The  reason for waging jihad has nothing to do with Israel or U.S. foreign policy:

So long as Islam endures, the reconciliation of its adherents, even with Jews and Christians, and still more with the rest of mankind, must continue to be an insoluble problem. … For an indefinite future, however reluctantly, we must confine our political recognition to the professors of those religions which … preach the doctrine of “live and let live” (The Institutes of the Law of Nations, p. 124).

In other words, political recognition — with all the attendant negotiations and diplomacy that come with it — should be granted to all major religions/civilizations except Islam, which does not recognize the notion of “live and let live,” as evinced by, among other stipulations, the Koran’s commands to its adherents to “enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong,” (e.g., Koran 3:110), that is, enforce Sharia law upon the earth.

Georg Kreis, the president of the Federal Commission Against Racism (EKR) explained in an interview with 20 minuten, why the posters inciting hatred against Muslims and anonymous contributors weaken the Swiss democracy the most.

20 minuten: The EKR declared that the minaret posters endanger the Swiss public peace. What’s so bad about the subject?

Georg Kreis: The poster vilified Muslims in the worst way and projects very aggressive imagery. The rocket-minarets are no coincidence, but a pure agitation targeted against an ethnic group. The burqa is mere populism – because in Switzerland there are virtually no burqa-wearing Muslim women. The poster calls for hatred against the Muslims and thus disturbs the peace of Switzerland. We need to protect Switzerland against such a defamatory and inflammatory categorization. At the moment it’s the Swiss People’s Party campaign, not Islam that threatens Switzerland. Read it all

The Sick Man of Europe meets Islam

Turkey was once known as the Sick Man of Europe because it appeared to be a failed state headed for collapse and ripe for colonization, but today it is Western Europe that appears to be sick, and Turkey’s Islamists, along with their co-religionists in the Middle East that are heading up the reverse colonization effort.

Yet it is an oversimplification to pretend that the problem began with Islam, Western Europe has been sick for some time now. Before Islam there was Communism and before Communism there was Nazism, and each time it appeared to only be a matter of time before Europe fell under the sway of one or the other.

The indecisiveness of the former great powers allowed a failed state like Germany led by a bunch of cheap thugs with a raving lunatic at its head nearly destroy them. What brought Europe to this catastrophic state of affairs was its emphasis on appeasement over defense, and even the willingness to carve up nations like Czechoslovakia rather than confront the clear and present danger of Nazi Germany. By the time they woke up, it was all but too late and only American intervention saved Europe from becoming part of the Thousand Year Reich.

The Muslim Association of Britain has just published an article supporting… polygamy!

It is commonly believed that men have more rights than women because they can have 4 wives. However in Islamic culture having multiple wives is more responsibility than a right. As I mentioned before, the successful development of society is protected by Islam; consequently everyone has a specific function there. Men have to protect their families and it is the duty of the husband to provide his wife and children with food, clothes, a home and medical treatment according to his financial position and income.[9] If a man wants to marry he must have the financial support to do it and if he wants to have more than one wife he has to be able to support all his wives in an equal way to prevent injustices.

There you have it. No qualification. No suggestion that this is a theoretical position or an exposition of historical theological perspectives on marriage. A straightforward piece of advocacy for polygamy.

These are the guys who are training the next generation of British Imams. God help us

Having multiple wives in Islamic cultures is a responsibility and not even a right, according to an article on the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB) website.

According to the MAB, which describes itself as a “founding member of the Mosques and Imams National Advisory Body (MINAB)”, it is “commonly believed that men have more rights than women because they can have 4 wives. However in Islamic culture having multiple wives is more responsibility than a right.”  (Source)

The article written by someone named Azhanty Jheman, goes on to quote the Koran in support of the assertion that Muslims have a responsibility to have multiple wives.  The article does, of course, not go on to say exactly why it is a “responsibility” but the reason is obvious: so that Muslims can multiply faster than any other religious group and thereby expand their belief through demographic strangulation of other peoples.

A leading British engineer has been granted Fellowship of the British Science Association for his work to promote the scientific and technological achievements within Muslim cultures. Professor Salim T S Al-Hassani, of Manchester University, has spent the last two decades debunking the myth of “The Dark Ages” by raising awareness of the scientific achievements that took place in India, China, Muslim Spain and the Middle East between the 7th and 17th centuries.

“The period between the 7th and 17th centuries, that has been erroneously labeled ‘The Dark Ages’ was in fact a time of exceptional scientific and cultural advancement in China, India, the Arab world and Southern Europe. This is the period in history that gave us the first manned flight, huge advances in engineering, the development of robotics and the foundations of modern mathematics, chemistry and physics”.

Despite bombarding Jews on their high holidays with rocks and  incitement from Islamic clerics to riot,  Israel allows muslims to  defile the temple mount and to blast the hateful Friday kuthbas over powerful loudspeakers.  The surrounding Arab countries, Jordan, Egypt and Syria never stop to incite the Arabs to terrorize the Jews and threaten a new intifadah. Even Jordan’s plucky little king is doing his very best to display his Jew-hating obsession.

