"Britain Needs New Laws to Get Rid of the BNP"

They are therefore covered not by the racial hatred laws but by the 2006 Act dealing with incitement to religious hatred. The latter requires not only that the offending material should be explicitly “threatening” but that the prosecution should prove subjective intent, which in practice means that the religious hatred law is completely useless as a means of combating the BNP.”

Senior prosecutors are calling for the laws on race hate crimes to be strengthened to counter the threat posed by the British National party.

The threshold for securing a conviction is so high that far-right activists are able to evade prosecution for material that many people would consider to be threatening and racist, according to sources at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). Several BNP leaflets have been referred to the CPS over the last five years – some by senior police officers and one by a judge – but no further action has been taken.

Peter Herbert, the chairman of the Society of Black Lawyers and a part-time judge, submitted a complaint last year over a leaflet called The Changing Face of London that had two pictures, one depicting an all-white street party from the 1950s, the other showing three Muslim women wearing a niqab, one of whom is making a V-sign towards the camera.

Under the law, it has been extremely difficult to mount a prosecution against extremism and hate speech,” said Herbert. “But with the rise of the BNP, and the subsequent rise in racist attacks and the fear the party’s leaflets can provoke, it is essential we are given the tools to deal effectively with this threat.”

A Muslim teacher was barred from visiting a Catholic college after refusing to remove her full-face veil so staff could identify her.

Now the school may face a claim of religious discrimination after the woman left rather than agreeing to reveal her face.

The teacher, who works at an Islamic school, was attending an open day at the sixth form college along with two teenage pupils, all of them wearing veils which left only their eyes visible.

They were asked to remove them as it was against the college policy – but while the girls complied, their teacher refused.

The incident, which happened in Jack Straw’s Blackburn constituency, comes as the issue of the full-face veil is once again at the centre of debate, and could see the school plunged into a court battle.

TWO men from Salford have appeared in court in connection with the rape and sexual assault of two teenagers.

At Manchester Magistrates Court it was alleged that a 15 year old girl was taken to a flat in Hulme by two men, where she was raped and her friend, also 15, was sexually attacked.

Mohamed Nasr, 23, of Liverpool Road, Eccles, was charged with rape and sexual assault. Mubaraj Abdulwali, 19, of Mellor Street, Eccles, was charged with sexual assault.

Both men were refused bail and committed to Crown Court for plea and case management on September 3.

The arson attack on Greenwich Islamic Centre just after midnight last Tuesday which caused about £10,000 of damage could have been much worse had it not been for the bravery of the mosque’s caretaker, Mohammed Koheeli.

Mr Koheeli received burns on his left arm and to the side of his face as he tried to fight the blaze while waiting for the fire brigade to arrive. The Greenwich borough commander, Richard Wood, has assured worshipers at the mosque that he has “assigned a team of highly trained detectives” to the case. No one has been arrested to date over the attack but many worshipers suspect it to have been far-right inspired.

NEW legislation has failed to stop forced marriages taking place, according to an Enfield support group.

Ila Bel, from Enfield Saheli, in Fore Street, Edmonton, said her charity was seeing an increasing number of women who were “really messed up” after being forced to marry under Sharia law.

In September, the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act came into effect making forced marriages unlawful, following a campaign by MP Ann Cryer.

At a conference in Westminster organised by Enfield’s South Asian Forum, Mrs Cryer said she had been prompted to take action to prevent forced marriages when she realised fathers were asking her for help with visas for new husbands to be brought to Britain, against the will of their daughters…

* Well, I guess this gives “shafted” a whole new meaning…

I have chronicled many of the growing numbers of rapes perpetrated by muslim taxi drivers – but these rapes have all been of women –  this latest victim of taxi driver rape is a man.

“A man was raped by a taxi driver who followed him into his block of flats after driving him home. The 20-year-old victim got into the cab at Quay Street in Manchester city centre in the early hours of Sunday after a night out. When the taxi arrived at Salford Quays, the driver refused to take payment. The man went into his flat block, but was grabbed by the driver as he waited for the lift. He was raped in the stairwell of the building, police said.

….The rapist was described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, dark skinned, possibly Asian, and of middle eastern or Iraqi appearance.”

The horrible crime has left the violated young man “traumatised”.

The number of British passports given to migrants is set to hit a record 220,000 this year.

In the first three months of 2009, 54,615 citizenship applications were approved – up 57 per cent on the same period in 2008.

At that rate, the number receiving passports – and with them the right to full benefits – this year will smash the record of 164,540 set in 2007.

Last year the total was 129,310, and when Labour came to power in 1997, just 37,010 people were given citizenship.

* Muslims will win fast-track passports if they stand on picket lines or knock on doors asking people to vote Labour, it emerged last night.

It means approvals have rocketed by almost 500 per cent under the current Government.
