There are more than 130 Muslim schools in Britain, as well as Hindu, Sikh and Greek Orthodox Schools. The project also hopes to involve the 2,500 Roman Catholic schools throughout Britain.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews is the first organization in Britain to launch a program that will engage with all faith groups.

GORDON Brown risked accusations of being deluded yesterday by declaring there are no “no-go areas” for non-Muslims in Britain.
The Prime Minister dismissed fears raised by the Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, that Islamic extremists are cutting off many communities.

The leading cleric has also argued that Government multi-cultural policies are fostering racial separation and undermining Britain’s Christian heritage.

But Mr Brown brushed aside the concerns as he answered a question from the Daily Express at his monthly press conference.

His claim is bound to provoke accusations that he is out of touch with the experience of many people.

Hypocrite Straw reprimands magistrate who walked out of court due to veiled Muslim defendant

Jack Straw was accused of hypocrisy yesterday after censuring a magistrate who refused to deal with a case in which a Muslim woman wore a face veil.
The Justice Secretary issued a formal reprimand to Ian Murray even though Mr Straw himself famously asks women to remove their veils in his constituency office.

Mr Straw said in October 2006 that veils were “a statement of separation and difference”.

Philip Davies, Tory MP for Shipley, a West Yorkshire constituency with a strong Muslim presence, said:

“He is a complete hypocrite.”

“Jack Straw tells everyone that he will ask anyone who wears a veil to remove it, then he turns round and disciplines someone for following his line.

“People are fed up to the back teeth with continual concessions to minority groups, in particular in the courts.”

In his role as Lord Chancellor and head of the legal system, Mr Straw yesterday backed an order that Mr Murray should go for further training and guidance in court procedure.

Australia Joins China In Censoring The Internet

The Australian Government has announced that they will be joining China as one of the few countries globally that broadly censor the internet.

The Labor Party’s policy was announced prior to the Australian Election in November (release here) and was justified on the basis that the previous Government’s policy of providing free copies of NetNanny to all Australian households who wanted it didn’t adequately protect children.

As recently as the week prior to the election, Labor Party candidates were telling those concernedabout the proposed law that the censorship wouldn’t be compulsory, and that the “clean feed” would be opt-in, not opt-out. Today’s announcement by Telecommunications Minister Stephen Conroy states that the censorship regime will be mandatory, although people will be able to opt-out of it. The problem of course then becomes if you opt-out questions will be asked as to why you want out, which in itself may lead to Government monitoring.

To be censored by the Australian Government is “pornography and inappropriate material.” X rated pornography is illegal online in Australia, as are casino style internet gambling, certain forms of “hate” speech and R rated computer games. BitTorrent would be a possibility, even if certain downloads for personal use may be legal under Australian law, sharing those downloads would not be. How far “inappropriate material” may extend was not made clear, for example questioning Government policy where it comes to Aboriginal people could be deemed to be discrimination under Australian law and hence blocked by the censorship regime. Worst still, bloggers or those (such as forum owners) who allow users to comment or post could find themselves blocked under this proposal should someone say or post the wrong thing. If there is one certainty in any country that implements broadscale censorship, once they start blocking content it doesn’t stop, and certainly every do-gooder group and special interest lobbyist will be wanting the Government to add to the list.

THREE more Muslim schools are on the drawing board for Sydney within the next six years in a drive to develop home-grown religious leaders.

And the backlash against the proposed Islamic school at Camden would not stop plans to build more, a Muslim educator said yesterday.

Forum on Australia’s Islamic Relations vice-president Silma Ihram said the push to open new schools was important for establishing Australian imams.

Ms Ihram, an Australian-born convert and the former principal of Noor al Houda Islamic College, said many of the controversial statements by Muslim leaders in Australia over the past two years had been made by religious figures “imported” from overseas.

“The difficulty we’ve got is that if you want to be an imam there is nowhere in Australia to learn – that’s why we’re getting imported imams,” said Ms Ihram, who is a consultant for the controversial Camden school.

“You have to leave the country to get that education – that’s difficult. It’s a huge risk. You don’t know really what influence some of these teachers will have – it could be positive or it could be negative.”

The mother of six said even religious leaders raised in Australia – but who were trained overseas – often had difficulty marrying their religious leaning to Australian culture.

The proposed new schools would bring the total number of Islamic schools in Sydney to 16. Nationwide there are about 30 Islamic schools.

Ms Ihram said other existing schools may also be expanded and moved to other sites.

The application to build an Islamic school for 1200 students in Camden has met with strong community opposition.

The council received more than 3000 submissions on the application – most of them opposing it. No decision has been made on the application.

Housewife accused of flushing husband down toilet

Police believe the woman chopped up the man and flushed repeatedly.

Dusseldorf (dpa) – German police are hunting a housewife on murder charges after she allegedly told her children she had flushed their father down the toilet.

The man, a taxi-driver, vanished three weeks ago. Police in the western city of Dusseldorf believe the wife, 52, chopped him up and disposed of 100 kilograms of body parts in garbage bins and down the toilet.

The Muslim couple hated one another.

After her adult children asked where he was, she replied: “You’ll never find him. I’ve put him down the loo.”

Neighbours said the toilet had been flushed constantly on the night he disappeared.

The woman left Germany and was last seen in her native Macedonia, according to the police.

German police will issue an international warrant for her arrest but are aware that Macedonia does not extradite its own citizens.

Police scientists said the couple’s apartment had been energetically cleaned and repainted, but using disclosing solutions they found bloodstains in the living room, hall and bathroom. Experts are to search the sewer next.