EGYPT: Sheikh Yusuf al Qaradawi calls for ‘Friday of anger’ against Al Aqsa violations

The head of the International Union for Muslim Scholars, Yusuf Al Qaradawi, is urging Egyptians to turn this Friday into a nationwide day of anger against the “Israeli practices at the Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.”

The outspoken cleric is famous for once calling Jews a profligate, cunning and arrogant band of people. He has long been in support of Palestinian suicide bombers and previously said that the Holocaust was God’s punishment to Jews for their corruption.

Qaradawi wasn’t the only cleric to criticize Arab regimes for their “passiveness” against “Israeli violations.” A number of religious scholars said that the Arab and Muslim world should rush to defend the sacred Aqsa from repeated “Zionist assaults.”

Islamic Jihad’s website Saraya.ps has an article on the ninth anniversary of the beginning of the second Intifada. The exact words the article uses are “the ninth anniversary of the glorious Al-Aqsa Intifada in Palestine.”

Think about this for a minute. The intifada resulted in the deaths of over 5000 Palestinian Arabs. As a direct result of the uprising, Israel built a wall to protect her citizens and that made the lives of Palestinian Arabs more difficult. The use of Islam to justify killing is “an innovation” in the religion, a Muslim scholar told a Baltimore conference Saturday, and warned: “Most innovations lead to hellfire.”

Hundreds of Muslims went to the Baltimore Convention Center on Saturday to hear Basyouni and others promote what organizers described as a moderate, modern interpretation of Islam for the United States and the West. ISLAMABAD: Steps by the United States to vastly expand its aid to Pakistan, as well as the footprint of its embassy and private security contractors here, are aggravating an already volatile anti-American mood as Washington pushes for greater action by the government against the Taliban.

Critics complain the bill could authorize the U.S. to broaden airstrikes in the country and interfere in Pakistan’s nuclear program.

“The tone and tenor of the bill in terms of conditionalities is not just intrusive, it’s also overbearing and bordering on the humiliation of Pakistan,” said Mushahid Hussain, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q. “We are not being treated kindly.”

An aid package of $1.5 billion a year for the next five years passed by Congress last week asks Pakistan to cease supporting terrorist groups on its soil and to ensure that the military does not interfere with civilian politics. President Asif Ali Zardari, whose association with the United States has added to his unpopularity, agreed to the stipulations in the aid package, says a report published in the New York Times.

But many here, especially in the powerful army, object to the conditions as interference in Pakistan‘s internal affairs, and they are interpreting the larger American footprint in more sinister ways.

In a public statement, the American ambassador, Anne W. Patterson, suggested last week that Pakistan should eliminate the Afghan Taliban leader, Mullah Omar, a onetime ally of the Pakistanis who Washington says is now based in Baluchistan, a province on the Afghanistan border. If Pakistan did not get rid of Mullah Omar, the United States would, she suggested.

Reinforcing the ambassador, the national security adviser, Gen. James L. Jones, said Sunday that the United States regarded tackling Qaeda sanctuaries in Pakistan as “the next step” in the conflict in Afghanistan.

The Pakistani army chief, Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, in an unusually stern reaction last week, said that missile attacks by American drones in Baluchistan, as implied by the Americans, “would not be allowed.” Read the whole thing, here>>

The misplaced faith in Pakistan exhibited by many in Washington is not new; it has been going on for fifty years, ever since the first early infatuation, by various Dulles brothers and American generals, with fly-whisking ramrod-straight terry-thomas-moustachioed generals who kept assuring the Americans that “Islam is a barrier to Communism” and allowed themselves to be compared — favorably — with bandung-conferencing, new-left-book-club-subscribing, Krishna Menon (India’s foreign minister) and supercilious Jawaharlal Nehru.

It started with Pakistan as part of that farcical military alliance, CENTO, with Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan as the stout defenders of the West against atheistic Communism. That West, represented by Great Britain and the United States, supplied all the arms and all the money. The thing collapsed in 1958, having hardly existed, with Qassem’s coup in Iraq, and “strongman” Nuri es-Said’s body being dragged through the streets of Baghdad for further mutilation.

But the love affair, entirely unrequited, with Pakistan continued. The Americans sold weapons and even advanced planes. But Pakistan took those weapons and used them to threaten, or even to make war on India in repeated campaigns, and Pakistan military’s support for terrorism in Kashmir did not begin yesterday, or the day before.

The misuse of American aid, and the dawning understanding, among some in the Senate, led to the Pressler Amendment. But unfortunately, those who had over slow time begun to really understand Pakistan’s treachery, such as Senator Glenn, did not have a way to pass on that understanding to their successors. The Senate had no institutional memory, and lessons learned by some in Congress were forgotten when they left the scene.
