The trial of the seven Muslims, who are unrepresentative of their community, resulted in three of them (pictured): Mohammed Zackriya, 21; Mohammed Taj, 37; and Mohammed Shabir (Snr), a 36-year-old, father-of-five, all of Yorkshire, being found guilty of 28 sexual offences against an underage white girl. They were sentenced to a total of 18 years in jail.

Semarang, 16 July (AKI/The Jakarta Post) – Indonesian police have again arrested Muslim cleric, Pujiono Cahyono Widianto, in a continuing controversy over his marriage to a 12-year-old girl. Pujiono was rearrested for failing to cooperate following his marriage to Lutfiana Ulfa.

It’s lawful under Sharia, per Muhammad’s own example. Hence Widianto’s complete disregard for Indonesian law.

The comments were made in an interview on the Andrew Marr Show last Sunday when the BBC One show host asked him what should be done about people who want to come to Britain.

Mr Griffin said: “If we’re going to allow them to come, for a start, I’d say, ‘Well, let’s start sticking them in Hampstead in the places where the liberal elite live instead of poor places like Barking and Barnsley and Manchester and see how you people like it.”

For that he gets £45,000 in damages?

BBC pays damages to Muslim “leader”

The secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, Muhammad Abdul Bari       Mr Bari has publicly condemned the killing of British troops

The BBC has agreed to pay £45,000 in damages to the head of the Muslim Council of Britain over a libellous claim in the Question Time programme.

The claim was made by a panellist on the programme, who accused Muhammad Abdul Bari of implicitly condoning the kidnap and killing of British soldiers.

Mr Bari argued this was untrue, citing his public condemnation of the killing of British troops in Iraq in 2007.

The BBC accepted the argument and apologised unreservedly.

The libellous claim – made on the 12 March 2009 edition of Question Time – came in response to a question from an audience member concerning controversial protests in March by a group of Muslim men against a regiment of British troops on parade in Luton on their return from duty in Iraq.

Wearing the burqa is neither Islamic nor socially acceptable

I am a Shia Muslim and I abhor the burqa. I am offended by the unchallenged presumption that women covering their heads and bodies and now faces are more pious and true than am I.

Another Westernized Muslimah who speaks against the burka? We just featured  Mona Eltahawy from New York, so that makes a whopping two. Very well, since the witness of two women (kind of) equals that of one man, lets hear it from Yasmin:

Islam in all its diverse forms entitles believers to a personal relationship with Allah – it cuts out middlemen, one reason its appeal extended to so many across the world. You can seek advice from learned scholars and imams, but they cannot come between your faith and the light of God. Today control freaks who claim they have a special line to the Almighty have turned our world dark. Neo-conservative Islamic codes spread like swine flu, an infection few seem able to resist.

The disease is progressive. It started 20 years ago with the hijab, donned then as a defiant symbol of identity, now a conscript’s uniform. Then came the jilbab, the cloak, fought over in courts when schoolgirls were manipulated into claiming it as an essential Islamic garment. If so, hell awaits the female leaders of Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Soon, children as young as four were kitted up in cloaks and headscarves (“so they get used to it, and then later wear the full thing,” said a teacher to me who works at a Muslim girls’ school) and now for the graduation gown, a full burqa, preferably with dark glasses.

White liberals frame this sinister development in terms of free choice and tolerance. Some write letters to this paper: What is the problem? It is all part of the rich diversity of our nation. They can rise to this challenge, show they are superhuman when it comes to liberty and forbearance.

Labour calls BNP ‘racist and extremist’

Baroness Kinnock, the newly appointed Europe minister, said that Nick Griffin, the BNP leader and an MEP since the last election, had not been invited to the occasion. “We do not associate in any way with what are clearly racist and extremist individuals,” she said. “It was not my decision, as some people think, but I fully support it. It is long-standing Government policy not to have such dealings with racist extremists such as the BNP.”

Mr Griffin also accused mainstream British politicians supporting Unite Against Fascism, which he called “an organisation of far-Left criminals which routinely deploys intimidation and violence against nationalist dissidents in Britain”.

Home Secretary Alan Johnson last night refused point blank to cap the number of immigrants coming to Britain. And he said he does not ‘lie awake at night’ worrying about the population hitting 70million.

