Socialist Spain plans no celebrations for  throwing out the Moors 400 years ago?  400 years of Mohammedan expulsion no reason to celebrate? WTF happened here?

The defeat of the Moors in 1492 and the expulsion of the Moriscos from 17th-century Spain has become a politically sensitive subject, with Osama bin Laden referring to it in repeated calls for the restoration of al-Andalus, the former Muslim kingdom in the Iberian Peninsula.

Madrid – On September 22, 1609, the regime of Spain’s King Philip III launched the expulsion of the country’s 300,000 Moriscos, as Muslim converts to Christianity were known. The firstexpulsion orders gave the Moriscos of the eastern region ofValencia three days to get to the nearest port, with no luggage other than what they could carry, after which delay they faced reprisals including death.

As Spain marks the 400th anniversary of the launch of the massexpulsion on Tuesday, it is widely regarded as an early example of ethnic cleansing and as a major loss that delayed the country’s development.

The government, however, is not commemorating the event that official Spain feels “uncomfortable” about, as novelist Juan Goytisolo put it.

Muslims known as Moors ruled parts of the Iberian Peninsula from the 8th to the 15th century.

Contrary to popular belief, most of the Muslim conquerors and settlers were not Arabs, but North African Berbers (Amazigh), and  many Spaniards of indigenous origin also converted to Islam.

Muslim Spain, which was known by the name of al-Andalus, was a beacon of high culture in medieval Europe, with its civilization peaking in the 10th century. (The myth of the Mohammedan “Golden Age”, read it here..)

The weakening and divisions among Spain’s Moorish kingdoms facilitated the Christian reconquest of the country, which was completed with the defeat of Granada to Catholic monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella in 1492.

Honor Killing News

We all know that honor killings are common in all cultures and have nothing to do with Islam… right?

Not. Honor Killings are not simply “Domestic Violence” either, but indeed very Islamic. Tarek Fatah, a distinguished scholar of Islam and religious hypocrisy’s scourge, categorically stated that “man-made shariah law, which has been falsely imputed divine status, does allow for the killing of women if they indulge in pre-marital or extramarital consensual sex.”  Read more: Honour killing is not ‘domestic’ violence

Gaza Muslim bludgeons his daughter to death with an iron chain because she owned a cell phone

Yet another honor killing — the 9th in Gaza since the beginning of 2009. “Rights groups: Gaza man suspected of killing daughter for owning cellphone,” from the Jerusalem Post, July 29 (thanks to JW):

A Gaza man is being held on suspicion he bludgeoned his daughter to death with an iron chain because he discovered she owned a cell phone, human rights groups said Wednesday.The groups added that the victim’s three brother’s were also detained.

The woman, a 27-year-old divorced mother of five, was the 10th victim of a so-called “honor killing” in the Palestinian territories and among Arabs in Israel this year.

Spain: Muslim stabs his daughter 20 times in attempted honor killing

A manual of Islamic law certified by Al-Azhar as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy says that “retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right.” However, “not subject to retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.” (‘Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2).

In other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under Islamic law. In accord with this, in 2003 the Jordanian Parliament voted down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. Al-Jazeera reported that “Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.”

Why does it matter that the practice of honor killing has Islamic sanction? Because if the roots of honor killing are never discussed and always ignored, the practice will never stop. Until the Islamic roots of the practice are discussed openly and human rights groups begin calling for reform, honor killings will continue in the Islamic world — and in Muslim communities in the West.

Palma di Mallorca: Police arrest 3 in mosque, 150 Muslims go apeshit…

Police followed a North African suspect into the building. He was arrested together with the president of the Moslem Defence League and the mosque caretaker. WTF? The Moslem Defence League? Why in the f*%#g hell do they need a “Defence League?”

I was just there a month ago. The mosque, believe it or not, is located underneath the cathedral. Heaven knows how that came about. Is the Catholic church aiding and abetting the spread of Islam?

They say that “the sanctuary of a mosque should be respected in the same way as that of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues.” But would police really not enter a church or synagogue in order to make an arrest? I doubt that.

