Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday (Sept. 23) used the  platform of the U.N. General Assembly to lash out once again at the U.S. and Israel, telling world leaders, “[The] American empire in the world is reaching the end of its road…”
Speaking about Israel, Ahmadinejad said, “Today, the Zionist regime is on a definite slope to collapse, and there is no way for it to get out of the cesspool created by itself and its supporters.”
The 63rd session of the U.N. General Assembly began on Sept. 16, and the general debate is scheduled for Sept. 23 – Oct. 1.
Ahmadinejad’s comments Tuesday echo past remarks he has made, including calls to annihilate Israel and threats to the U.S. and other countries that supportIsrael. In June, Ahmadinejad said, “The countdown for the decline of America’s demonic power has begun.” [1] A month earlier, Ahmadinejad said, “If countries in the region continue to [support] Israel they will be burned by the wrath of the nations.” [2]

The Attorney General has accomplished a very worthwhile task here in raising the issue of female genital mutilation in the mainstream media, as many in the United States likely don’t even know the practice exists, let alone that it is so widespread. Mukasey himself probably doesn’t know it is considered obligatory in the Shafi’i school of Islamic jurisprudence (cf. Umdat al-Salik e4.3), and justified with references to ahadith.
But there is much more Western countries could be doing to eradicate this practice, from speaking out against it more frequently to tying aid to meaningful and verifiable steps in outlawing the practice and punishing the perpetrators. And above all, no sense of “cultural sensitivity” should stop them from making every effort to keep immigrants from those countries from continuing the practice in the West.

But if every such “victim of female genital mutilation” or of any other practice that is encouraged by Islam were to be given such asylum, this country would sink under the weight of immigrants who will not have left Islam at the door, even if they have suffered from it. Look at those who leave Muslim lands because of the despotism and economic backwardness, both of them attributable to Islam, but these people bring their Islam with them, and make life, as a result, very difficult, and ultimately represent a permanent danger to the continued existence of our legal and political institutions of our own country, for the Sharia flatly contradicts the spirit and letter of the American Constitution. And even now, with relatively small numbers, they show every sign of aggressively using the power they do have, in the numbers they do have, to persuade or intimidate the Infidels among whom they have come to live into not discussing or finding out about Islam or disseminating what they have found out about it to other Infidels.
Sentimentalism, of the wrong kind, cannot justify this kind of immigration policy. Spend the time better ridiculing, mocking, attacking the policy of FGM (as it is now so conveniently referred to), and those nations that practice it. The Infidel Man’s Burden is getting heavier and heavier, and we just have to lighten the load.

(ANSAmed) — ROME, SEPTEMBER 17 — Italy has not forgotten the problem of credits claimed by Italian companies and co-nationals expelled from Libya in 1970, an issue which “will be discussed in a parallel negotiation which we pledge to start” with Tripoli after the signing of the agreement between Italy and Libya on August 30, Italian Foreign Minister, Franco Frattini, said in Parliament. The head of the Italian diplomacy said that the Italian negotiators have already refused 450 million euro which Libyans offered to pay as compensation for the credits claimed by Italian companies. Italy did not accept the offer because the sum is insufficient and Libya “accepted to continue the talks”, Frattini said. “Italy has launched a more efficient collaboration, much more efficient than in the past, in the fight against human trafficking and illegal immigration,” the minister addedd, commenting on the recent signing of the friendship and collaboration agreement between Rome and Tripoli.

An IDF soldier has lost sight in one of his eyes after a Palestinian woman attacked him with acid at the Hawara checkpoint on Monday afternoon. The checkpoint is located south of the West Bank city of Nablus.
 Troops managed to apprehend the woman, who is believed to have carried out a similar attack several weeks ago at the same crossing. She was arrested and taken for questioning. The soldier was evacuated to the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva for treatment.

BAGHDAD (AP) — An Iraqi magazine cartoon depicting a female suicide bomber in a pose like the Statue of Liberty, arm raised with a lit bomb fuse instead of a torch in her hand, has angered lawmakers who voted to sue the publication for allegedly damaging the image of Muslim women.