A teenage bride was beaten to death by her husband while her in-laws who shared the same house ignored her sickening ordeal, a court heard yesterday.

Sabia Rani, 19, was repeatedly attacked over a three-week period, suffering bruising over 90% of her body and ‘catastrophic’ injuries usually only seen in car crash victims.

The ‘vulnerable’ teenager, who had arrived five months earlier from Pakistan for the arranged marriage, required emergency treatment in a hospital intensive care unit, the jury at Leeds Crown Court heard.

 But not only did four members of her husband’s family do nothing to help her, they turned a blind eye as he continued the beatings and ultimately murdered the helpless young woman at the house they all shared, it was alleged.

The victim’s mother-in-law and a sister-in-law blamed her horrfic injuries, which included at least 15 fractures on 10 fractured ribs, on ‘evil spirits, curses and black magic.’ While two of the family allegedly lied under oath while giving evidence in husband Shazad Khan’s murder trial in a deliberate attempt to help him cheat justice, the court heard.

When someone is released, he doesn’t say: ‘Thank God I am free.’ He says: ‘Thank God I am free of the takfir supporters there.'”

Mullah Sorkh Naqaibullah told the BBC he paid $15,000 (£7,500) to the Afghan authorities to win his freedom.

It was the third time that the leader, known as the “Red Mullah”, had been captured and released, he said.

Mullah Naqaibullah operates in Helmand province, where there is a large concentration of British troops.

A British al Qaeda trained terrorist was jailed today after being arrested at Heathrow Airport on his way to fight coalition forces in Afghanistan.

Dental assistant Sohail Qureshi, 30, told fellow extremists he planned to “kill many” during a two-to three-week mission, possibly fighting British troops.

He was jailed at the Old Bailey for four and a half years – but could be free in just over a year because of the time he has spent awaiting trial.

Police refused to comment publicly after sentencing but privately senior anti-terrorist detectives were said to be “disappointed” with the verdict.

After his sentencing this afternoon, Scotland Yard released photographs of Qureshi posing with an M16 and a AK47 assault rifle and sources described him as a “significant player” with long-term links to al Qaeda.

They are believed to have been taken at training camps in Pakistan which he is known to have visited a number of times in the last 10 years.

The Pakistani-born Muslim was working as a £1,100-a-month dental assistant in Barking at the time of his arrest at Heathrow in November 2006 when he tried to board a flight to Islamabad with a night-vision scope, metal batons and £9,000 in cash.

He claimed he was going to visit his family for the Islamic festival of Eid. Qureshi, of Forest-Gate, is the first to be convicted under new legislation targeting the preparation of terrorist acts. He was held after a joint operation involving the Yard’s Counter Terrorism Command and the Security Services.

Investigations revealed Qureshi offered to help the war effort in Pakistan and Afghanistan. An intercept communication revealed him telling one of his contacts: “All I know is it’s a two- to three-week operation….. Pray that I kill many.”

The bishop is bravely giving voice to one of the great unspoken fears of our country: That our mainly Christian society is being swept aside as Islam stakes its claim to be our main religion.

And as a Pakistani-born churchman, the Rochester bishop cannot be accused of racism — the usual response whenever someone dares raise the M word.

* Grow some balls, Fergus: Islam is a political ideology, not a race.

Of course, Nazir-Ali and his boss the Archbishop of Canterbury share the blame for the Church of England’s empty pews.

Their squabbles about gay priests and women vicars have driven churchgoers away. All the while, mosques have been springing up from leafy suburbs to rough estates.

The point about being British is that you don’t need to be a practising Christian to appreciate that our culture is underpinned by Christianity.

Christianity has sculpted the fabric of our society, from our carols and cathedrals to our laws and language.

Islam is an uncompromising religion.

In its most extreme form it can be deeply unpleasant in its treatment of women, who can be denied education, forced into marriage and murdered for refusing a male relative’s order.

Militant Islamic leaders — the ones most active in Britain today — do not believe in halfway houses.

That is why they want mosques to broadcast the call to prayer from loudspeakers three times a day.

In Oxford, the mosque has already applied for consent to trumpet its prayer calls over the spires of the ancient university. Thank God Inspector Morse isn’t here to see it.

Almost half of Muslims here say they would prefer to be governed by Islamic Sharia law, which believes women should be stoned to death for adultery and thieves should have their hands hacked off.

Such barbarism has no place in Britain. Yet every day more people arrive here who believe in it.

The surge of Islam has been the flip coin of uncontrolled immigration under Labour. Politicians and church leaders have pussyfooted around the subject for fear of rocking the boat.

You can’t blame the Muslims for taking advantage.

Bishop Nazir-Ali is bang on the money when he talks about ‘no-go’ areas for Christians in fundamentalist Muslim ghettoes in Britain.

But he could have gone further still. 

This country is littered with ‘no-go’ areas, not just physically, but culturally, spiritually, intellectually and academically, too. Our very liberties are being torched in the name of ‘diversity’.

The pernicious doctrine of multiculturalism has turned us into a society where people are frightened to speak their minds and justice has been flipped on its head.

To express an opinion contrary to the ruthlessly enforced, politically motivated conformity of the Fascist Left is to risk a vicious campaign of character assassination which, if you work in the public sector, will almost certainly cost you your job.

The private sector isn’t immune, either.

Only last week, we learned of a banker who was sacked for making a harmless, lame joke about Shi’ites.
