From Harry’s: Iran to Execute Innocents “Pour Encourager Les Autres”

The Islamic Republic of Iran has shifted its tactics. Instead of merely shootingIranian democracy protestors in the streets, or abducting them to rape in prison, the regime is now holding show trials, ending in conviction on a bunch of trumped up charges and – inevitably – execution.

The first such trial took place last week. Three were sentenced to death.

Here is the story of Nasser Abdolhosseini, one of those who is to be hanged:

Officials rethink arms sales to Turkey

Wow, what happened here? Perhaps it wasn’t such a good idea to sell modern weaponry and equipment to rapidly Islamizing Turkey? How about pulling the plug on Turkey’s NATO membership?

Erdogan’s complaint: ‘The world blamed Islam for Islamic terror’

This is rich.

This is from a speech on Monday by Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan to the Turkish Religious Council.

“People just watched from the comfort of their seats as phosphorus bombs rained on innocent children in Gaza,” The Turkish agency Sabah quoted Erdogan as saying. “In international platforms, efforts ensued to blame Islam for Islamic terror.”

“… When phosphorus bombs were rained on innocent children in Gaza, the whole world, all of humanity, watched from their comfortable chairs and their safe havens,” the Turkish prime minister said.

“However, as all this was happening, unfortunately from time to time in international discussion platforms, the term ‘Islamic terror’ began to be used, and efforts were made to place blame on the Muslims and Islam,” he said.

Whom does he think is to blame for Islamic terror – Hindus? Buddhists? Christians? (I won’t say Jews because in his perverse way I’m sure he would blame Jews).

And what would Erdogan do if terrorists were lobbing rockets at Turkey from Greece, Armenia or Iraq? In fact, Kurdish rebels did lob rockets at Turkey from Iraq and Turkey responded more harshly than Israel did (and didn’t suffer it for eight years before doing so). They killed dozens of Kurds, although if you ask Erdogan he will tell you that only sheep and cattle were killed, as if he could tell from his side of the border.

What a hypocritical moron.

While Israel kept a low official profile Sunday on Turkey’s cancellation of a joint military exercise, defense officials said advanced weapons sales to Turkey would now be reviewed, and a leading academic expert on Israeli-Turkish relations suggested ending support for Turkey on the Armenian genocide issue in Washington if the deterioration in ties continues.