Official figures show at the current rate of increase the British population will hit the milestone within 20 years, with a further seven million immigrants placing a burden on public services.

Immigration Minister Phil Woolas has pledged that the Government will not allow the population to grow to that level. But last night he was apparently undermined by his boss.

Speaking at the Home Affairs Select Committee, Mr Johnson said he would not bring in a cap because it would harm the economy, claiming the argument that immigration had made a contribution to the economy was ‘irrefutable’.

‘I do not lie awake at night worrying about a population of 70million,’ he told the cross-party group of MPs.

‘I’m happy to live in a multi-cultural society. I’m happy to live in a society where we not only welcome those coming to live and work in this country, but also where we can go and live and work in other countries.’

Extra pressure on reception classes in September is a “direct result of mass immigration” into the United Kingdom, it was claimed.

In the last eight years, the number of births to foreign mothers has increased by 64 per cent, figures show.

But in the same period, birthrates among UK families rose by six per cent.

The Cross Party Group on Balanced Migration said ministers were “misleading” the public by failing to acknowledge the problem.

Nick Griffin, the BNP’s leader, elected in the North West of England, and his colleague Andrew Brons, representing Yorkshire and Humber, made a low key arrival in Strasbourg to avoid the press.

The BNP MEPs have been placed in seats numbered 781 and 782 for the next five years, close, just one row in front, of the new Conservative and Reformist Group founded by the British Tories.

Guidelines will tell forces to press for conviction only in cases of clear-cut criminal acts. Officers will be advised not to proceed when evidence of lawbreaking is “borderline”.

Three men were today jailed for an arson attack on a publisher after discovering he was going to produce a book about the Prophet Mohammed and his child bride.

Martin Rynja had the door to his home in Lonsdale Square, Islington, north London, doused in diesel and set ablaze in September last year.

Ali Beheshti and Abrar Mirza admitted, and Abbas Taj was found guilty of, planning the attack on Gibson Square Books Ltd.

In the days before the arson attack Jones’ book had been likened to The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie, which provoked a storm of protest in the Muslim world.

An Islamic group outlawed in Pakistan but legal in Britain dreams of establishing a fundamentalist Pakistan – and then taking over the planet: 

Followers of the fundamentalist group Hizb ut-Tahrir have called for a “bloodless military coup” in Islamabad and the creation of the caliphate in which strict Islamic laws would be rigorously enforced.

Members of the group, which describes itself as the Liberation party in Britain but is banned in Pakistan, revealed last week that it had targeted the country as a base from which to spread Islamic rule across the world.

The Sunday Times has obtained the names of a dozen British Hizb ut-Tahrir activists based in Lahore and Karachi, or commuting between Britain and Pakistan. There are believed to be many more.

Pakistan (otherwise known as the ‘land of the pure’) was founded on Islam and nothing but Islam. They’ve had sixty years for killing the remaining Hindus, Christians, Sikhs,  Buddhists and other minorities. They were a bit slack.  Lately they’re making a bit more effort….

We’ve got Hizbies in Australia, too. They tend – along with their media defenders – not to be particularly smart.

Ten People Banned From Britain

This May, UK Home Secretary Jaqcui Smith released the names of 16 people who are banned from entering Britain on the grounds that they foster or promote hate and extremism. Among those appearing on the “named and shamed” list is super right-wing American talk-show host Michael Savage, who once branded the Quran “a book of hate” and claimed that most children with autism are “a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out.” Also on the list is Fred Phelps, Baptist pastor of the “God hates f—-” vitriol who, along with his coterie of equally insane, equally hateful “congregants,” make a sport of demonstrating at the funerals of US soldiers and blaming the gays for the war in Iraq.

But these 16 who have been named as part of this public shaming exercise are just the tip of the banned-from-Britain iceberg, and we decided to see who else we could find who’s had the doors of Britannia slammed in their face.

It’s frankly hard to believe that any country would want to ban Martha, domestic goddess of all that is clean and organized and Connecticut, but it’s true: In June 2008, Martha Stewart was denied permission to enter the UK because of her 2004 conviction on charges of obstructing justice. Stewart spent five months in jail for the conviction – and knitted a lovely grey poncho for herself while she was there – then went right back to her media empire after serving her time. But Britain still wanted to no part of jailbird Martha and the denial of entry stands.
