muslims are actually these Muslims. Sometimes they claim that those Muslims are actually not Muslims at all, but people who are upset about foreclosures and work related stress. (Sultan Knish)

Abu Bakar Baasyr accuses investigators of complicity with the United States and Israel. Police claims it has evidence of the cleric’s guilt. In his hometown of Solo, Muslim demonstrators clamour his arrest will “draw God’s (Allah’s) wrath”.

Jakarta (AsiaNews) – Abu Bakar Baasyr (pictured), an extremist Muslim cleric accused of terrorism, is refusing to answer police questions because in his view they are “haram”, i.e. prohibited under Islamic law. Arrested on 9 August in Banjar Patroman, West Java, he has accused investigators of being accomplices of the United States and Israel.
The authorities suspect Baasyr of being the head of Al-Qaidah, a terrorist cell based in Aceh, and al-Qaeda’s top man in Southeast Asia. He has also been charged with funding a training camp for terrorists in Aceh to the tune of a million dollars.

Despite Baasyr’s refusal to answer questions, police spokesman Inspector General Edward Aritonang said that the authorities had evidence against the preacher, including video footage and records of financial transactions.

“Our information points to him as Al-Qaidah chief,” Aritonang explained. “This group of terrorists is new and includes various extremists, with members from Jemaah Islamiyah, Indonesian Islamic State, Jemaah Anshorut Tauhid (JAT) and Kompak”.

Baasyr’s lawyer, Achmad Midan, did confirm that the cleric, who heads JAT, funded paramilitary training for the al-Qaidah group, but denied that it was for terrorist purposes. Instead, he claimed it was designed to prepare men to fight in the Gaza Strip, should Israelis attack Muslims.

In Baasyr’s hometown of Solo, Central Java, Muslims took to the streets waving banners to protest against police and the Densus-88 anti-terror squad. One read, “This arrest will cause natural disaster and draw God’s wrath”.

At the same time in Malaysia, the authorities detained Mustawan Ahbab on charges of helping Baasyr raise funds to sponsor terrorist actions.

Why Kathleen Parker thinks they will follow the example of the despised and weak kuffar is unclear. Whenever Islamic supremacists have been confronted with the fact that Jews and Christians don’t riot and murder over insults to their religion, they respond that that indicates that they don’t care about their religion and aren’t willing to defend it. Islamic supremacists have universally regarded Western tolerance as a sign of weakness, but Kathleen Parker knows it will be different if we tolerate the radically intolerant yet again.

She doesn’t seem to care about where the $100 million to build the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero is coming from, despite the fact that the Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has lied about whether he will be receiving foreign funding. No, that’s all just fine. What Pelosi wants to know is where Pamela Geller and I got $9,000 to run an ad against the mosque on New York City buses. (In reality, we scraped it together from $10 and $20 donations from free citizens, as we have with all our initiatives.)

Welcome to Obama’s America, in which political opposition to the pet projects of the elites can get you investigated and who knows what else. Well, come and get me, Nancy. Do your worst.

Imagine the Mayor of New York saying such a thing after downtown New York was gutted and thousands were murdered by folks backed aggressively by money trails mostly from Saudi Arabia!  Then there is that small detail that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis themselves.  You can read more of Bloomberg’s enlightened comments,  minimizing the money trail of this current mosque,  the size of Texas here.

“I don’t know, and government shouldn’t – do you really want every time they pass the basket in your church and you throw a buck in,  they run over and say,  ‘Okay, now, you know, where do you come from? Who are your parents? Where’d you get this money?”

So far we know that the large money trail emerging behind the aggressive push of this mosque is linked to Saudi Arabia,  Islamic leaders who support the murderous and terrorist group,  HAMAS and support other radical Islamic groups worldwide.  Master private Investigator Doug Hagmann and I talked recently about the compromised money trail behind the mosque and very soon he will have more disturbing information to release on my national radio show and in print.  Stay tuned.  It isn’t pretty,  though Bloomberg no doubt thinks we are wasting our time exploring the money trail.

What many may not realize is that since the 1970s King Fahd and other Saudi leaders issued a directive that “no limits be put on expenditures for the propagation of Islam.  The Washington post talks about the endless spending regarding this goal worldwide.  For example,  in 1984,  $130 million was put into making a printing company to produce Saudi-approved versions of the Koran.  By 2000,  they had distributed 138 million copies.

Saudi Arabia has long felt called to convert the world to Islam or enslave the world,  via tax and oil power.  They also feel the internal call and pressure to compete with Egypt and Iran regarding building the world wide caliphate.

The drama and aggressive Islamic push has continued by the Saudis.