PALMA – THREE arrests were made at Palma’s main mosque in Calle Joan Mestre after police followed a North African suspect into the building. He was arrested together with the president of the Moslem Defence League and the mosque caretaker, both of whom had reportedly tried to prevent the police from entering the premises, saying that the sanctuary of a mosque should be respected in the same way as that of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues.The Moslems claimed that the police had become violent and had used force in making the arrests. However, the police have a very different story to relate. They state they were following a man who had failed to stop when being flagged down on his motorcycle for a roadside check, and that he had taken refuge in the mosque.

On hearing of the incident, some 150 angry local Moslems protested outside the police station, saying that relations between the Islamic community and the security forces were now at an all-time low due to their holy site not being respected.
An internal enquiry is to be launched to establish exactly what happened during the incident.

Apologists for Islam often make the  claim that Muslims offered asylum, no, “saved the Jews” from the Christians. There are actually some Jews who do believe that, because they simply never bothered to read up on history. One Islamic agit prop, the pesky “Sammer” who persists in posting his drivel on Andrew Bolt’s blog, doesn’t shy away from making preposterous claims like this:

“If it weren’t for the Muslims, the Christians would have wiped the Jews off this planet hundreds of years ago. When the Christians were skewering and grilling the Jews alive who saved them? Aside from the Muslims who absorbed them into their societies in North Africa, Sultan Bayezid took them all in and established a Jewish State in Salonica hundreds of years before the foundation of Israel.

Muslims and Jews lived in PEACE while the Muslims protected them from extermination by the Christians. This continued even into the Holocaust wherein Balkan Muslims were widely reported to have saved thousands of Jews from the Nazis.”

This is as good as any fairy tale from Arabia, because the Koran verse above actually proves the opposite: the Muslims granted asylum yes, but  “so that they may hear the word of Allah”, which defeats the purpose of the exercise. Once the asylum-dhimmi thought he was safe, he was humiliated, spat upon and pressurized to convert, and threatened to pay the jiziya with willing submission,  or else... That’s quite a different concept of “asylum” as we know it.  Since the unbelievers are “dumb, deaf and blind” (men without knowledge) they were given a temporary reprieve, say up to one year,  during which they could chose to submit to the light of Islam, move on to other pastures or to become totally impoverished dhimmies, despised, ‘brought low’ at the mercy of the Muslims. And we know that Muslims are not to show any mercy to unbelievers from other Koran verses.

As meticulously documented by Andrew Bostom and others more briefly, the history of Islamic anti-Semitism is persistent, pervasive, and severe. To the extent that Albanian Muslims — even if they were Muslim merely culturally or by default — protected Jews from the Holocaust, they are worthy and remarkable exemplars. Will other Muslims follow the Albanians’ example in future troubled times?

During wiretapped conversations, the men discussed an attack on Charles De Gaulle airport outside Paris and spoke of the need to “strike at the British”, Italian police said.

Bassam Ayachi, 62, a Syrian imam with French citizenship, and Raphael Frederic Gendron, 33, a Frenchman who converted to Islam, were allegedly part of an al-Qaeda cell operating in Europe.

* Unfortunately, the writer of this highly biased ANSAmed article conflates race with ideology. As we all know, Islam is not a race, and if Spanish youth rejects aggressive Musulmanic invaders they are perfectly within their rights. The article also blames ‘xenophobic feelings’, which is idiotic. Spaniards are clearly not ‘xenophobic’.

Racial intolerance by young people towards Muslims is on the rise, according to a survey realized in the Spanish schools. The feelings of the Spanish teenagers towards foreigners, based on the survey, are currently being examined by the Racism and Migration Study Centre. Before the deadly attacks in Madrid, the gipsies were the racist target of the Spanish youths who today turn their xenophobic feelings towards Moroccans even if from 2002 up to now the percentage of those who do not want North Africans in Spain fell from 48.6% to 39.1%. (ANSAmed).

* As we can see here from an older article, Muslim ‘reverts’ are causing a fair bit of irritation. About 20,000 of Spain’s estimated 1 million Muslims are Spanish converts, many of whom were drawn to the religion in the 1970s. These ‘new Muslims’ are highly priced cannon fodder in jihadi-circles; blue-eyed or Western looking people arouse less suspicion. Three converts were among those arrested in the British planes plot this summer.
