Where are the fatwas? The angry marches in front of embassies, the indignant speeches? Where are al-Qaeda’s videos? In short, what does China have that Denmark did not? China has been actively discriminating against Muslims, and recently a number of them have been killed in violent street riots.

The trial of the seven Muslims, who are unrepresentative of their community, resulted in three of them (pictured): Mohammed Zackriya, 21; Mohammed Taj, 37; and Mohammed Shabir (Snr), a 36-year-old, father-of-five, all of Yorkshire, being found guilty of 28 sexual offences against an underage white girl. They were sentenced to a total of 18 years in jail.

Semarang, 16 July (AKI/The Jakarta Post) – Indonesian police have again arrested Muslim cleric, Pujiono Cahyono Widianto, in a continuing controversy over his marriage to a 12-year-old girl. Pujiono was rearrested for failing to cooperate following his marriage to Lutfiana Ulfa.

It’s lawful under Sharia, per Muhammad’s own example. Hence Widianto’s complete disregard for Indonesian law.

UPDATE: Masjid ibn Al Khattab was an interesting choice for Holder. Al Khattab is in a rather shabby section of town. It is right across the street from the USC campus and is the place of worship for USC students who are Muslim. They may have their own gatherings on campus, but when they wish to formally attend a mosque, they attend Al Khattab. The USC student Muslim student group is one of the most radical in the state. Al Khattab is controlled largely by the Nation of Islam. It was built by Saudi Arabia – overtly – and celebrates the Saudis with murals inside the mosque.

How many shuls and and churches have senior members of BO’s adminstration visited? Just askin. This has become a venal obsession.

Atty. Gen. Eric Holder Jr. made a well-publicized visit to Los Angeles this week to announce stimulus grants to help fight drug trafficking and to help the victims of domestic violence. But in a quieter event not announced to the news media or public, Holder stopped at a mosque to meet with Muslim American youths.

“The point was to engage the Muslim community here in Los Angeles and make sure they understand this administration’s commitment to work with that community,” Justice Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.

The relationship between the Muslim American community and the department has come under increasing strain. This year, a coalition of the nation’s largest Muslim organizations issued a statement demanding that the Obama administration address FBI actions, including what they described as the “infiltration of mosques,” the use of “agent provocateurs to trap unsuspecting Muslim youth” and the “deliberate vilification” of one of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights organizations.

PD*12985032Villagers in southern Lebanon on Saturday prevented UN peacekeepers from searching an abandoned building near a suspected Hizbullah weapons depot that exploded last week, a Lebanese security official said.

The official said dozens of men in Bir e-Salasel surrounded UNIFIL vehicles on Saturday and ordered the peacekeepers to leave.

Fourteen UNIFIL men were wounded when some 100 locals attacked them, Israel Radio reported. When the troops called for backup, the villagers fired at the reinforcements.

The killer of three Australians in Jakarta this week may be the man that’s helped kill Australians before:

SOUTH-EAST Asia’s most wanted man, militant Islamist Noordin Mohammed Top, is behind the twin bombings of the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels in Jakarta, according to Indonesian officials, who have launched a manhunt for the terrorist wanted over a string of attacks since he plotted the first Bali bombings.

He should now be on the top of the most-wanted lists of both ASIO and the Federal Police.
