Creepy: CAIR Manages to Silence Robert Spencer

In other words: proselytizing is cool, because that “dispels stereotyping of Islam”- what could be more important than that?

CAIR recently launched an education initiative called “Share the Quran,” which is designed to dispel stereotypes about Islam and to enhance understanding of Islam by opinion leaders and policymakers nationwide by offering them free copies of the Quran, Islam’s revealed text. Read it all…

CAIR’S JIHAD ON THE WEST

 Saudi financed front for Hamas in the US,  un-indicted co-conspirator CAIR,  declared war on free speech. CAIR issued an alert saying, “if any person is solicited to join a politically extreme organization or to make statements regarding the media crazed catch-phrase ‘jihad against the West’, CAIR is requesting that you notify them of the incident”… Attempting to silence us, attacking free speech, silencing everyone who uses the phrase “jihad against the west” ….. is a part of the jihad against the West. Get it?

They have intimidated and threatened, and have succeeded in silencing Robert Spencer to speak in Chicago at an American Library Association panel. This is a terror attack. This is just as destructive as a bomb going off somewhere, perhaps worse.

A scholar silenced in Chicago, but the an Overthrow America convention in Chicago is ok. Got it?

Hamas-linked CAIR thumps its chest after succeeding in restricting free speech at the ALA

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has succeeded in silencing speech about Islam that it does not want you to hear. CAIR’s press release about this incident is entitled: “Good News: Islam-Basher Will Not Speak At Library Association Conference: CAIR to work with the ALA to schedule a future event on the same topic as the canceled panel discussion.”

How helpful!

With whom will the American Library Association be working on this? CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case. Its operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several of its former officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. Several of its other officials have made Islamic supremacist statements. CAIR also was involved in the Flying Imams’ intimidation suit against the passengers who reported their suspicious behavior.

I wrote the other day about how some alleged believers in free speech among American academia are trying to block my speaking at the American Library Association convention this Sunday. Now the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), true to form, has gotten into the act, sending the ALA a fresh steaming pile of defamation, lies, and distortions (drawing once again on material from its favorite useful idiot, the discredited, thoroughly dishonest Charles Johnson of that cesspool of lies and hate, Little Green Footballs), asking that I be dropped from the ALA panel. (Johnson discredited and dishonest? Click on the photo above and you’ll get the whole story.)

Whatever the ALA does, I am not going to let CAIR’s libels go unanswered.

UPDATE: Yid with Lid notes that LGF has become a “terrorist tool,” and “accused” “neo-Nazi” Ted Ekeroth of the Sweden Democrats turns out to be a recipient of the Herzl Award for “outstanding leadership and devotion to Israel and Zionism.” But will Johnson or CAIR retract and apologize? Don’t hold your breath.

The Australian Human Rights Commission demands the KRudd Government do more for Yuman Rites. In particular for  humans who are criminals, muslims, illegal immigrants, or extreme leftists.

The most telling action in support of human rights would be to get rid of the HRC. It is a yes minister body that doesn’t help humans and ignores rights. They are the Nazis of political correctness gone gaga. Fiscal blood sucking organisations. All they do is prop up malcontent minorities and force normal hard working people to fund these parasites.

Just goes to show that Mark Steyn was right. When the Islamic population of a country reaches above a certain percentage the effects of Shariah proponents start to take effect….and all non-Muslims experience a rollback of their religious and social liberties – this is a first step in that direction.   Not even the United States is immune from the tyranny of Islamic law, if cultural relativism is allowed into our courtroom. One law should apply to everyone.

A federal judge has upheld a decision by festival organizers in Dearborn, Mich., which is about 30 percent Muslim, to ban a Christian ministry from handing out religious information on public sidewalks. 

The ruling came from U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmonds and affects this weekend’s celebration but will not affect the free speech lawsuit over the event, filed by the Thomas More Law Center and the Becker Law Firm.

The case is being brought on behalf of the Arabic Christian Perspective, a Christian group that ministers to Muslims. According to the Thomas More Law Center, Pastor George Saieg and scores of his volunteers have visited Dearborn for the city’s Arab International Festival to hand out religious information several times.

At estimated 30,000 of Dearborn’s nearly 100,000 residents are Muslim.

While there never has been a disruption of the public peace during the five years the ministry has been attending, this year Dearborn police warned Saieg he and his group would not be allowed to walk the public sidewalks to hand out information and instead would be confined to a specific spot, the lawsuit said.

After negotiations in Dearborn failed to restore the Christians’ rights, the lawsuit was filed.

“It’s ironic that while Americans are applauding the free speech exercised by hundreds of thousands of Muslims on the streets of Iran, the city of Dearborn is restricting free speech rights Christians are attempting to exercise on the city’s public sidewalks,” said Richard Thompson, president of the Thomas More Law Center…

“Infandous” alley-rat George Galloway, recently seen smearing Geert Wilders and congratulating his misguided government to keep him out of England, is furious over Canada’s refusing him entry. But what’s good for the goose is good for the gander: George Galloways own words “Freedom of speech is not an absolute and the dutch Mp Wilders is a racist hater of moslims, hater of Islam and he shouldn’t be allowed into our country”..so why shouldn’t the same apply to Galloway?

George Galloway, the pro-terrorist MP from the United Kingdom, has been denied entry to Canada on security grounds. I suspect it has to do with his track record of providing financial assistance to terrorist groups like Hamas, which is listed as a criminal organization in Canada. It would not surprise me if CSIS determined that Galloway’s visit would have had fundraising or recruiting spin-offs for Hamas or other terrorist groups. I’m sure Galloway himself would boast of those activities. (UPDATE: I am advised that, in fact, his planned speaking engagement at a Toronto church was to raise funds for Hamas.)

The cabinet minister in charge of immigration, Jason Kenney, could exercise his ministerial discretion and override his officials, but given Kenney’s zero-tolerance policy towards anti-Semitism, that’s a non-starter.

This case is an interesting intersection between free speech and national sovereignty and security.

Galloway is not a Canadian citizen; he does not have a right to come to Canada (nor any other rights guaranteed to our citizens). He would be a guest, and he is being turned away for security reasons.

Were he a citizen, he would have the right to spout his bigotry in Canada (but not to engage in material support for terrorists, which is a crime.) If he were a citizen, he would be allowed back home, and arrested for his crimes.

I don’t see this as a free speech issue; I see it as a sovereignty issue — keeping out an undesirable foreigner who has no right to be here, and who boasts about violating our criminal code.

Netherlands Supreme Court: Insulting Islam is not insulting Muslims

The chief problem is that insult is in the eye of the beholder. If a non-Muslim points out that all the Islamic sects and schools of Islamic jurisprudence teach warfare against and the subjugation of unbelievers, Muslims in the West say that they’re insulted. But this is to say that they’re insulted by the truth, which suggests that in reality they are insulted that a non-Muslim would bring this truth to light when they would prefer to keep it concealed.
